Lucia – 10 month old female Cross-Breed

Lucia is a 10 month old cross breed fostered in Swadlincote. Lucia is an very pretty, medium-sized puppy girl Cross breed, with a fluffy off white soft coat She is a lovely gentle girl, and at times quite nervous but very affectionate and loves attention from the volunteers and enjoys being cuddled and groomed. She gets on well with her kennel mate, but definitely prefers to be with people. Lucia has just started her lead training which is going well, as we don’t think she is used to being walked because she came with chain round her neck and black stains on her fur so we think she’s just been chained up all her life. Poor girl, but we are happy she is gaining confidence on a daily rate. Lucia is not cat tested yet. We really want a loving home for this girlie with another friendly dog and children over 12 years. Seth – 10 month old male Pointer

Seth is a young male English Pointer, approximately 10 months old, was found as a stray when he was just 6 months, and has been in a shelter in Cyprus ever since. He is a typical pointer: super friendly, loving, cuddly, extremely human oriented, good with other dogs, and loves children and anyone he meets. We suspect Seth may have been from an unwanted litter produced by a hunters dog. He was probably then dumped on the roadside to fend for himself away from everything he had ever known. He was found with 2 other male pointers a few years older than him and has been happily living with them in a pack with some other female pointers aswell. Ray – 6 month old male Hound Cross

Ray is a Male, 6 months old, hound cross. He will be medium size when fully grown appropriately 20 -25 kg. He is currently in a wonderful foster home here in Cyprus and will be ready to fly to the UK in July. This is what Ray’s fosters say about him… He is incredibly sweet and an absolute dream dog. Typical for his age, he’s playful, gets along well with cats and other dogs, and while he’s a little unsure of unfamiliar dogs at first, once he warms up, he wants to play. He cuddles a lot and actively seeks physical contact. He has good recall outside and can walk off-leash (he hasn’t shown any prey drive so far). He already knows commands like “down,” “leave it,” and “no.” We’re currently working on “come” and “sit.” We’ve also done crate training, and that’s going great. Mona – 6 month old female Shepherd Cross

Mona is a 6 month old female Shepherd cross. She is currently living in a foster home in Leeds and is available for meets and greets with potential adopters. Mona weighs 12kg now and is not expected to grow larger than 20-25kg. This sweet girl has been through a lot of hardship since she came into the world and would love to find a home and family to call her own. She was born in a work yard in Sarajevo, Bosnia in the middle of winter, and has survived almost freezing to death, serious illness, and being chased by dog catchers. Sadly, she lost half her tail before she was rescued, and she was in a lot of pain at the time. Fortunately, it doesn’t cause her any discomfort now and she loves to wag it! Brandon – 3 year old male Pointer Cross

Brandon has to be on the next flight. He’s 3 years old and when he arrived at the shelter last year he was emaciated. He was nothing but skin and bone. Completely starved and mistreated. We suspect he was a hunters dog – made to go hungry to ‘make him a better hunter’. Brandon is a pointer and ready to find his forever home. Unfortunately Brandon entered the shelter nearly a year ago. He has been well cared for and did initially put on some weight. But the stress of being caged up all day has got to him and he has lost weight again. That’s why we need him in a home asap. He’s struggling. Perhaps he once knew a home and had a family. Alba – 5 year old female Cross-Breed

Alba is a small to medium sized crossbreed. Her passport states her to be five years old but we feel she is probably at least seven or eight. Alba fostered Hempnall, Norfolk. Alba was found in a cemetery in Romania and was rescued a few weeks ago. She is now in a UK foster home. Her fosterer says, “She’s a lovely girl who likes to rest outside, she’s great with other dogs but would also be happy to be on her own. She’s no trouble, you literally don’t know you have her. She loves walks where she likes to plod beside you. She has the happiest tail waggle and sweet soul who just wants tummy tickles and love. Shes great with children and all people. Indie is a 10 month old female German short haired pointer located in Spain. Gorgeous puppy Indie is a beautiful looking German pointer girl. She’s very loving, friendly and affectionate. She gets on well with her kennel mates but really loves human company. Indie stands at medium height and she’s approximately 10 months old. She weighs 16kg so she needs to put some weight on, but she lively and healthy and has a great personality. Poor Indie arrived at the shelter via a local vet who found her abandoned with two other dogs, so unfortunately we don’t know much about her background except she’s not had much training so she is a blank canvas for a family wanting to train for obedience or agility, she would be brill at either! Bambi is a 16 month old girl who will grow into a smaller medium-sized dog (current weight: 7 kg). She currently lives in a foster family in Hungary. She and her sibling were strays when tragedy struck — Bambi was hit by a car and suffered a hip injury. Thanks to surgery and lots of care from her foster family, she’s healing beautifully. Looby is a small to medium whippet -ish crossbreed aged around three to four years old. Looby-Lou fostered Norwich Norfolk. A few years ago a mum and two pups turned up at the gate of Crivatu. Just some of many dumped there over the years. They were tempted through the gates and into the safety of the shelter with trails of food. They were wary little dogs that took a while to trust humans. The mother, Maria, and sister Bella, were more confidant and adopted in the UK some time ago. Looby was a lot shyer until very recently. Tanner is a medium to large sized German shepherd cross aged around six to seven years old. Tanner fostered Easton Norfolk. He has come into our care recently from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. We’ve known this boy for over two years now and walked him on several trips to the shelter. He’s always been so happy to see us and a really nice boy to take out. He’s very friendly and confident. Tanner could live very happily with another dog or dogs but would also enjoy being the only dog in the home. He could live with respectful children aged ten plus. Barbie is a small female crossbreed aged around 2-3 years old. Barbie is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. Barbie came into our care from the Botosani public shelter in Romania at the end of 2023 and has grown up with us. Having started life in the shelter environment she was very shy and under socialised on arrival and it took us weeks to warm her trust. She is now confident and affectionate with everyone in her foster home and loves cuddles and to play. She is still wary of strangers and not confident in unfamiliar surroundings but this will all improve in time. Nami is one of the 27 dogs rescued from a hoarding case back in October — a group of dogs who had never experienced normal life, kindness, or a safe environment. Hi… I’m Jharna I’m a 9-year-old German Pointer, and somehow, after everything, I still believe in love. I was found in the middle of nowhere by kind tourists who saw that I wasn’t okay. They took me to the vet, and that’s when my story came out… I had a microchip, but I had spent my life being used only for breeding. Over and over again. Ron is a four year old male Brittany. Ron is a very handsome boy. Small in size with a robust frame and vibrant colours. Ron is exceptionally attached to people. He would like to spend all day by your side! He loves cuddles and caresses and has a very good appetite too whihc will be great for training! Ron is very sociable with female dogs and but a little wary of other males, he will soon be neutered and we will see if he settles down more then.
