Alden – 5 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Alden is a 5 month old male Cross-Breed. He and Cain were two of a litter of eight puppies who were thrown over the garden fence of one of the rescuers we support in Bosnia. Despite arriving as little bundles of fur, they’ve received very little interest because of their typical ‘street dog’ look, but the longer they spend in the shelter the more they come to believe this is their normal. We want the boys to have the opportunity to socialise with other dogs and people, and investigate new environments whilst they’re still young, so they grow up to be confident. Luckily they are in a shelter which is able to provide lots of love and support as they have many volunteers. Cain and Alden have interacted with many people and made bonds with both adults and children. They have been taught to basics of lead walking and get along with other dogs out in the yard really well. Their first Christmas was spent in the shelter and the volunteers went out of their way to give them the best day. Lu

Samu – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Samu is a 2 year old male Cross-Breed. He was rescued from the streets of Bosnia where a passerby found him lying flat to the ground with blood coming from his back leg. At first they thought that Samu might have been shot by someone, but once he’d been checked over by a vet it became apparent that they were puncture wounds caused by other dogs. His wounds are now clean and healed, and he’s ready to find a home, but he has maintained a dislike of large, dominant male dogs. Now he’s at the shelter Samu’s confidence has improved and he’s found friends in other dogs of a similar temperament to him. He’s not particularly enjoying the cold weather right now, but he’d be having a far worse time if he was still out on the streets. He does actually enjoy his walks in the snow as long as they’re followed by lots of cuddles to warm him back up again! His lead walking has also improved a vast amount since he first arrived at the shelter and he gets really excited to go outdoors. He is loo

Neve – 1 year old female German Shepherd Cross

Image
Neve is a 1 year old female German Shepherd Cross. She was caught by the dog warden after being found wandering as a stray on the streets of Cyprus. She has now been in the pound for almost eight months without any interest whatsoever and is understandably becoming stressed and withdrawn the more time goes on. She arrived as a puppy, but she’s spent all of her early months stuck in a kennel. She is a Shepherd mix, so a high energy, intelligent and active girl who needs a home able to suit all of those needs. She would be best suited to someone who enjoys an outdoorsy lifestyle and would be able to have her accompany them regularly on long hikes through the countryside or daily jogs. She loves being outside and gets so excited to go for her walks with the volunteers each day. In her excitement, and because she’s receiving such limited exercise due to her environment, she does pull on the lead at the moment so will require some training in that area. She is also a young dog (around

Finch – 3 year old male English Setter

Image
Finch is a 3 year old male English Setter. He is a fantastic sadly looking for a new home. He was adopted along with his kennel mate in November 2020 but his adopters have had to make the heartbreaking decision that they aren’t able to fulfil his needs. He is currently in kennels in Nottingham until he finds a new home. When he first arrived in his UK home, the poor boy was terrified of everything, freezing on even the shortest, least stressful walks. He has come on in leaps and bounds since then and does well with the general coming and goings of walks and has warmed to his people very much! He isn’t the most high energy dog as far as working setters go. He walks well on his lead and his recall is quite promising, although it does still need some work. He loves snuffling and foraging too. He is a smart cookie and can figure most puzzles out when there’s food involved! He is doing well with some basics like sit, stay, wait, leave, as well as up and off. He is always going to be a
