Lucio – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Lucio is a 2-year-old small male German Shepherd type Cross. This handsome boy has already been through a great deal, having spent more than a year of his life locked up in a cage while waiting for his chance at a better life.

That chance eventually came, and Lucio flew to the UK on 19 April, where he is now waiting for his forever home.

Lucio is currently staying in kennels in Preesal, Lancashire. Before coming to the UK, he lived at a shelter in Cyprus, where he became a particular favourite of one of the volunteer’s daughters.

She could not understand why such a lovely dog was still waiting for a home.

Described as affectionate and cheerful, Lucio also has a very clever personality. He responds well to the right guidance and is able to adjust nicely when given the support and direction he needs.

His combination of intelligence and affectionate nature makes him a dog who will benefit from an experienced and committed home.

Lucio is looking for either an experienced foster home or a forever home, with foster-to-adopt also being considered. His new family should be active and able to meet both his physical and mental needs.

He will need people who are prepared to give him the guidance and activity he needs as he continues adjusting to life in the UK.

Lucio cannot live with cats. He can live with female dogs or could be the only dog in the household, giving potential adopters a couple of suitable options when considering his future home.

He can live with children aged 10 and over, provided they are dog-savvy. His new family should therefore be comfortable managing his needs while ensuring that any children in the household understand how to interact appropriately with him.

Lucio has already had several important aspects of his care completed. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been treated for parasites, and he also has his own pet passport.

Lucio also has rescue back-up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue. After spending so much of his early life waiting for an opportunity, he is now looking for the permanent home where he can finally enjoy life as a much-loved family companion.

An experienced and active family willing to continue supporting him could give Lucio the chance to settle into the happy future he has been waiting for.
