Sonny – 1 year old male Collie Cross

Meet the playful and affectionate Sonny. Sonny is a one year old male Collie Cross, medium in size, who can be reserved at first but quickly warms up and loves attention once he trusts someone.

Sonny can initially be reserved when first meeting someone but comes round quickly. He is always friendly and, when ready, approaches for fuss. He gets very excited when familiar people visit and is learning not to jump up.

Sonny is toilet trained but not crate trained. He travels in the car, though he doesn’t enjoy it and often needs to be lifted in; he is best settled on the back seat and occasionally suffers from travel sickness.

He sleeps well overnight, either upstairs on the landing or in a dog bed in the foster’s room, and understands the bedtime command.

Sonny has only been left during the day with other dogs for company, and if homed alone, his alone time will need to be gradually built up. He has been left for up to 2.5 hours with other dogs, during which he just sleeps, often enjoying a biscuit to settle.

Sonny has worked hard on walks; he was initially nervous and disliked having a lead put on, but with patience he now stands calmly for a harness and gets excited to go outside.

He may be wary at first but settles quickly and responds well to commands and clicker training. The presence of another dog will help his confidence.

Sonny is sweet-natured, affectionate, and food-motivated. He loves cuddles, tickles behind the ears, and responds extremely well to praise.

His favourite treats are chicken, cheese, and ham-based rewards. He is currently fed twice a day with a mix of raw food and kibble to help him gain weight.

Sonny enjoys several shorter walks throughout the day, visits to the dog park, playing ball, tug of war, and his favourite squeaky snake toy.

He is low maintenance aside from regular walks and playtime, after which he enjoys quiet rest. He loves greeting neighbours and has grown into a confident, happy pup with a big heart and paws, ready for his next chapter away from his foster mum.

Phoebe is a 1-2 year old female Shepherd Cross. She sleeps downstairs in a large crate with the door open. Her current owner has been sleeping downstairs with her.
