Nora – 1 year old female Saluki Cross
Say hello to Nora – 1 year old female Saluki Cross who’s shy, sweet, and quietly adorable. She’ll warm up quickly in a loving home, especially if you’re around a lot to give her those cuddles she craves.
Nora was rescued when she was a newborn pup after her mum had been abandoned to the streets of Muscat. They went into foster until Nora was 3 months old and now she is in a boarding facility.
She has recently spent time in a foster home again which gave us a good insight into her behaviour in a home environment.
Her foster family describes her as shy, sweet, and quiet. She does like some people instantly but will need some time with others to get closer.
With the foster mum being at home a lot, she warmed up fast and started to cuddle and play. She followed her two foster sisters in everything and copied their behavior, but there was some conflict at times over toys and space.
The foster family thinks she’d be better in a home with other dogs as long as they were male or friendly females.
She is very playful, happy, and active, but also sleeps a lot during the day. She likes toys, running around the garden, and her treats.
Potty training went well when she had access to the garden. She listened well to her name, but sits are still a challenge to learn. She likes her walks and is easy on the leash, but new sounds and people still make her nervous. She seems food motivated and is a happy eater.
All in all a really lovely young dog with good potential to be the best family dog. She will benefit from another dog for confidence, but it’s not essential. She is protective of the house and will bark when she is alerted, but not much.
Nora is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She will be ready to travel to the UK in September/October 2025.
