Meet Adonis

Adonis is a Labrador Retriever mix, around 6 years old, and one of the 27 dogs rescued last October from a heartbreaking hoarding situation — a place where fear and neglect shaped the start of his life.

When he first came to us, Adonis was completely shut down. He kept his distance, unsure of everything around him, and had no reason to trust the world or the people in it.

But slowly, with patience and gentle care, Adonis has begun to blossom… and what a transformation it has been.

Today, he is a completely different boy. Adonis now comes over for cuddles — something that once felt impossible — and it’s truly incredible to watch. Each time he chooses to come close, to lean in, to accept love, it feels like a small victory.

He is still a sensitive, slightly shy soul, especially in new or unfamiliar situations, but he is learning every day that he is safe. He walks beautifully on a lead, happily takes treats, and most importantly, he wants to connect.

Adonis is looking for a calm, quiet home where he can continue his journey at his own pace. A home that understands his past and will meet him with patience, kindness, and love will be exactly what he needs to keep growing in confidence.

He could be perfectly happy as an only dog, soaking up all the attention, or he could share his home with a calm, gentle, and well-balanced dog who will respect his space and help him feel secure.

Adonis may have started life with very little, but he has shown just how much love he has to give. Watching him open up is something truly special — and his future family will be incredibly lucky to be part of that journey.

All he needs now is a place to finally call home.

Phoebe is a 1-2 year old female Shepherd Cross. She sleeps downstairs in a large crate with the door open. Her current owner has been sleeping downstairs with her.
