Patrick – 6 year old male Long-Haired Terrier Cross

Patrick stole every heart… except the one that matters most: yours.

Patrick is a 6 year old male Long-Haired Terrier Cross.

Patrick’s story begins on the street. He wasn’t bothering anyone — just lying in the sun, waiting for kind hands of neighbors who would bring him food. A peaceful soul, a gentle presence.

But one day, when the dogcatchers needed to “fill the numbers,” Patrick’s freedom was stolen. They locked him in a cramped, lonely cage.

Volunteers already knew him from before. Everyone adored him. And sometimes, just sometimes, they managed to sneak him out for a short walk in the pound. Patrick would soak up every second, every breath of fresh air.

One day a TV author came to film. He noticed Patrick right away: “What a personality! This is my favorite,” he said. But he never came back for him.

When we came during a rescue mission, Patrick was there. Our hearts broke. We had no more space… but we couldn’t leave him behind. We begged the director to hold him for us. To give him a chance.

For seven long months we trembled for him.

Calling the pound. Visiting. Begging. Making sure he was still alive.

The boy who stole hearts… the one we couldn’t save in December.

And then — finally — thanks to our supporters, Patrick’s day came. He left the pound!

On the trip to safety, Patrick lay down by the volunteer’s feet, resting his head on our feet as if to say: “I know. I know I am free. Thank you.”

Now, Patrick is making up for all those lost days.

Feeling grass under his paws, breathing in fresh air, running and playing with his friends.

He shares a space with a young Golden Retriever girl, and they play like they’ve known each other forever. He also adores Prada, another gentle female. And the family running the pension says it clearly: Patrick is a wonderful, good boy.

The worry on his face has melted into something else — a smile that never leaves him.

Patrick is a heart stealer. It is impossible to meet him and not fall in love.

This boy waited so long for freedom. Now he is waiting for just one more thing — a family of his own!
