This handsome boy is Rio. Rio – 11 month old male Labrador Retriever Cross Akita. He is a gorgeous young dog looking for his forever home where he can truly be part of the family. Rio loves people and other dogs and is currently in foster with multiple dogs, which he is really enjoying. Therefore, we will be searching for a home with another canine companion that he can play with. Although he is only 11 months old, he is very well-mannered. He is house-trained but, as usual, may have a few accidents at first until he settles into his new home. Due to his age, he would benefit from an active family. He can live with dog-savvy children. Due to being playful and enthusiastic, he may accidentally knock over small children, but this is never malicious. Rio is described as a medium-sized dog and weighs around 23kg. Tommy is a 1.5 year old male Cross-Breed, medium in size. He was rescued exactly a year ago from horrid circumstances, having been thrown into a yard with his sister, Suzy, at just a few weeks of age. They lived on piles of rubbish, frequently escaping due to inadequate fencing and roaming the streets among busy traffic, constantly in danger. When rescued, they were emaciated and full of parasites. Tommy and Suzy can be rehomed together or separately. Tommy has grown to be a kind-natured, healthy dog who is active and playful according to his age. He is medium-sized and has a lovely happy character. Tilly – 2-year-old Cockapoo girl (approx. 10kg) Currently being fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult family home with multiple dogs. Tilly was originally homed by Starfish as a puppy and has recently come back into our care due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. This is absolutely no reflection on lovely little Tilly, who has done nothing wrong. We are heartbroken for her, as returns are something that very rarely happen within our rescue. When Tilly first arrived, our hearts broke for her. For several days she sat by the door waiting, barely eating and seeming very sad and withdrawn. It was clear she missed everything she had known and was struggling to understand why her world had suddenly changed. Reyna is a medium Border Collie, 9 years old. Reyna is a beautiful Border Collie in foster in Cambridgeshire, her passport says she is 9 years old, although her vet believes she may actually be younger. Reyna came into the shelter with her three puppies, Ares, Sena and Zeus, after being surrendered by a family who had kept her outdoors for her entire life. We believe she may have spent much of that time chained up, with very little opportunity to interact with people, other dogs or the world around her. Her puppies are all in wonderful homes now, and although Reyna is going from strength to strength, we would love to find her a home of her own. Richy is a 7 month old female Cross-Breed. This poor girl was dumped outside a shelter when she was only 12 weeks old. Richy was quite poorly and almost didn’t make it. Now fully recovered and in good health, she is ready for her forever home. Richy is now 7 months old and a lovely and gentle natured girl. Freya is slightly reserved and shy when meeting new people, but she has made significant progress in building her confidence, thanks to her kennel mate, Ira. Seth is a young male English Pointer, approximately 10 months old, was found as a stray when he was just 6 months, and has been in a shelter in Cyprus ever since. He is a typical pointer: super friendly, loving, cuddly, extremely human oriented, good with other dogs, and loves children and anyone he meets. We suspect Seth may have been from an unwanted litter produced by a hunters dog. He was probably then dumped on the roadside to fend for himself away from everything he had ever known. He was found with 2 other male pointers a few years older than him and has been happily living with them in a pack with some other female pointers aswell. Ray is a Male, 6 months old, hound cross. He will be medium size when fully grown appropriately 20 -25 kg. Typical for his age, he’s playful, gets along well with cats and other dogs, and while he’s a little unsure of unfamiliar dogs at first, once he warms up, he wants to play. Mona is a 6 month old female Shepherd cross. She is currently living in a foster home in Leeds and is available for meets and greets with potential adopters. Mona weighs 12kg now and is not expected to grow larger than 20-25kg. This sweet girl has been through a lot of hardship since she came into the world and would love to find a home and family to call her own. She was born in a work yard in Sarajevo, Bosnia in the middle of winter, and has survived almost freezing to death, serious illness, and being chased by dog catchers. Brandon has to be on the next flight. He’s 3 years old and when he arrived at the shelter last year he was emaciated. He was nothing but skin and bone. Completely starved and mistreated. We suspect he was a hunters dog – made to go hungry to ‘make him a better hunter’. Brandon is a pointer and ready to find his forever home. Alba is a small to medium sized crossbreed. Her passport states her to be five years old but we feel she is probably at least seven or eight. Alba fostered Hempnall, Norfolk. Alba was found in a cemetery in Romania and was rescued a few weeks ago. She is now in a UK foster home. Her fosterer says, “She’s a lovely girl who likes to rest outside, she’s great with other dogs but would also be happy to be on her own. She’s no trouble, you literally don’t know you have her.
