Tommy – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Tommy is a 1.5 year old male Cross-Breed, medium in size. He was rescued exactly a year ago from horrid circumstances, having been thrown into a yard with his sister, Suzy, at just a few weeks of age. They lived on piles of rubbish, frequently escaping due to inadequate fencing and roaming the streets among busy traffic, constantly in danger. When rescued, they were emaciated and full of parasites. Tommy and Suzy can be rehomed together or separately. Tommy has grown to be a kind-natured, healthy dog who is active and playful according to his age. He is medium-sized and has a lovely happy character. He is very affectionate with people and friendly around kids, too. Tommy is the more human-centred of the siblings. He loves giving kisses and is a lapdog by nature. He is also playful and happy around other dogs. Tommy would be happiest in a family where he is not left alone for extended periods and there is time for his training. We want him to be treated as a treasured member of th...

Apple – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Apple is a two year old female Cross-Breed and is medium in size. This sweet girl is initially very nervous but has made significant strides in adapting to her environment. She now relaxes while kennel staff clean or feed, lying down calmly and happily accepting treats directly from hands. Apple becomes particularly enthusiastic and waggy at dinner time, showing her love for food. Apple’s history with collars, harnesses, and leads is limited in the kennel setting. She reportedly walked on a harness in her previous home, but due to her nervousness, this has not yet been attempted in the kennel. There is no information available on how she behaves on walks or around other people, dogs, children, or stimuli outside the kennel environment. When it comes to other dogs, Apple has lived with them and does well, particularly with confident dogs her size or larger. She may attempt to assert dominance over smaller dogs. While she had minor scraps with her kennel mate early on, likely due to...

Txispa – 7 year old female English Setter

Txispa is a 7-year-old female English Setter. She is a gentle girl who was abandoned by a hunter after being deemed not good enough, but her spirit is still full of happiness and love. Despite her past, she radiates warmth and positivity, making her a truly endearing companion. She is affectionate, sociable, and kind with everyone she meets, always eager to be part of a family’s life. Txispa is especially good with children, showing patience and gentleness that would make her a wonderful family dog. This lovely Setter carries herself with lively energy and a joyful personality. She is waiting for the right family who will appreciate her good-natured character and provide her with the love she has always deserved. Although she hasn’t been tested with cats yet, this can be arranged if needed.

Ginny – 3 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Ginny is a smallish crossbreed aged around three years old. Ginny is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. We met Ginny in the Botosani public shelter in Romania during our trip there in October. She was abandoned there as a nursing mum with pups. Whilst she was feeding the pups she was relatively safe in the squalid conditions there. Once the pups were old enough to be taken from her to the puppy block she then had to be mixed with other adults and had a really traumatic time. When we arrived she had just been attacked for the second time and had to be taken for veterinary treatment. We found her a pen with very placid dogs and she was much happier, but when we left we were worried that when those dogs left for adoption she would again be in danger. Thankfully her day to leave on transport came around without further incident and she’s now happily in the UK. Ginny is initially shy with new people but when she gets used to them she is a happy waggy tailed girl who enjoys human company. Sh...

Lenny – 7 month old male Labrador Retriever cross Pointer

Image
Lenny is a 7 month old male Labrador Retriever cross Pointer who’s currently living in a foster home in Hampshire after arriving from Cyprus in June. Born in a shelter, he’s learning what it means to live the good life — and he’s already making amazing progress. Lenny is currently in a foster home in Hampshire after arriving from Cyprus in June. He’s a beautiful Labrador/Pointer mix and is now around seven months old. Lenny was born in the shelter and had never known life outside of it until recently, so the transition into a home environment has been a big and sometimes overwhelming change for him. That said, he is already making fantastic progress, and his gentle, affectionate nature is starting to shine through. When Lenny first arrived, he was frightened and completely shut down. He didn’t want to be touched, moved stiffly around the house, and was very unsure of his new surroundings. With time, patience, and consistency, he has begun to form a trusting bond with his foster care...

Sika – 7 month old female Labrador Retriever cross Pointer

Image
Sika is a 7 month old female Labrador Retriever cross Pointer currently in a foster home in Dumfries, Scotland. She was born in the shelter in Cyprus and travelled to the UK in March in the hope of finding her forever home. She’s a clever, cuddly, and affectionate young dog who’s looking for a committed, cat-free home where she can continue building her confidence and trust in the world around her. Sika is a very affectionate dog who thrives on human company. She adores curling up close, snoozing at your feet or on your lap, and is never short of cuddles to give. She’s a very loving girl with a very warm, loyal character. She’s also playful and silly, and loves racing around the garden with a toy in her mouth, or offering a high five in return for blueberries, her fave snack! She’s housetrained, crate trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. She’s settled beautifully into home life and is content to rest quietly when someone she trusts is nearby. Sika is good on the lead and ...

Parker – 18 month old male Hound Cross

Image
Parker is an 18 month old male Hound Cross from Cyprus who is currently living in a foster home in Duns. He’s got all the energy, enthusiasm, and playfulness you’d expect from a large adolescent dog. Sadly, he wasn’t the right fit for his previous home, but his foster carer describes him as a confident, good-natured companion who is still learning the ropes but has so much potential in a home better suited to his temperament. Parker is a mixture of silly and sweet. He’s a playful boy who enjoys the simple things in life: stretching out in the grass, sniffing the world around him, and galloping around in open space. He is housetrained, sleeps well through the night, and is generally quiet at home. Although Parker has only been in the UK since the 20th July, it’s evident that he’s looking for a more outdoorsy home with a secure garden, something that unfortunately he doesn’t have currently. Parker absolutely loves attention and is very affectionate with people he knows. He can be a l...

Szépség – 4 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Szépség is a 4.5 month old male Cross-Breed who was rescued from a deprived area in Hungary at just 6 weeks of age. He’s expected to be medium-sized when fully grown. This little boy is nothing but kindness, he has such a soft nature, more on the submissive side. His name means “beauty” in Hungarian and he really is beautiful inside and out! He is sweet with people, very affectionate and always looking for human company. He is friendly and sociable with the other doggies, too. He is open and intelligent, a playful pup according to his age. He needs to be provided full puppy training including toilet training and walking on the lead. He would be happiest in an active home where he is treated as a member of the family and is included in their activities. He currently lives among dogs and cats without any issues. Older, dog savvy children will be considered. He will need to be provided with standard puppy training and must be given time to settle in his new home. Szépség is current...

Xavier – 4 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Xavier is a 4 year old male Crossbreed, currently in a UK foster home in Berkshire. He was rescued from a municipal pound that we work with in Southern Spain. He is 57 cm tall and weighs 30 kg. Meet lovable Xavier, who is ready for his forever family – could it be you? Personality and Temperament: Xavier is a clever and inquisitive dog, who has blossomed since being in foster care. Initially nervous and anxious, especially about returning to confined spaces, he has shown remarkable adaptability and now thrives in a home environment. Xavier enjoys the comfort of sofas and is very affectionate, offering cheeky and playful interactions with his foster siblings. While he can be a bit overenthusiastic at times – occasionally trying to mark over other dogs – he is also respectful and learns boundaries quickly. Behaviour and Training: Xavier walks nicely on lead and has shown great intelligence and eagerness to interact with both humans and dogs. He may bark at other dogs if they do not...

Ginger – 3 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Ginger is a 3-year-old female Cross-Breed. She is a rather small crossbreed at the very bottom end of medium, weighing just eleven kilograms and measuring eleven inches from shoulder to paw. Ginger has been in our Cyprus shelter for several months after being found abandoned on the streets. Our shelter manager describes Ginger as equally fun-loving and lively, with a huge personality for a little dog and a smile that melts many hearts. Ginger’s greatest joy is social interaction. She loves a cuddle, a lap, and a game. She will thrive in a busy, fun-loving household with a nice garden to play in and plenty of walks. Such a wonderful character. Ginger walks nicely on her lead. She seems to mix perfectly well with other dogs and children. She is now in Banstead, Surrey.

Raphael – 4 year old male Griffon

Image
Raphael is a 4-year-old male Griffon who is currently outside the UK. He weighs 13kg and is a gentle, submissive dog. He is good on the lead and is especially friendly with other dogs, both male and female. In fact, Raphael would thrive best in a home where he has another dog for companionship. He has met children aged 8 and 15 and has been good with them, making him suitable for a home with older children. Raphael has not been tested with cats, which means his compatibility with them is unknown. His submissive nature is clear in his behaviour — when he doesn’t understand what you want, he will fall to the ground and roll over, showing you his belly. Raphael is affectionate, loving, and playful, and he adores following his person around. He is very sensitive to tone, reacting positively when spoken to kindly. His history suggests he may have experienced aggressive or punishment-based training in the past, so he will benefit from patient, confidence-building guidance. Full rescue b...

Marcy – 15 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Marcy is a 15 month old female Cross-Breed who was found living as a stray on the beach in Cyprus, surviving off scraps and the kindness of strangers. Timid but never aggressive, she watched the world with quiet curiosity, just hoping for someone to give her a chance. Now safe in kennels, she’s slowly starting to come out of her shell. She’s gentle, observant, and beginning to accept affection from the kennel team, especially from those who move at her gentle pace. She is also very good and playful with the other dogs. She hasn’t lived in a home yet, so she’ll need someone patient and understanding to guide her through that transition. A calm, experienced home is essential, preferably with someone familiar with shy or under-socialized dogs who can help her build confidence and discover what it means to be truly loved. She also needs another friendly dog around that would help her settle and make her feel safer. She may not know what a home feels like yet—but she knows she wants ...

Truffles – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Truffles is a small dog, weighing approximately 10kg and 42cm tall. He is currently in a UK foster home. He was rescued from the municipal pound without any history. Truffles is a great dog—he is very much a people dog and gets on well with all of the other dogs at the shelter. He is quite an active dog and loves going out to play and run with the other dogs, especially Juno, who is his favourite girlfriend as she matches his energy levels. He shares a kennel with her, and they get on superbly well. However, he is also quite happy to just go off and do his own thing if nobody wants to play. Truffles can be a little growly with other dogs around his food while he is eating, but once he has finished, he will leave his bowl and is not possessive of it. If Truffles is adopted by a family with a resident dog, they must understand that it is likely that he has had to search for food and is therefore quite attached to his bowl around other dogs. Truffles would therefore be better with a do...

Fiesta – 7 year old female Podenco

Image
Fiesta is a 7-year-old female Podenco. She’s got that classic Podenco charm—elegant, calm, and gentle—but with her own sweet twist. She’s described as a straightforward girl, which basically means she doesn’t come with drama or diva demands. She’s already lived a bit of life and knows the ropes, so she’s not the type to flip out over every new thing. Fiesta is fantastic with other dogs and would actually prefer a home with a canine buddy. She’s a social girl, not a lone wolf. While she hasn’t lived with cats before, there’s no red flag that says she wouldn’t be okay with them. When it comes to people, she’s totally chill with children of all ages, which makes her an excellent fit for family life. She walks like a dream on the lead and genuinely enjoys her time outdoors. Whether it’s a casual stroll or a sniff-heavy adventure, she’s down for it. Inside the home, she’s already housetrained—no surprises on the carpet—and her personality is described as sweet and gentle. Honestly, she...
