Captain – 4 year old male Labrador Retriever Cross

Captain is a 4.5 year old, medium-sized, male, lab cross who was abandoned in Cyprus by his owner 9 months ago. We will never know his full story—maybe his family moved away, or maybe they just decided they no longer wanted him.

Whatever the reason, Captain was left behind: alone, confused, and heartbroken. The fact that this boy is so loving and affectionate towards humans is a testament to him.

Perhaps it’s because he knows exactly what he has lost and he longs to find that again. He adores being around humans and is just such a happy boy. He doesn’t deserve to be in a kennel.

Captain has shown to be selective with other dogs so needs to be the only dog. He can be fostered, fostered with a view to adopt, or simply adopted.

Everyone involved in Captain’s plight is desperate to see him happy in a home. He is one of those dogs that it is quite heartbreaking to see him stuck in a kennel for close to 24 hours a day.

Captain will of course need patience and time to settle into a home, as with any rescue dog. We think that he may be house trained, given his past, and he also walks well on the leash.

Overall, we have no doubt this boy will be the best companion and anyone who is lucky enough to have him in their lives will just adore him.

Knowing what he has lost, Captain will be one of those dogs that is eternally grateful and will give back any love you give 10-fold.

Captain is located in Cyprus and, if adopted in the UK, will travel with a passport and be tested for infectious diseases. He is fully vaccinated and castrated.
