Bart and Amora – 9 year old male Podenco Cross and 12 year old female Bullbreed Cross

Image
Bart, a 9 and a half-year-old male Podenco and Ibizan Hound cross, and Amora, a 12-year-old female Bullbreed cross, are an inseparable pair seeking a new home together. With a strong bond developed over six years, first in a kennel and later in a UK home, Amora is a gentle, affectionate dog with a black and white coat, while Bart is a timid boy with a short tan coat, part Podenco and Ibizan Hound mix. Both dogs, used to a large garden and living in their annexe, require an experienced home following the recent passing of their owner. Amora has a touch of arthritis, and DogwatchUK will cover her pain relief for life. The pair is good on a lead but hasn’t had much lead work recently. Integration into family life, gentle walks, and a preference for no small children under 15 are essential for their well-being. In a foster home in Solihull, West Midlands, Bart and Amora are adapting well to changes, responding positively to gentle walks and family interaction. While no information ...

Pepe – 6 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Image
Pepe is a 6-year-old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a striking light honey brindle and white coat that is soft and short. Standing at 23 inches tall and weighing 24 kg, he is a handsome and gentle chap currently in Spain. Unfortunately, Staffordshire Bull Terriers face challenges in Spain due to local regulations requiring a license and a muzzle for this breed. Pepe was abandoned at just three years old and has spent months in a pound, waiting for the chance to find a loving home. Pepe shares his kennel with two younger dogs, getting along well with them and enjoying their company. He is very friendly and outgoing, with a gentle disposition that makes him a wonderful companion. While he hasn’t had much exposure to cats, this can be tested if necessary. Pepe would do well in a home with or without another dog and is suitable for a household with children aged 12 or older. Pepe’s current situation is dire, as the pound he is in plans to transfer all its Lorca dogs to a facility...

Raya – 3 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Raya is a 3-year-old female Cross-Breed with a striking tri-colour coat of black, tan, and white. Medium in size, Raya has a soft, short coat and is in good physical condition. She is a friendly, attentive dog who knows some commands and forms strong bonds with her carers. Despite her affectionate personality, Raya has spent the last year in a pound and now urgently needs a loving home. Raya shares her kennel with other young dogs and gets along well with them, making her a favourite among volunteers. She enjoys her walks and is easy to handle on the lead. Although she hasn’t been exposed to cats much, she can be tested if required. Her ideal home would include another dog for companionship and children over 12 years old, as she has no experience with younger children. Raya’s adoption is partially sponsored, lowering the cost to encourage her placement in a forever home. Unfortunately, she faces the additional challenge of being transferred to a harsher pound in January unless she ...

Mila – 6 month old female Dachshund Cross

Image
MILA is just above 6-month-old Dachshund cross with unique “owl” eyes and an adorable smile that will light up any room. Small in stature but sturdy, she’s almost fully grown, with just a little more to go. MILA is a Ukraine war dog in need of a safe haven, coming to the UK after New Year. Available for a foster-to-adopt. Quick Facts: SIZE: Small (29 cm / 10 kg, with slight growth expected) SPAYED: No (spaying agreement applies after her first season) CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Affectionate, playful, active, and trusting DOGS: Loves all dogs CATS: Untested CHILDREN: Best with older children due to playful jumping Rescue Story Thrown into a private yard in a village with her sibling at just 3 months old, MILA’s life began in heartbreak. Volunteers rushed to save them, but tragically, MILA’s sibling had already been given away to someone in a village to live as a yard dog on a...

Sam – 10 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Sam, also known as Hugo, is around 10 years old and is desperately needing a new home. He was used to home life and is not happy in kennels. He is very active for his age and can still do zoomies, being the best walking companion one could ask for. Sam can be choosy with who he likes, so he needs time to get to know you, but once the bond is there, he will be your loyal companion forever. Once bonded, he is a cuddly, loving, playful, funny boy with a gorgeous smile. Hugo is the protecting type. All he wants is to be the centre of your universe, and he will love you 100%. However, if he perceives a threat to you, he will guard you with his life. His ideal home would be a rural life in a croft setting with few distractions from visitors and other dogs. He would make a fabulous companion for someone living slightly off-grid who needs a guard dog by their side. Hugo walks using a harness and loves his walks and exploring. He would really like an active person to take him off into the ...

Russel – 8-9 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Russel is a medium sized crossbreed aged around eight to nine years old. Russel is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. This will be another brutally honest write up that will probably make you chuckle. Russel was in the Botosani public shelter up until around a year ago when he came to us in the UK. Several months on and we can groom, stroke and do all the necessary things for his daily care but he doesn’t like any of it….. and we suspect he doesn’t like us much either…. but that might just be his face! If you scroll through the photos in this album you will instantly see the disdain he holds for us, for walks, for everything that doesn’t allow Russell to do exactly what Russel wants to do! We find him amusing but in the rehoming prospects….. well people aren’t going to be beating down our door now are they? It is difficult to determine if he occasionally considers liking us because he does seem to care that we are here, but if he’s following us around and we notice and look at him he w...

Tallulah – 3 year old female Jack Russel Terrier cross Chihuahua

Image
Tallulah was recently taken by Safe Rescue from the dog warden as she was a stray and her time was up. Meet Tallulah fostered in necton – Norfolk. Tallulah is a 3 year old jrt/chi cross. She can be nervous at first of new people but soon comes round for fuss. She gets on ok with other dogs so could be rehomed with or without another dog. She is not cat tested. Tallulah can be very puppy like so boundaries and retraining are ongoing and we need someone who is happy to work with her, she can be rehomed and with dog savvy children over 10. Tallulah is a lovely bundle of joy who has not had the best start in life and deserves a 5-star home. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It w...

Reggie – 3 year old male Hound Cross

Image
Hi there, I’m Reggie, a 3 years old hound boy maybe with some shepherd genes in the mix. I may look like a big, tough hound, but I promise—I’m just a gentle soul with a heart full of love. I spent a long time wandering around by myself, always moving, always on the lookout. For a while, I didn’t know if there was anyone out there who could see me. People tried to help me, but I didn’t know if I could trust them—until one day, I made a brave decision. I crossed the road in front of a car (a bit scary, to be honest), but maybe that was my way of saying, “I’m ready. I’m ready to be found.” The wonderful human who almost hit me (don’t worry, she didn’t!) pulled over and said, “No more streets for you, Reggie.” And she kept her word. I went to the vet, and they told me they found, well… a few scars from things I don’t really like to think about. Let’s just say life wasn’t always easy, and I had to be brave. But now I’m safe. And I’m learning that not all people are like the ones who hur...

Blossom – 4 month old female Shepherd Cross

Image
Meet Blossom, a four month old female Shepherd Cross who is ready to find her forever home. Medium-sized as an adult, Blossom is one of four adorable sisters rescued after being abandoned in a cardboard box outside a shelter in Cyprus. Blossom, along with Brynn, Pixie, and Ivy, has been raised with love and care since her rescue. She is playful, trusting, and full of puppy energy, perfect for an active family with a garden and children aged 7 or older. While not yet lead trained, Blossom will thrive with consistent training and plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Shepherd breeds are known for their intelligence and loyalty, making Blossom a highly trainable and affectionate companion. She is currently based in Cyprus and ready to travel in January to a home committed to giving her the love and care she deserves.

Jordan – 1 year old male Miniature Pinscher Cross

Image
Jordan is a 1 year old male Miniature Pinscher Cross. Jordan and his two brothers were dumped in a pound in Cyprus after being found on the street as strays. Unfortunately, the dogs that end up in the council pounds have a really tough time and whilst one of Jordan’s brothers was adopted quickly, he and his other brother were left behind for months and months. Finally, we were able to give Jordan the opportunity to travel to a foster home in the UK and is now living in Berkshire, where he’s settling into life as a companion and learning what it’s like to finally live in a home environment. Despite living such a sheltered life up until now, Jordan is settling in so well and we’re so impressed at how adaptable he’s been despite being a naturally shy boy. Jordan is a small sized miniature pinscher cross breed and is absolutely beautiful. He has a gorgeous, sleek coat, very expressive ears, and looking past what’s on the outside Jordan is just generally a very good boy with a gentle a...

Ben – 7 year old male German Shepherd Cross

Image
Meet the lovely Ben, a 7 year old male German Shepherd Cross, recently arrived from Romania and now fostered in Plymouth. Ben is loving and enjoys strokes and snuggling up to you. He loves being outdoors and walks well on the lead, though he sometimes pauses and needs encouragement to keep going. Currently, Ben shows little interest in toys. He can occasionally mouth, so a home without children is necessary. Ben is vaccinated, blood-tested, microchipped, neutered, and has a passport. He would thrive in a quiet home with someone who has plenty of time for him and can take him out regularly. An adoption fee, home check, and rescue backup apply. Please consider this sweet boy! https://www.dogsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Facebook_creation_6FA089BF-3722-4769-9AAD-0138E7B56F46.mp4

Maxi – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Maxi is a small crossbreed aged around two years old. Maxi is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. Maxi’s story is a bit complex and mysterious. She was taken from the Botosani public shelter in Romania when she was a puppy (we think) by a rescue in Germany. Nothing was heard from her until a few weeks ago the volunteers at the shelter had a message to say she was on a van on the way back to Romania because her family no longer wanted her and they needed to arrange meeting the transport. Having never had contact with the adopters we have no idea what their excuse was. Returning her to Botosani would have been deeply cruel so she was kept in a private sanctuary until we could arrange for her to come to us. Maxi was underweight, not spayed and hadn’t been taught how to walk on a lead so goodness knows where she had been or what had happened in the months that she was there. We can only assess her from afresh now that she is in our care. She is shy and under socialised but is really trying ...

Hocus – 6 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Hocus is a small to medium sized male crossbreed. His passport claims him to be six years old but we believe him to be considerably older. Hocus is fostered in Lakenheath, Suffolk. Hocus arrived in our care around a year ago. He was not a fan of people generally and his rehabilitation was delayed by several months due to the fact that he had a stroke and we didn’t want to put him under any stress at all whilst he recovered. For several weeks/months his mobility and balance were impaired but recently he has been in good shape so we resumed his rehabilitation. Actually just having been around us for all that time had accelerated his progress quite a lot and lead training and handling were actually simpler than anticipated and he’s now ready to look for a new home. Hocus is a portly little chap who really likes his food but still isn’t completely convinced about human affection. He will allow us to stroke him but doesn’t yet push himself forward to ask for it. He’s still not keen on...

Jessie – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Jessie is a 2 year old female Cross-Breed. She came into the rescue from the street in a very poor state, she was skin and bone and hardly pulled through. She was nurtured back to health though, but sadly nobody really wanted to adopt her so far and she’s been living in the shelter since December 2022, totally undeserved. Jessie is a placid little dog, she is quite chilled and lives peacefully with all dogs in the shelter. Her best friend is Daisy, they hardly leave each other’s side and keep licking and kissing. She has a kind nature, is friendly with people and loves children too. She is adaptable, loves her food a lot and can be motivated nicely with treats. She also cooperates nicely with humans and comes back nicely when called. She could flourish and show a lot more of her true loving personality in a home where she gets the attention she so deserves. Jessie would be best suited for a home where she is not left alone for long periods and there is time for her training. She wi...
