Bagel – 1 year old male Beagle

Image
Bagel is a one year old Beagle. He is a new arrival in the shelter and such a sweetheart. He was found as a stray days before the end of the hunting season, likely abandoned or lost. The hunting mentality and throwaway culture of dogs in Cyprus results in thousands of hounds finding their way into the shelters across the island every season, so we’re no stranger to beagles and pointers who haven’t quite made the cut. Bagel is around a year old is as velvety on the inside as he is on the outside. He is such a softie, and has a gentle, submissive and affectionate personality. He can be a little bit shy to start with, but it doesn’t take much to win him over and before long he’ll be jumping up for cuddles and leaning in for a fuss. He’s very much still a baby, so learning each and every day, but he’s doing well at lead-training and is almost there with a very smart ‘sit’ for a treat! Bagel is great with other dogs and mixes into a group without any issues. He is gentle, playful, frie...

Cooper – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Cooper is a 2-year-old male Cross-Breed. He is a very handsome dog who is believed to possibly be a Hungarian Vizsla cross. Cooper has a very soft and gentle nature, making him a lovely companion for the right home. Despite his sweet temperament, he is also quite a high-energy dog who enjoys keeping active. He absolutely loves his toys and will happily spend time playing with them, even entertaining himself when needed. Cooper enjoys his walks and finds great excitement in getting outside and exploring. Because of his energy levels, regular exercise is important for him to stay happy and balanced. Cooper sadly had to return to rescue because he was not receiving enough exercise in his previous home. As a result, he is now looking for a new family who can provide him with the activity and stimulation he needs. A home with a large garden would be ideal so that he has space to play and burn off some of his energy. Although Cooper is lively, he does know how to settle down after he h...

Trinity – 2-3 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Trinity is a medium sized female cross breed aged around 2/3 years old. Trinity is fostered in Norwich Norfolk I met Trinity during a trip to a Romanian shelter back in October last year. She was living outside on the street along with a few other dogs and was pregnant, not for the first time sadly. When the rescuer captured her inside the gates of the shelter she asked if we would take her and of course we agreed. Unfortunately the neighbourhood were not kind to the dogs in that street and would throw rocks at them to chase them away as they didn’t want them around. As a result of this Trinity is extremely wary of men and will bark at them. In time she can learn to trust individual men but we sadly cannot erase these memories altogether. Ideally an all female home would be best but a very patient and understanding man could win her trust over time. It is only barking, it’s like she’s trying to warn the others that there’s a man around and they should be scared, the others ignore...

Finn – 5-6 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Finn is a five to six month old crossbreed pup who we believe will grow to be medium sized. Finn fostered Norwich Norfolk. Finn has come into our care recently from the Boto?ani public shelter in Romania. He is initially quite hand shy with new people but his confidence is growning daily. He is much braver when he has an adult dog to shadow around and we would therefore need to find him a home with at least one other dog in permanent residence. He is mixing well with the safe rescue cat and will need a home with children no younger than twelve. He will need all the usual training and care that all pups need and adopters should expect peeing, poohing, chewing and potentially sleepless nights until work is put into training them out of it. TERMS AND CONDITIONS When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, t...

Balto is a 12month old male Mastin cross, located in Newquay Cornwall. This loveable young chap is Balto, a medium to large lad standing at 80cm and aged just over 12 months old. Balto is great with male and female dogs and loves all people. He loves his cuddles and has a fantastic character. Children – we think over 10 years due to his size and when he gets excited. Newton – 4 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Newton is a medium sized crossbreed aged around four years old. Newton fostered Fakenham Norfolk. Newton and his siblings were taken in by a Romanian private shelter when war broke out in Ukraine. There were many situations at that time when Romania stepped up to help the abandoned dogs of Ukraine as people fled the country and left them behind. The siblings grew up in the shelter and sadly were never offered homes. The first of the four came over last year and was happily adopted. We will of course help the other two shortly. Due to not interacting with many humans the group are a little hand shy with strangers but very happy and friendly dogs once they’ve gotten to know you well. Newton will need another confident dog in his forever home and would like a family with no children under the age of twelve. He is doing so well in his UK foster home and is a very fast learner. He was reluctant to walk on a lead initially but is now loving the new adventures of the outside world. The...

Chester – 4 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Chester is a 4-year-old male Cross-Breed. He is a small-sized dog with a very friendly and affectionate nature who enjoys being around people and receiving plenty of fuss and attention. Chester clearly thrives on companionship and loves spending time with his humans. He is a cheerful little character who enjoys playing with toys and having fun during playtime. Chester also enjoys going for walks and is described as being good on the lead, which makes him a pleasant walking companion. His willingness to learn and engage makes him a very trainable dog. Chester is currently living happily with a small group of both male and female dogs. This shows that he is comfortable sharing his space with other dogs and socialising with them. However, he would also be perfectly content living as the only dog in the home if that suited his future family better. His happy and easy-going nature means he could fit into many different family situations. Chester is suitable to live with children aged ...

Kita is a 5-year-old female Akita. She is described as a beautiful girl who is searching for her forever home, and it is clear she has a lot of love ready to give to the right people. Robin was rescued from a public shelter along with his siblings and is now ready to find his permanent home. He is described as friendly, playful and people-focused. Ciara – 5 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Please meet Cuddly Ciara, well just look at that face! Ciara is a gorgeous little terrier mix that is approximately 5 years old, she is very small and very sweet. Ciara was saved from the Chinese meat market by Harbin Rescue. Yes dogs are food in China, if you don’t know the meat markets are absolutely evil and the treatment the dogs get and the things they have seen is nothing short of hell. Little Ciara is one of the lucky ones and has come to us in the UK to find her forever home. If you are not aware, there are no animal welfare laws in China so no dog is ever safe there, which is why the dogs are sent overseas to be rehomed, to make sure they are safe and loved for life! We expected Ciara to be quite bewildered when she arrived in foster with us, she had a 14 hour flight followed by a few hours drive, although all she wanted was to have a snuggle with me, it’s very easy to fall in love with this adorable little lady. I mean, just look at her! She took everything in her stride...

Alan – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Alan is a 3 year old neutered male medium mixed breed currently in Lincolnshire. He is iElisa negative. Alan is described as calm and people-focused. He enjoys staying close to his humans and settles well into routine. He is not highly energetic and prefers companionship and quiet time in the garden over long, demanding adventures. He is fully housetrained and sleeps through the night. He has interacted well with men and children. Alan generally respects other dogs’ space and is largely uninterested in them. However, he can show dominant behaviour towards younger or smaller dogs. For this reason, he would be happiest as an only dog or in a home without young or boisterous dogs. He has not yet begun formal lead training and will require patient introduction to walking equipment and structured guidance as this progresses. Alan would suit a calm, steady household looking for a relaxed companion dog who enjoys close human company and routine.

Bonnie – 3 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Bonnie, also known as Bonbon, is an approximately 3 year old spayed female large mixed breed currently in foster care in Doncaster. Bonnie is a gentle and sensitive dog who can be shy when meeting new people. She prefers a calm environment and takes time to build trust. Once bonded, she is affectionate and enjoys close companionship. She is not aggressive but can be nervous around unfamiliar visitors. A quiet household with limited visitors will help her feel secure. She benefits from patient handling and consistent routine. Bonnie thrives in the company of other dogs and must live with a calm, confident resident dog for reassurance and companionship. She has previously lived with cats and may attempt to initiate play, so slow and managed introductions are required. She is housetrained and crate trained. She sleeps overnight in her crate and can be left alone for short periods. Bonnie walks well on a lead in quieter areas but remains cautious in busier environments. She is curren...

Apollo – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Meet Apollo – a gentle soul ready for a new life. Apollo, a 3.5-year-old medium size cross-breed boy, whose life until now has been far from kind, has finally been freed from a life lived on a chain. Yet somehow, despite everything, he has held onto his sweetness, his trust, and his huge heart. Apollo is incredibly human-centred, affectionate, and loving — the kind of dog who just wants to be close to people and soak up kindness. He’s also an absolute dream at the vets, calm and cooperative — everyone who meets him falls for his sweet nature.
