Bracken – 2 year old male Breton

BRACKEN – FOR ADOPTION

Meet Bracken – a sweet, soulful young 2 year old Breton boy who is patiently waiting for the family he can finally call his own. He is 48cm tall and weighs 14 kg.

Bracken is an ex-hunting dog with a gentle, affectionate nature. Despite his working background, he shows little sign of trauma (comparatively to other dogs) and has adapted beautifully to shelter life.

What he wants most in the world is simple: people to love, and to give him what a Breton needs: exercise and enrichment.

He is often found waiting at his kennel door – not desperate to leave, but hoping that whoever passes by might stop for a moment of attention and cuddles. Once you give him that connection, he completely blossoms.

Personality & Temperament

Bracken is:

Affectionate, calm, and people-focused
Friendly with other dogs
Good with children (8+ due to size/energy)
Active and enjoys his walks and exploring
Content to play independently if no humans are available, but always prefers human company

His Ideal Home

Bracken will thrive with:

An active family who enjoys daily walks and outdoor time
People who are home often and want a close companion
A stable, loving environment where he is included in family life
Adopters who understand the needs of a Breton (a working breed with energy and intelligence) and who will provide appropriate enrichment
He will be a wonderful match for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate companion rather than a very independent dog.

Health & Preparation for Travel

Bracken is fully ready to travel (please see below) and to start his new life.

Bracken is currently at our shelter in Cordoba in southern Spain but will be coming to a UK foster home soon.

All of our dogs have an international passport (unless born in the UK) and are microchipped. They are fully vaccinated for standard diseases as well as rabies and kennel cough.

All dogs are blood tested for infectious diseases including Leishmaniasis, Dirofilaria, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma, Lyme and Brucella Canis.

All dogs, unless there are medical or behavioural reasons to not do so, will be sterilised. Bracken is neutered. Please note that we will advise medical results and treatments upon successful application.

Adoption contract and fee, homecheck and lifetime RBU (rescue back-up) apply as standard.
