Samu – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Samu is a 2 year old male Cross-Breed. He was rescued from the streets of Bosnia where a passerby found him lying flat to the ground with blood coming from his back leg.

At first they thought that Samu might have been shot by someone, but once he’d been checked over by a vet it became apparent that they were puncture wounds caused by other dogs.

His wounds are now clean and healed, and he’s ready to find a home, but he has maintained a dislike of large, dominant male dogs. Now he’s at the shelter Samu’s confidence has improved and he’s found friends in other dogs of a similar temperament to him.

He’s not particularly enjoying the cold weather right now, but he’d be having a far worse time if he was still out on the streets. He does actually enjoy his walks in the snow as long as they’re followed by lots of cuddles to warm him back up again!

His lead walking has also improved a vast amount since he first arrived at the shelter and he gets really excited to go outdoors. He is looking for a fairly active, semi-rural home. He will need a little patience as he adjusts to a very new environment, and his socialisation with new places, people and dogs should be done gradually.

He is looking for a home with access to a garden, and can be adopted with other friendly dogs who won’t try to bully him. As Samu has limited exposure to children we would suggest homes with children aged 8 and over only, although he has been great with the kids he has met so far. He is such a lovely, cheerful boy with an affectionate and friendly temperament and he would be over the moon to have his own humans.
