Sammy – 10 week old male Shih Tzu Cross

Sammy is a 10-week-old male Shih Tzu Cross. He is currently still with his mum and some of his litter mates, which means he is in an important stage of early development and socialisation.

Being raised in this environment helps him learn basic behaviours from both his mother and siblings.

He is described as the smallest of the litter, which gives him a slightly more delicate and petite presence compared to his brothers and sisters.

Despite his size, Sammy is a cheeky little character with a playful and lively personality. His colouring is noted as darker with a brindle-like appearance, adding to his unique look.

Sammy takes strongly after his mum, who is a Shih Tzu Cross, while his dad is unknown. Because of this, his overall appearance and temperament are expected to be similar to his mother.

Like her, he will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and well-maintained.

In terms of temperament, Sammy is good with other dogs and has already been exposed to living with a large yellow Labrador Retriever. He enjoys chasing and playing, showing that he is confident and sociable even around much bigger dogs. This early exposure suggests he could adapt well to a multi-dog household.

He is also good with cats, which makes him a suitable option for homes that already have feline companions. This compatibility is a big advantage for families with mixed pets.

Additionally, Sammy is considered suitable for homes with children aged eight and above, indicating he would do well in a family environment with older, more understanding children.

Sammy and his litter are currently being introduced to garden training, and they are also learning to use training pads when needed.

This early training foundation will help ease the transition into a new home, although continued consistency will be important. Like all puppies, he will still require patience and guidance as he grows.

He has already been microchipped, ensuring he has an important form of identification in place. His vaccinations have not yet been completed, as they are being scheduled according to appropriate age guidelines.

Potential adopters are encouraged to enquire further for specific details regarding this.

Sammy is currently being fostered in Chelmsford, where his mum can also be met. This offers a great opportunity for potential adopters to see his background and understand the type of dog he may grow into.

He is looking for a home with people who are genuinely interested and ready to commit to raising a young puppy.
