Vinnie – 5 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Vinnie is reactive to people visiting the home which can cause him to bark and growl at them. Vinnie will need a home with minimal visitors and someone willing to continue building his confidence and provide training. Vinnie is a very loyal, loving and affectionate dog. He isn’t a fan of baths or showers and hates being wet however he takes this in his stride. He loves cuddles and getting lots of attention from his favourite people however he equally likes his own space in the home to be able to settle and have some alone time. He loves being outside in the garden and is a super playful boy who loves his toys, especially anything that squeaks and he will spend hours chewing his bones. Vinnie accepts a collar, harness and lead. He is very strong on the lead and does pull however he will calm down and responds well to heal. He can however be reactive towards other dogs on walks which causes him to bark, growl and squeal, this is due to excitement and not aggression. Once he has sai...

Jake – 12 year old male Cross Breed

Image
Jake can bark and growl at people initially visiting the home. He will settle down eventually once he knows the other person isn’t a threat. Jake needs to gain trust with anyone new, he hasn’t been well socialised and unfortunately this has impacted his anxieties now. His family have spoken with a dog trainer who has said that his reactivity is due to fear. Jake is a lovely boy with the people he trusts most. He is a very fun to be around. He loves treats, cuddles and going for walks so he can sniff all the lovely new smells. He is a loyal and loving companion. Jake accepts a collar and lead. He is very good on his walks, he will walk quickly initially due to excitement. Jake is generally walked in very quiet areas away from other stimuli and a home in a similar area will be ideal for him. He hasn’t shown any reactivity towards bikes which have gone past. Jake is still very active for his age and would like a home who can give him lots of lovely walks. Jake is toilet trained but is...

Iru – 5 year old female English Setter

Image
Iru is a 5-year-old female English Setter. Iru’s life took a sad turn when her hunter discarded her, but she’s kept her spark and loving nature. She’s described as incredibly affectionate, practically bursting with joy when she sees the shelter staff. Her favourite activities include cuddles and belly rubs, and she’ll flop onto her back without hesitation for a good tummy scratch. She’s gentle, submissive, and gets along perfectly with dogs of all genders. Iru’s adaptability is impressive — she’d be content either as the only dog or in a multi-dog household, as long as she’s got her humans around most of the time. Her sweet, patient temperament also makes her fantastic with children. Iru is medium-sized, weighing about 16kg, and she can also live with cats. Currently in Spain, she’s all set to travel to the UK to find her forever family.

Oki – 14 year old male English Setter

Image
Oki is a large English Setter, 14 years old. Oki, affectionately known as Oski in Spain, was left tied to a vehicle by his hunter in the Basque Country at the grand age of 14. He’s now safely at our kennels in Northern Spain thanks to kind donations which allowed us to help him. Sadly this isn’t a unique situation as dogs get too old to hunt. Oki is one of the lucky ones who has been given the opportunity to find a home as often hunters get rid of the dogs by other means. He’s a very good natured boy, very sociable with all the dogs at the shelter and is very loving with people, despite not being shown much love back in his life. Sadly, Oki hasn’t received much care in his life and he arrived very matted, so has had to have a lot of fur removed and he’s also due some dental work which will be done before he travels. We also believe he can’t see or hear very well but he copes very well. He’s still active despite his age and likes to go outside at the shelter with his friends. He’s ...

Kobi – 6 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Meet Kobi – A playful pup Location: Ayr Date of Birth: 10th December 2024 Kobi is Tiggy’s last remaining puppy and he’s grown into quite the handsome young man. The biggest of his litter, Kobi is already larger than his mum but is only expected to medium in size once fully grown. When Kobi first arrived, he was the most timid of his siblings – shy, nervous, and unsure of the world. But with patience, love, and time, he’s blossomed into a happy, playful, and affectionate young lad. He’s still a little clumsy and full of energy, which only adds to his charm! Kobi’s Highlights: 1. Friendly and sweet-natured 2. Crate trained and clean in the house 3. A cuddle monster once he knows you 4. Good with people – just needs gentle introductions 5. A bit barky with unfamiliar dogs, but not aggressive, just unsure 6. Hasn’t started lead training yet – but he’s smart and eager to learn Kobi’s Perfect Home: 1. Hugo – 8 year old male Beagle Cross

Image
Meet HUGO Our Adorable 8-Year-Old Beagle Cross – The Cutest Senior Boy You’ll Ever Meet! This sweet boy was found running scared on the streets just two months ago, but he’s come a long way since then. Now, he’s looking for his forever retirement home where he can relax, play, and enjoy the simple joys of life. At 8 years old, he’s a neutered sugar-kissed face gentleman with the most adorable, expressive ears that are sure to melt your heart. This senior fellow still loves to run around and play, and he’s excellent on a lead with just a little correction. Food is his best friend, and he’s motivated by treats, so he’s easy to please! One of his favourite things in the world is having his ears massaged – the look on his face and the adorable little sounds he makes when you rub his ears are absolutely priceless! Roundi – 5 year old male Jack Russell Terrier Cross

Image
Roundi is a 5 -year- old Jack Russell Terrier cross boy with the most beautiful brindle coat. Roundy was found wandering the streets of the town looking for food he had no collar or microchip and was all skin and bone and desperately in need of safety and security. We think, based on his initial behaviour he had been ill-treated, probably by a man as he was very nervous with the male volunteers and visitors at the shelter. This gorgeous boy has now spent over 2 years in a shelter waiting for his Special Person Roundy is a loving, energetic boy. He enjoys running and sniffing in the yard and he gets on well with the other dogs in the shelter. He always comes to volunteers for cuddles and kisses and is particularly partial to having his belly scratched. Roundi enjoys walking with a volunteer and exploring the neighbourhood and is always friendly with people, but can be picky when it comes to choosing dogs to be his friends. He is JR after all! We would like to find Roundi his forever...

Mike – 2 year old male Cavapoo

Image
Mike is a 2-year-old male Cavapoo and an emotional little soul who’s still figuring out how to trust the world. He’s not quite ready to be a lap dog, but he’s taking baby steps toward love. Right now, he prefers to sit quietly with his favourite teddy bear, watching the world go by. Mike needs a calm, understanding adult-only home close to Leicestershire (because he’s not a fan of travelling—at all). His sensitivity means he’s uncomfortable at the vet and with handling, so his new humans will need to go slow, respect his space, and let him blossom at his own pace. House training is coming along, and although he’s not ready for big adventures yet, he might eventually enjoy exploring once his confidence builds.

Demis – 2 year old male Pointer Cross

Image
Demis is a 2-year-old male Pointer Cross currently waiting in Cyprus for his forever home in the UK. This gorgeous boy is bursting with love, energy, and the potential to be someone’s perfect companion. Friendly and affectionate, Demis thrives on human connection and would do well either as the only dog or living alongside a resident dog. He’s all about that family life—he just hasn’t found his yet. He still needs some basic training and socialisation, especially when it comes to walking nicely on the lead (yep, he’s a bit of a puller). But don’t let that fool you—he’s not destructive and can be left alone for short periods without turning your house into a war zone. A spacious garden where he can zoom around would be his absolute dream. Demis is suitable for homes with children aged 12 and up, and with the right guidance, he’s going to be an incredible addition to the family. He’ll come vaccinated, travel-ready, and with full rescue back-up, because this boy isn’t just being ship...

Carol – 1 year old female Labrador Retriever cross Maremma Sheepdog

Image
Carol is a 1-year-old female Labrador Retriever cross Maremma Sheepdog. Weighing in at 35kg, she’s a solid, beautiful girl with a heart full of love just waiting to be shared. Her early life wasn’t easy—she and her little sister were found abandoned and starving in the Italian countryside. But despite that rough start, Carol’s spirit hasn’t been broken. She’s a little shy at first, but once you’ve earned her trust (which just takes a bit of calm and patience), Carol opens up into a sweet, sociable, and playful companion. She gets along well with other dogs and even cats—an all-around friendly girl. She’s good with adults, and with children she just needs a gentle approach and a peaceful environment to build confidence and feel secure. Right now, Carol lives in a fenced area with lots of other dogs, but she dreams of so much more. She wants the freedom to run, the safety of a home, and the warmth of a family who sees past her quiet start and embraces all the love she has to offer. ...

Freddie – 7 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Freddie is a 7-year-old male Cross-Breed. He’s currently living in a loving foster home in Norfolk, where he’s surrounded by caring humans, dog friends, and even a cat who apparently thinks it’s one of the pack. Freddie’s had quite the journey—originally from Romania, he spent over five years in a home before sadly being returned due to his sensitivity to loud noises and the arrival of a new baby. Though he’s a larger dog in size, Freddie is all heart and very sensitive at his core. He’s not a fan of loud or sudden noises, and busy, bustling environments make him anxious. For this reason, he needs a calm, quiet home—somewhere peaceful and predictable, ideally in a rural or low-traffic area. Freddie is not suited to a city lifestyle or a home with children, but he would thrive in a calm, adult-only home with understanding people who get that he’s a bit of a gentle soul. He does well with dog-savvy cats and currently lives with other dogs. He adores playing with his best friend, a s...

Ollie – 1 year old male Spaniel Cross

Image
Ollie is a 1-year-old male Spaniel Cross. Weighing around 10kg, he’s the perfect size to accompany you on walks, snuggle on the sofa, and squeeze into your heart. This handsome little guy was rescued from a busy road in Cyprus, skinny and alone, but thanks to a kind couple, he’s had a second chance—and wow, has he flourished. Now living in a foster home, Ollie has blossomed into the dream companion. He’s friendly, affectionate, and social with both people and animals. Fully housetrained and great on the lead, he’s already got the good-boy starter pack nailed. He loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs, and his laid-back, sociable nature makes him a great addition to most homes. Ollie can live with cats, gets along well with other dogs, and would be a good match for a home with children aged 12 and up. Whether it’s a family, a couple, or a single person, Ollie’s main requirement is simple—someone to love him back. He’s ready to pack his bags and head to the UK this Jul...

Layla – 21 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Layla is a medium-sized female Cross-Breed and is around 21 months old. We just love watching dogs like Layla transform under our care. Within a couple of weeks of being with us, this beautiful dog is nothing like the timid girl we saw at the start! Layla was found as a stray by a caring animal lover who didn’t just turn her back as so many do. She reached out to a dog rescuer that we know and trust, who in turn asked us for help. As soon as we had a kennel free, Layla joined us at the sanctuary. Layla is a gorgeous young dog! She’s playful and enjoys running after balls and toys in the yard. From what we’ve seen so far, she doesn’t have an issue with other dogs. When she’s out, she greets all the other dogs in their kennels and is wagging and friendly. She was most likely chased away by quite a few people when she lived as a stray, so she can be a little wary when meeting new people. But that wariness lasts only a few minutes. As soon as she knows that you’re friendly, she’s ready...

Duke – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Duke fostered Royston Herts Duke is a medium sized mixed breed dog aged around three years old. Duke was found wandering around the fields outside a private shelter in Romania looking scared and confused. Despite being shy, Duke really wanted to be saved. After a few days of building his trust, he followed a volunteer straight in through the shelters gates. This was around 2 years ago and we’ve only now had the space to take him here in a UK foster home. Duke is a sweet and mild mannered boy, he’s initially a little wary of strangers but extremely affectionate once he knows you. Duke really does not take long to warm up to new friends, in half a day he will be on your lap. Duke was initially scared of walking through doorways suggesting that he had never been in a house before but he cracked this very quickly and soon after that discovered the joys of the sofa. Duke still shows some signs of past trauma in that he appears to have nightmares. He will jump awake or yelp suddenly fro...

Tommy – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Tommy is a 1.5 year old male Cross-Breed, medium in size. He was rescued exactly a year ago from horrid circumstances, having been thrown into a yard with his sister, Suzy, at just a few weeks of age. They lived on piles of rubbish, frequently escaping due to inadequate fencing and roaming the streets among busy traffic, constantly in danger. When rescued, they were emaciated and full of parasites. Tommy and Suzy can be rehomed together or separately. Tommy has grown to be a kind-natured, healthy dog who is active and playful according to his age. He is medium-sized and has a lovely happy character. He is very affectionate with people and friendly around kids, too. Tommy is the more human-centred of the siblings. He loves giving kisses and is a lapdog by nature. He is also playful and happy around other dogs. Tommy would be happiest in a family where he is not left alone for extended periods and there is time for his training. We want him to be treated as a treasured member of th...

Thor – 2 year old male Brittany Spaniel cross Springer Spaniel

Image
Thor is a 2-year-old male Brittany cross Springer Spaniel. This handsome boy was rescued from Andalusia, Spain, where he was previously used as a hunting dog. Thankfully, unlike many in similar situations, he had been treated with a bit more kindness. His life turned upside down when his owner became terminally ill, and the owner’s wife couldn’t manage both caregiving and looking after Thor and Linda, his canine companion. Thor is a gentle and affectionate soul who has built strong bonds with the ladies at the shelter. Though he’s been struggling to adjust to life without his family, he’s made new dog friends and shows particular affection for Linda, his longtime playmate. While it would be a dream to see them rehomed together, separate applications are welcome if it helps him escape the shelter sooner. He’s already shown he can live happily with children and other dogs, but any new home must have a friendly resident dog to help build his confidence. Thor’s sweet nature and love...

Alfie – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Alfie is a 3-year-old male Cross-Breed. He’s a quirky little guy with a unique build—short legs paired with a medium-sized body—basically your classic Romanian cross. His unusual proportions only add to his charm, and if you’re into dogs that stand out in a crowd, Alfie’s your man. He’s incredibly friendly with women but can be a bit wary around men. Because of that, he’d be best suited to an all-female home or a household with experience in managing cautious behaviour. He’s not aggressive—just a little choosy about his company, like your dog-shaped introverted best mate. Alfie is good with other dogs, which makes him a solid candidate for a multi-dog home. He comes fully neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, so he’s all prepped and polished for his forever family. He’ll even arrive at your doorstep via registered pet transport, making the adoption process smooth and stress-free. The rescue also offers full rescue backup (RBU), so you’re not left in the dark once he’s home. Alf...

Jerry – 1 year old male Lurcher

Image
Jerry is a 1-year-old male Lurcher. And yes, he’s every bit as gorgeous as advertised — twice over, even. With his cheerful, social nature and lovely manners, Jerry is the kind of dog who just brings instant good vibes wherever he goes. He’s a total people-pleaser who adores attention, and he walks beautifully on the lead like an absolute pro. He’s friendly with dogs of all shapes and sizes, which makes him a great option for a multi-dog home. That said, he’s got a lively streak, so an active household where he can stretch those long legs and burn off some energy would be ideal. He’s not just good-looking — he’s got the personality to match. Basically, Jerry’s the full canine package. He’s castrated, microchipped, and has already had his first vaccination. He’s not suitable to live with cats or small furries — he’s a Lurcher, after all — but he’d do well in a home with children aged 8 and up. Jerry is based in Cambridgeshire and is all prepped and ready to leap straight into some...
