Neve – 1 year old female German Shepherd Cross

Neve is a 1 year old female German Shepherd Cross. She was caught by the dog warden after being found wandering as a stray on the streets of Cyprus. She has now been in the pound for almost eight months without any interest whatsoever and is understandably becoming stressed and withdrawn the more time goes on.

She arrived as a puppy, but she’s spent all of her early months stuck in a kennel. She is a Shepherd mix, so a high energy, intelligent and active girl who needs a home able to suit all of those needs. She would be best suited to someone who enjoys an outdoorsy lifestyle and would be able to have her accompany them regularly on long hikes through the countryside or daily jogs.

She loves being outside and gets so excited to go for her walks with the volunteers each day. In her excitement, and because she’s receiving such limited exercise due to her environment, she does pull on the lead at the moment so will require some training in that area.

She is also a young dog (around one year) and therefore a lot of her pent up energy comes from adolescence. She is so keen to please and is very friendly with all of the volunteers, but you can tell she is bored out of her mind caged in the pound all day. She’s constantly trying to get out to see the other dogs to play with them, and when she gets an opportunity to run free in the yard she’s like a cheetah.

She absolutely loves it. She isn’t suitable for a home with cats, and due to her energy we would suggest a home with older hildren would be better for her. She loves a fuss and is very affectionate and friendly, so we don’t doubt once she’s adopted she will show nothing but devotion to her new family.

She is healthy and ready to travel to the UK when her forever home finally finds her. She’s watched so many of her friends join the pound and then leave to catch their flight, but she’s never been lucky enough to get that opportunity as of yet.
