Please meet Resilient Rocky!

Rocky is an absolutely gorgeous border terrier x corgi, we believe. He is 4 years old and weighs 15kg. Rocky was saved from the Chinese meat market by Candy’s rescue.

Yes, dogs are food in China. If you don’t know, the meat markets are absolutely evil and the treatment the dogs get and the things they have seen is nothing short of hell.

Little Rocky is one of the lucky ones and has come to us in the UK to find his forever home.

If you are not aware, there are no animal welfare laws in China so no dog is ever safe there, which is why the dogs are sent overseas to be rehomed, to make sure they are safe and loved for life!

Rocky marched in here like he owned the place. We were expecting a bewildered dog when he arrived in foster with us, given he had a 14 hour flight followed by a few hours drive.

All he wanted was to have a snuggle with me, it’s very easy to fall in love with this adorable little lad. I mean, just look at his face! Rocky is a beautiful little lad and will make a very rewarding addition to his new family.

He has settled well into our routine and loves pack life, he loves to explore but will always come back when he hears the treat tub opening!!

Rocky is neutered, microchipped, de flead and wormed and fully vaccinated, he has also been tested negative for Brucella. Rocky is house trained, walks well on the lead, and once he is confident with you, he is not destructive and can be left happily for short periods.

He is a very social little lad so could live with other dogs or would be equally happy as the only dog with lots of human company! Rocky is adorable both inside and out, and to think he almost ended up on someone’s plate is just heartbreaking.

Rocky doesn’t have much experience of children but would be able to live with children teenage and above. He is also absolutely fine with cats. Rocky is an inquisitive and responsive little lad, he is quick to learn and easy to train when food is around.

He loves his home comforts and a cuddle, and likes to sleep on the bed with you if he is allowed, although he is equally settled downstairs.

Rocky travels very well in the car, he is just an all-around pleasure to have, he is cheeky cute, full of attitude and mischief in equal measure and is a real adorable little character.

Whoever adopts this little lad will be very lucky indeed as he really has the most amazing character, and I am sure he is grateful to be out of China and just wants to love his humans.
