Finch – 3 year old male English Setter
Finch is a 3 year old male English Setter. He is a fantastic sadly looking for a new home. He was adopted along with his kennel mate in November 2020 but his adopters have had to make the heartbreaking decision that they aren’t able to fulfil his needs. He is currently in kennels in Nottingham until he finds a new home.
When he first arrived in his UK home, the poor boy was terrified of everything, freezing on even the shortest, least stressful walks. He has come on in leaps and bounds since then and does well with the general coming and goings of walks and has warmed to his people very much! He isn’t the most high energy dog as far as working setters go.
He walks well on his lead and his recall is quite promising, although it does still need some work. He loves snuffling and foraging too. He is a smart cookie and can figure most puzzles out when there’s food involved! He is doing well with some basics like sit, stay, wait, leave, as well as up and off.
He is always going to be a nervous boy who needs help managing his stress levels. He needs a home where he can live a quiet life with no children. Adopters need to keep his world small for as long as he needs. Finch needs a quiet safe space to sleep where he isn’t disturbed and feels secure. He is looking for patient adopters who can adapt to his needs and with a resident dog.
He was seen wondering the streets of a town in North Spain. He was picked up and taken to a pound before the shelter we work with, heard about him and brought him to the shelter. He went to a home in the UK with his playmate in November 2020. He is now in kennels in Nottingham waiting for his new home. He was born 31st August 2018.
If you are interested in giving Finch, he is available at Setter Brittany Pointer Rescue. Finch is currently in kennels in Nottingham but his bag is packed and he is ready to travel to a new home.
