Rudolph – 7 year old male Breton
Could Rudolph be your perfect match?
Rudolph is a 7 year old male Breton who was one of many dogs trapped at a municipal pound that was about to close. He was ill with various problems and nobody wanted to take him.
When a fellow rescue asked if we could help, we couldn’t say no to this poor dog, and so ran blood tests in anticipation of taking him.
The results showed that Rudolph had heartworm – he has since successfully completed all the necessary treatment, and is now doing very well. Rudolph also had an eye issue which needed surgery and he has an old break in one of his front legs.
Despite all his previous troubles Rudolph has gone on from strength to strength and is now enjoying life and flourishing in his UK foster home.
Rudolph’s foster mum gave him the nickname Goofball, and once you meet him you’ll understand why – he’s full of charm, personality and the biggest friendly heart.
This lovely boy enjoys his walks and is good on the lead, but he’s just as happy stretching out for some well-earned sofa time. He gets on well with other dogs and could live happily as an only dog soaking up all the attention, or alongside a calm canine friend.
Rudolph is also good with children (aged 8+ for adoption please) and truly adores people – male, female, young or old – everyone is a friend in his eyes.
He’s a quiet, happy soul who doesn’t tend to bark, preferring tail wags and cuddles instead.

Like many clever Bretons he can be a little cheeky — a known counter surfer and occasional bin dipper if given the opportunity — so a home that keeps things tidy and enjoys a bit of goofy character will suit him perfectly!
He does love a squirrel, so secure fencing, as with all dogs, is a must.
Whether you’re looking for an active adventure buddy or a snuggly sofa companion, Rudolph is happy doing both. All round, he’s simply a fantastic dog who will bring so much love and laughter to the lucky home that welcomes him. ??
