Tilly – 2 year old female Cockapoo

Tilly – 2-year-old Cockapoo girl (approx. 10kg)

Currently being fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult family home with multiple dogs.

Tilly was originally homed by Starfish as a puppy and has recently come back into our care due to a change in her owner’s circumstances.

This is absolutely no reflection on lovely little Tilly, who has done nothing wrong. We are heartbroken for her, as returns are something that very rarely happen within our rescue.

When Tilly first arrived, our hearts broke for her. For several days she sat by the door waiting, barely eating and seeming very sad and withdrawn.

It was clear she missed everything she had known and was struggling to understand why her world had suddenly changed.

Her coat was also in poor condition and our wonderful groomer spent nearly three hours carefully clipping it all off. Throughout the entire process, Tilly was incredibly patient and good.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and we now have a very different Tilly – a happy, confident little girl who has settled beautifully into a home with six resident dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities without a single issue.

She has even attended agility classes and proved to be a natural!

There is honestly very little negative to say about this lovely dog.

Report from her foster mummy:

“Tilly is the easiest dog I’ve fostered to date. She met my six dogs all at once, which can be intimidating, but took it all in her stride. She is affectionate and enjoys human company, but has also learnt to settle happily when a person is not in the room.

She loves routine, enjoys her two walks a day and is a bright little dog who would thrive in a home where she can continue to use her brain. She is inquisitive, confident and wants to say hello to every person and dog she meets.

She settles well at night and sleeps through without any problems.

She walks nicely on the lead and although interested in wildlife, she has not been overly fixated on it. She has not yet been let off lead, so we cannot comment on her recall.

One thing she does go deaf for, however, is a particularly interesting smell she wants to investigate or roll in!

She is pretty much the perfect dog. I feel she would be happiest in a home with another dog and ideally more than one person around, ensuring she receives plenty of companionship and attention.”

We know Tilly will be extremely popular. However, as you can imagine, we are very protective of this special little girl.

We watched her arrive feeling lost and confused, and we have seen her blossom back into the happy, joyful puppy we remember from two years ago.

Because of this, we will not compromise when it comes to finding her the right forever home.

Tilly has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.
