Teddy – 7 year old male English Bulldog

Meet Teddy, a glorious 7-year-old English Bulldog currently living it up in his foster home in Newmarket, Suffolk — surrounded by toys, soft beds, and a fan club of humans who absolutely adore him. Now he’s ready for his forever family!

Teddy is a big-hearted, sofa-loving goofball who’s as chill as they come. He’s perfectly fine being left for 4–5 hours, making him a great match for someone who works part time — or even full time, if he gets a midday break for cuddles and garden time.

This big squishy gentleman needs to be the only dog in the home. He can be a bit of a “tough guy” around other males (his version of a headbutt test), though he’s more relaxed with females and small dogs. He hasn’t lived with cats, so a cat-free home is best.

Teddy would love to share his home with older, sensible kids (12+) who understand that Bulldogs are not built for chaos. He enjoys attention, playtime, and being doted on like the king he is.

When it comes to walks, Teddy’s style is short and sweet. A couple of gentle 15–30 minute strolls per day will do, with extra caution in warm weather — his breed isn’t built for the heat. Luckily, he also loves a car ride, looking absolutely regal while cruising around town.

Teddy’s favorite pastimes? Sleeping, playing, and absolutely annihilating tennis balls. He currently sleeps in his own bed in the bedroom — a good boy who likes being close to his humans.

Health Notes:
Teddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. His foster carer and vet team have done an incredible job getting him into great shape. His adopters must be committed to keeping up his care routine.

  • BOAS (airway check): Grade 1 (no surgery needed — great news!)

  • Allergies: Managed with a daily 16mg Apoquel tablet. Teddy must remain on a strict hypoallergenic diet (Royal Canin Anallergenic food).

  • Skin & Ear Care:

    • Ears: Cleaned twice weekly with Peptivet drops.

    • Paws & skin folds: Wiped twice daily with CLX wipes.

    • Cortavance spray every other day between pads.

    • If paws flare, he has steroid cream to manage irritation.

  • Eyes: Prone to ulcers; needs gentle monitoring.

  • Regular maintenance: Twice-daily cleaning of his adorable face folds and toes to prevent infection.

Teddy’s health is stable and well-managed — he’s proof that with proper care, Bulldogs can live happy, comfortable lives. His new family must be ready to continue this consistent routine with love and diligence.

Teddy’s Ideal Home:

  • Cat-free household

  • No other dogs (happiest as the only pet)

  • Older, calm children (12+) welcome

  • Owners home part-time or full-time with a midday break

  • Short daily walks and plenty of comfy nap spots

Teddy’s a total sweetheart who just wants affection, structure, and a sofa to claim as his throne.
