Santiago is an eighteen month old male Cross-Breed who is medium in size and currently fostered in Milton Keynes. He can live with or without other dogs, has not yet been cat tested but could be, and can live with respectful children of any age. Santiago and his brother (who we hope to bring next month) were brought into the public shelter by their owner. He manhandled them roughly out of the car and into crates on arrival. He said he’d wanted small dogs and these had grown too much and he couldn’t feed them, which he clearly hadn’t because they were emaciated. Whilst we were there last month, the same man turned up at the shelter asking to adopt a small dog. No chance. Santiago is a ridiculously friendly and happy boy. He walks nicely on a lead and is great with other dogs. He could also live as the only dog in the home very happily. He could live with respectful children of any age. Honour is a two year old female Cross-Breed who is medium in size and currently fostered in Norwich, Norfolk. She can live with or without other dogs, has not yet been cat tested but could be, and can live with respectful children aged six and over. We met Honour last month on a trip to the Boto?ani public shelter in Romania. She is a super friendly girl who was desperate for us to notice her. She is sweet and affectionate and will be a fantastic addition to a very lucky family. Honour gets on well with other dogs but could also live as the only dog in the home. Tommy is a twelve year old male Cross-Breed who is small in size and currently fostered in Gravesend, Kent. He can live with or without other dogs, has not yet been cat tested but could be, and he needs a home with children aged twelve and over. This plucky little boy was abandoned outside the Crivatu shelter in Romania, skinny and flea infested. With good care and love he was restored to good health but sadly tested positive for heartworm. He was treated and now just needs a monthly antiparasite treatment, which is provided at no cost to his adopter. Tommy is a comical little chap who can still amble around happily. He just needs a nice garden to potter around in and to be spoilt in his twilight years. He gets on well with other dogs and is quite happy with dogs of all ages and sizes despite his old age. Elena is a five to six year old female Cross-Breed who is medium to large in size and currently fostered in Marlborough, Wiltshire. She can live with or without other dogs, can live with children of all ages, and has not yet been cat tested, though she may be suitable. We met Elena in March this year when we visited the Boto?ani public shelter in Romania. She had a badly twisted front leg. She had two operations to try and fix the damaged limb, but sadly they didn’t work and it was ultimately amputated. Elena is the most joyous dog you could ever meet. Despite her surroundings in the grim shelter she remains bubbly and upbeat. She is friendly and affectionate and loves everyone she meets. Elena mixes well with other dogs but could also live happily as the only dog in the home. She could live with respectful children of all ages. Meet the playful and affectionate Sonny. Sonny is a one year old male Collie Cross, medium in size, who can be reserved at first but quickly warms up and loves attention once he trusts someone. Sonny can initially be reserved when first meeting someone but comes round quickly. He is always friendly and, when ready, approaches for fuss. He gets very excited when familiar people visit and is learning not to jump up. Sonny is toilet trained but not crate trained. He travels in the car, though he doesn’t enjoy it and often needs to be lifted in; he is best settled on the back seat and occasionally suffers from travel sickness. He sleeps well overnight, either upstairs on the landing or in a dog bed in the foster’s room, and understands the bedtime command. Sonny has only been left during the day with other dogs for company, and if homed alone, his alone time will need to be gradually built up. Phoebe is an 8 week old female English Setter cross Springer Spaniel pup, currently in Spain, with transport available to the UK. This lovely litter were born at the shelter on 16/09/2025. We were asked to help their mum, Ella, who was pregnant at the time. We were concerned about what might happen to her and her pups if no one stepped in, so our wonderful team in Spain brought Ella safely into the shelter, where she gave birth to five beautiful puppies. Their dad is a Springer Spaniel, making these pups a delightful mix of English Setter and Springer Spaniel. They’re all used to meeting the shelter team and being gently handled, though their socialisation outside the shelter environment has been limited so far. Phoebe is black and white. She’s very confident and independent — and absolutely loves her food! These pups are expected to grow into medium-sized, active, and intelligent dogs. They’re looking for loving homes where someone is around most of the day and can dedicate time...

Meet Stratos, a 2 year old male Pointer Cross currently in Cyprus. Upon meeting Stratos on a recent trip to Cyprus, I can honestly say this boy broke me. Huddled in a compound with many other dogs, Stratos struggled to be seen. The dogs rushed the fencing for attention. Poor Stratos tried his best to get to the people, making some fuss. But he missed out, overcome by the crowd. His face was full of sorrow and sadness. The shelter team told me his passion is human interaction but rarely did he get it. I managed to get him out of the compound for a little one to one time. His little face literally lit up when he saw I’d chosen him to come out. He totally adored the attention, loved being fussed and stroked. He gave the best kisses ever.He pulled at my heartstrings like few dogs do. The shelter team informed me he had Leishmania, treated without any issues, the remnants of which were still visible on his face, some fur loss that will grow back in time. Luanna fostered Fakenham, Norfolk. Luanna is a nine month old medium sized cross breed pup (born Feb 25). Luanna came into our care from the Botosani public shelter in Romania a few months ago. She was initially very scared after her experiences there and so wasn’t chosen for adoption. She has now completely changed and is now the life and soul of every party! This girl is all about the fun, she loves to play with toys or her canine friends. Ideally, she would like to live with another dog but could be the only dog as long as she could socialise with dogs out and about. Luanna absolutely loves her walks and rarely shows any signs of the fear she once had. She will need basic training and a fairly active lifestyle as she likes to be busy. Rocco fostered Norwich Norfolk. Rocco is a medium sized crossbreed aged one year old. Rocco is from, what followers of safe rescue know to be, the barking Bush in Crivatu Romania. It is an area of shrub land known to be used to dump rubbish, furniture, and unwanted dogs. We have a history of busting a gut to catch dumped dogs from this area before anything bad happens to them. In Rocco’s case he and one sibling escaped death by only twenty four hours. The day after volunteers managed to catch them and get them safe, the rest of the litter were mercilessly slaughtered and left in the rubbish. Whilst their siblings were being given a respectful burial, Rocco and his sister were being taken to a private shelter where they remained safe and cared for until we could take them here in the UK. Rocco arrived in the UK in May and was quickly adopted. He was much loved and well cared for but sadly, despite being a perfect companion, has recently been returned due to unforeseen circumstance...

Meet delicious Dave — the cuddly charmer from Cyprus! Dave is a 1 year old male Labrador Retriever Cross, medium-sized at around 20 kilograms. A firm favourite of the shelter team, this little fella hasn’t put a paw wrong since he arrived as a stray. Hugely loving, immensely cuddly, and incredibly affectionate — Dave’s capacity to love knows no bounds! This doesn’t just extend to his human companions but to his furry friends too. Dave seeks out kisses and cuddles from anyone willing to share them, nuzzling into people’s shoulders for a proper full-body hug. Meet Teddy, a glorious 7-year-old English Bulldog currently living it up in his foster home in Newmarket, Suffolk — surrounded by toys, soft beds, and a fan club of humans who absolutely adore him. Meet Peanut, an 18 month old female Miniature Pinscher Cross currently in Cyprus. This extra-special little lady is a tiny bundle of joy, weighing just over 4 kilograms and standing about 8 inches tall from shoulder to paw. Found abandoned on the streets, Peanut has spent the last six weeks at our Cyprus shelter — and in that short time, she’s managed to charm absolutely everyone she meets. Described by the shelter manager as bubbly and fun-loving, Peanut has a lovely smile and the most endearing personality. Diego is a handsome long Bassett type crossbreed who is almost two years old. He is fostered currently in Badersfield Norwich Norfolk. He is a medium sized dog on short legs with a big head! Rosie is a 1 year old cross breed puppy, expected to be smaller and medium-sized when fully grown (current weight: 10 kg, shoulder height: 41 cm). She was dumped on the roadside along with her 3 siblings where their life was at constant danger. Luckily they were picked up and handed over to the local shelter where Rosie and her brother (Ricky) have been living since.
