Percy – 8 year old male Jura Hound

Percy is around 8 years old, and after nearly a year in the shelter, he’s patiently waiting for someone to give him the one thing he’s missing—a home of his own.

This sweet senior boy is all about companionship. He loves being near people, leaning in for affection, and soaking up every bit of kindness and attention.

He’s the kind of dog who will quietly follow you from room to room, always happy just to be by your side.

Percy has a soft, loving nature and a personality that blossoms in calm, caring environments. He also has a healthy love of food, which makes him very responsive and trainable—especially with a few tasty treats involved!

He currently shares his space with other dogs at the shelter, but Percy would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy undivided love and attention. He’s shown he’s comfortable around cats, and would thrive in a peaceful household where he can truly relax.

Due to his age, we recommend a home without young children.

Percy hasn’t had much opportunity for outside exposure, so he’ll need a family that’s patient and understanding as he adjusts to life beyond the shelter walls. With time, gentle guidance, and love, Percy will no doubt settle in and show just how special he truly is.

He may be in his senior years, but Percy has so much heart left to give. What he needs now is a chance—a warm bed, a steady routine, and a person to call his own.
