Sumo is a 2-3-year-old male Labrador/Shepherd Cross. He was found roaming as a stray before being picked up by the local dog warden and brought to a shelter in Cyprus. Sadly, he had no microchip, and no one came forward to claim him. He has now spent over six months in the shelter, often overlooked due to his large size, but he is still waiting for his perfect forever home. When Sumo first arrived, he was underweight, with a dirty and patchy coat, and sores from poor living conditions. Over time, with proper care, he has transformed into a healthy, strong dog with a soft white coat. He has expressive ears, kind eyes, and a loving personality. Meet Merry, a delightful Bluetick Coonhound cross, currently living in Cyprus. Merry and his companion, Pippin, were found living outside a workspace when they were rescued. Thankfully, space was available to take them in, but as of now, both dogs are still waiting for their forever homes. He was rescued from the streets when he was six months old and has been safe at the shelter since then. Our extra special girl Daisy is approximately two years old and a medium sized cross breed. Daisy weighs a perfect fifteen kilos and measures fifteen inches from shoulder to paw. Having been found abandoned in The Troodos mountains, Daisy has been in our Cyprus shelter for two months. Daisy is exemplary with her glorious smile and wagging tail. Our shelter manager describes her wonderful, sweet nature and should make a lovely family dog. Daisy is calm, gentle, empathetic and attentive. Her white and tan coat is glorious, and Daisy’s ears are just superb. Such a nice, pleasant girl who has so much to offer. Daisy will repay her adopters with love and loyalty. Pettern is a medium-sized male crossbreed aged 2 year old. Pettern was abandoned with his siblings outside the gates of the shelter in Crivatu, Romania. Sadly they grew up there whilst waiting for their chance to come to the UK to find a new home. Pettern is a sweet, affectionate, playful and loyal boy to those he loves. He has been adopted once but as the only dog in the home, he was on edge and anxious so he will need another dog or dogs in his new home. He would need a home with no children. This gorgeous boy was sadly left behind in Romania by his owners with a very tight chain around his neck – hust abandoned with no way of escaping. Milo is a 9 year old male Shih Tzu who has come to us after his lady owner passed away and her husband was struggling to care for him. He was in a real mess and we had to get a fabulous groomer to brave the matts before getting our vets to sedate him and do the rest. The poor fella was a snappy, angry boy as he must have been in pain with all the matted fur and pulling him about. Since then, he has settled into a foster home with dogs and is generally a good boy. He has learned to snap when he doesn’t want to be brushed but we are working through this with a little grooming every day and he has really improved. Dolly is a 4 year old female Cross-Breed, weighing 12 kg and currently located in Hungary. She was rescued in February 2023 from horrid circumstances in a poor area of rural Hungary, where she had been abused by people while roaming the streets. As a result, she was very timid when rescued, but she seems to be a Dachshund cross with slightly longer legs, making her a smaller medium size.
