Mona – 6 month old female Shepherd Cross

Image
Mona is a 6 month old female Shepherd cross. She is currently living in a foster home in Leeds and is available for meets and greets with potential adopters. Mona weighs 12kg now and is not expected to grow larger than 20-25kg. This sweet girl has been through a lot of hardship since she came into the world and would love to find a home and family to call her own. She was born in a work yard in Sarajevo, Bosnia in the middle of winter, and has survived almost freezing to death, serious illness, and being chased by dog catchers. Sadly, she lost half her tail before she was rescued, and she was in a lot of pain at the time. Fortunately, it doesn’t cause her any discomfort now and she loves to wag it! Despite everything she’s been through, she is so very, sweet, loving and gentle. She is still a puppy and loves to play and run around! Mona lives in a foster home with other dogs, and she could live with another dog (or dogs) or as an only dog. Mona is doing really well in her foster h...

Mylo – 6 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Mylo is a 6 year old neutered small mixed breed currently in foster in Staffordshire. He weighs approximately 14kg and stands around 47cm tall. He has a distinctive stump tail and a confident little character. Mylo previously spent a long period living as a stray before entering rescue. He has now settled well into foster care and is enjoying the comfort and routine of home life. He is affectionate but independent and prefers interaction on his own terms. He enjoys gentle fuss, especially belly rubs, and likes spending time pottering around the house before settling down nearby. Mylo is friendly with people but appreciates his personal space and will communicate when he has had enough attention. For this reason he would be best suited to an adult-only home. He can interact well with other dogs he feels comfortable around but does not enjoy overly energetic behaviour, particularly from puppies. He may be happiest as the only dog, although he could potentially share with a calm and r...

Sebastian – 19 month old male Toy Poodle

Image
Sebastian – 19-month-old Toy Poodle, currently being fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult home with other dogs. This handsome little chap came into our care from a breeder, having had very little experience of the outside world. He arrived as a completely terrified, shut-down little dog who simply didn’t know how to cope with everyday life. He was also in need of veterinary treatment. He had a badly infected mouth caused by retained baby teeth and painful ear infections. Underneath it all was a beautiful little dog who had simply never been given the opportunity to experience life beyond the environment he had always known. Sebastian is in a very experienced foster home with a wonderful group of confident dogs who have helped show him that the world isn’t quite so scary. The transformation has been incredible. If you have watched our videos from the day he arrived until now, you will see just how far this special little boy has come. However, despite all of his pr...

Cleo – 11 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Cleo is an adorable 11-month-old small mixed breed girl looking for a loving forever home. She and her three siblings were found abandoned as tiny puppies, all in very poor condition, frightened and unsure of the world around them. With their parents unknown and their future uncertain, all they had was each other. Thankfully, Cleo has blossomed into a wonderful young dog. Although naturally a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, she is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate once she feels safe. Her confidence continues to grow every day. She loves playing with other dogs and enjoys spending time with people she knows and trusts. Cleo would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can continue building her confidence at her own pace. In return, she will reward her family with unwavering loyalty and love. Cleo could happily live with another friendly well-balanced dog and she has all the potential to live with cats, too. As a small-sized girl, Cle...

Ariel – 6 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Ariel is a 6-year-old small-medium sized girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This feisty little terrier has been waiting in the shelter for over 3 years… far longer than any dog should have to wait. Ariel is full of character – a true terrier spirit. She’s lively, expressive and not afraid to let you know when she’s excited – it’s all part of her charm! She is affectionate with people and loves children, happily soaking up attention and enjoying being part of the action. Ariel forms lovely bonds and will be a loyal and loving companion to her family. With other dogs, she is friendly with most and enjoys their company, though like many terriers, she appreciates respectful introductions and a good match in energy. After spending such a long time in the shelter, Ariel truly deserves a home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be loved every day. She would love a family who will embrace her fun personality, include her in their lives, and give her the attentio...

Mousey – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Our extra special boy Mousey is approximately three years old and a really small little chap and quite possibly a Kokoni. Mousey weighs four and a half kilos and measures seven inches from shoulder to paw. Having been surrendered as no longer able to keep Mousey has been in our Cyprus shelter for two months. Our shelter manager describes Mousey as a very happy blend of shy and bubbly. He will undoubtedly blossom in a secure and loving forever home. Mousey is incredibly sweet and captures hearts instantly. His soft brown coat is delightful with a graduated tint of black and grey along his back. His greatest joys include a lap, a cuddle and one to one attention. Such a dear low maintenance little boy with endearing puppy dog eyes. Quite a prize for a fortunate adopting family. Mousey walks nicely on his lead and seems to enjoy his time in the car. He appears to mix perfectly well with other dogs, cats and children. https://www.dogsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/79c7ee7b-dd93-4...

Ala – 7 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Meet Ala, a 7 year old female Cross-Breed rescued from a kill shelter in Romania in December 2022. Her date of birth is estimated, and she is now spayed and fully vaccinated. Ala is a wonderful, gentle girl with a calm and sweet nature. She can be a little shy at first but is friendly with the people she knows and trusts. She is good with other dogs and currently shares her kennel, although very energetic dogs can feel a little overwhelming for her. For this reason, if homed with another dog, they would need to be calm and respectful. Ala has not yet been tested with cats or children, but this can be done if required. She would love a home with a secure garden and patient, loving adopters who can give her the time she needs to settle and feel safe. Ala would thrive in a peaceful environment where she can enjoy companionship, gentle walks, and a quiet, comfortable life. This lovely girl has been through so much and truly deserves a warm, loving home to call her own. A home check a...

Winnie – 3-4 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Winnie is a small crossbreed aged three to four years old. Winnie is fostered in Hingham Norfolk. Winnie came to us a a couple of years ago from the Radauti public shelter in Romania. She arrived terrified of everyone and everything but over time has emerged into a plucky and cheeky little character who is loved by all in her foster home. Winnie is still worried by strangers and doesn’t enjoy being picked up but in many ways is a quietly confident little girl who is very popular amongst the pack in her foster home. Winnie will need at least one other steady dog in her forever home. She enjoys her walks but is still a little worried about having her lead put on but this too is improving daily and she is becoming less tense about it. Winnie has been fine with the safe rescue cat. She would like a settled home environment with no children. Her adopters will need to allow her time to get to know and trust them but she will reward them when she reveals the sweet and clever little charac...

Pete – 18 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Pete is a large crossbreed aged around eighteen months old. Pete is fostered Norwich Norfolk. Pete and his siblings were found in a city in Romania in January 2025. Small pups, lost, wandering among cars and all sorts of dangers. The man who found them, being a friend of a friend, asked for Roxana’s help and they were taken to her shelter. Pete is a typical adolescent dog, clumsily learning the canine lessons of life. He is initially shy with new people and takes time to bond. He is not an overly affectionate dog but will always be close by. Pete would love to live with another playful dog but could go as the only dog. Pete could live with respectful children aged ten plus. He will need an adopter experienced with large breeds who has the time and patience to win his trust. TERMS AND CONDITIONS When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might u...

Prince – 20 month old male Lurcher

Image
Prince is a 20 month old Lurcher and he is looking for a new home. Although he’s not originally an Underdog, when we heard that he needed some support we wanted to try and help him. Unfortunately, Prince is living in a home that is not suitable for his needs. He has been struggling in the city and needs a less overwhelming environment to call home. He is also a very energetic boy, and is looking for an active, patient and understanding family. Prince is just under two years old and is a sighthound mix. He was part of an accidental litter, and was bought as a puppy, but has consistently struggled in London and requires a more experienced handler. With the support of a local day-care and dog walking business, Prince has had a lot more exposure to other dogs and new people, and he has made a lot of progress regarding his confidence and social skills. We think this will continue to improve in a semi-rural area. Prince is adorable and has a very loving, affectionate nature with those ...

Maddie – 1 year old female Labrador Retriever Cross

Image
MADDIE — EVERYTHING A FAMILY COULD HOPE FOR! Maddie is a female lab mix,1 year old. The hardest thing about Maddie is knowing that a dog this beautiful inside is still waiting for someone to see her. She is only one year old. Still at the very beginning of her life. And she already carries the kind of nature that people spend years hoping to find in a dog. Maddie is gentle in a way that reaches straight into your heart. She is quiet, affectionate and soft in everything she does. She is simply a kind girl who makes being beside her feel peaceful. She walks beautifully on the lead. She is wonderful with other dogs. She is cat-friendly. And she is incredibly gentle and friendly with children. Freya – 10 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Freya is a large crossbreed female aged around ten years old. Freya fostered Kings Lynn Norfolk. She was found in bushes in Crivatu Romania a few years ago and was taken to the private shelter nearby. She is a calm and steady girl who still enjoys short walks. She mixes well with all dogs but is quite a dominant member of the pack. She keeps all the youngsters at the shelter in check with a firm but fair approach and they all love and respect her for that. She could also live happily as the only dog in the home. Freya is an affectionate and loyal companion who would suit someone with large breed experience who can pamper her in her twilight years. She would be ok with respectful children aged twelve plus. TERMS AND CONDITIONS When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way t...

Orion – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Orion is a 1 year old, medium-large, male, Cross-Breed, who is a sweet, friendly, lovely boy waiting for his forever home. He has never truly known what it means to be a carefree puppy. He should be enjoying life in a loving home, cared for and cherished, warm at night instead of sleeping on a concrete floor. Confiscated from his owners, Orion and his three siblings have all been in the shelter since they were just young pups. Arguably, it was the best thing to happen to them, but now they each really need a home and family to call their own. Orion is a medium-large dog who will need ongoing training to help him settle into home life. He has gotten used to walking on a lead and is well behaved on walks. He is also wonderful with other dogs and children. Even though he is young, Orion and all of his siblings give off a lovely calming energy and we suspect they will be medium energy once in a home. Orion is far too young to spend his days in a shelter and has missed an important sta...

She enjoys nothing more than running around in the fields with other dogs, playing a chase. She cooperates nicely with humans too and is very kind with humans. Malna would be best suited for a family where she is not left alone for extended periods and she is included in her family’s activities. Malna would probably be happiest living with another playful dog but she could also live happily as the only dog and the centre of atten...

Maddie – 12 year old female English Springer Spaniel

Maddie is a 12-year-old Springer Spaniel currently being fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult family home with other dogs. Maddie recently joined the Starfish family after her previous owner sadly had to move and was unable to keep all of his dogs. Maddie is an ex-working gundog and had spent her entire life living in kennels. Heartbreakingly, when her owner could no longer keep his dogs, Maddie was facing euthanasia simply because there was nowhere for her to go. Thankfully, she is now safe with us and beginning the next chapter of her life. Despite never having lived in a house before, Maddie has settled beautifully into home life. She is a typical Spaniel who simply craves love and companionship. Wherever you are, she wants to be there too, usually lying beside you and making sure she’s touching you in some way. It is as though she is making up for all those years without the comforts of family life. She is a gentle, affectionate soul who loves nothing more than being ...
