Pete is a large crossbreed aged around eighteen months old. Pete is fostered Norwich Norfolk. Pete and his siblings were found in a city in Romania in January 2025. Small pups, lost, wandering among cars and all sorts of dangers. The man who found them, being a friend of a friend, asked for Roxana’s help and they were taken to her shelter. Pete is a typical adolescent dog, clumsily learning the canine lessons of life. He is initially shy with new people and takes time to bond. He is not an overly affectionate dog but will always be close by. Pete would love to live with another playful dog but could go as the only dog. Prince is a 20 month old Lurcher and he is looking for a new home. Although he’s not originally an Underdog, when we heard that he needed some support we wanted to try and help him. Unfortunately, Prince is living in a home that is not suitable for his needs. He has been struggling in the city and needs a less overwhelming environment to call home. He is also a very energetic boy, and is looking for an active, patient and understanding family. Prince is just under two years old and is a sighthound mix. He was part of an accidental litter, and was bought as a puppy, but has consistently struggled in London and requires a more experienced handler. With the support of a local day-care and dog walking business, Prince has had a lot more exposure to other dogs and new people, and he has made a lot of progress regarding his confidence and social skills. She was found in bushes in Crivatu Romania a few years ago and was taken to the private shelter nearby. She is a calm and steady girl who still enjoys short walks. She mixes well with all dogs but is quite a dominant member of the pack. She keeps all the youngsters at the shelter in check with a firm but fair approach and they all love and respect her for that. Orion is a 1 year old, medium-large, male, Cross-Breed, who is a sweet, friendly, lovely boy waiting for his forever home. He has never truly known what it means to be a carefree puppy. Maddie is a 12-year-old Springer Spaniel currently being fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult family home with other dogs. Maddie recently joined the Starfish family after her previous owner sadly had to move and was unable to keep all of his dogs. Elena is a five to six year old female Cross-Breed who is medium to large in size and currently fostered in Marlborough, Wiltshire. She can live with or without other dogs, can live with children of all ages, and has not yet been cat tested, though she may be suitable. We met Elena in March this year when we visited the Boto?ani public shelter in Romania. She had a badly twisted front leg. She had two operations to try and fix the damaged limb, but sadly they didn’t work and it was ultimately amputated. Elena is the most joyous dog you could ever meet. Aspen is a 10 month old Beagle mix who’s life got off to a very rocky start. He was abandoned as a young puppy in Cyprus and found seriously unwell with parvovirus. After spending time in the vets and making a full recovery, he joined the shelter and eventually travelled to the UK as a foster. Since arriving, it’s been a bit of a journey for him, and it’s taken time to really understand what he needs to feel settled and secure. After struggling to find the right fit in a home environment, Aspen has spent the last couple of months in kennels, where he has surprised everyone with just how well he’s done. With clear routines, patient handling and consistent care, he has really come into himself. Captain is a 4.5 year old, medium-sized, male, lab cross who was abandoned in Cyprus by his owner 9 months ago. We will never know his full story—maybe his family moved away, or maybe they just decided they no longer wanted him. Whatever the reason, Captain was left behind: alone, confused, and heartbroken. The fact that this boy is so loving and affectionate towards humans is a testament to him. Perhaps it’s because he knows exactly what he has lost and he longs to find that again. He adores being around humans and is just such a happy boy. He doesn’t deserve to be in a kennel. Captain has shown to be selective with other dogs so needs to be the only dog. Toffee weighs a perfect twenty-one kilos and measures seventeen inches from shoulder to paw. Having been found abandoned on the streets, Toffee has been in our Cyprus shelter for one month. For the trained eye, Toffee is canine perfection. He is stunningly good looking with his light tan coat with hints of darker brown. The most lovable face and soft demeanour make Toffee a world champion. Toffee’s marvellous face is enhanced by gorgeous whiskers, puppy dog eyes and beautiful ears.
