Bess – 6 year old female Cross-Breed
Bess is a six year old medium sized female crossbreed looking for an active home. Sadly her owner passed away and she’s not getting on with one of the other dogs she’s now living with.
She is great with children 2 upwards and we would happily rehome her with children of that age. She is a no to cats/small furries and initially at least would be better suited as an only dog. When she was assessed yesterday she was a delight- happy for cuddles and fuss, quickly making friends.
She’s a lively, energetic dog who certainly behaves much younger than 6!
She is fine out and about walking past other dogs and would make an ideal companion for someone who is active and wants a walking buddy. She does pull a bit on the lead but we’d expect that to improve when she’s getting more exercise.
She’s not keen on travelling in the car but can cope with it when necessary.
She is looking for a home with experience of dogs as she does draw confidence from her handler and can be a little anxious at times. She is fine to be left for a few hours at a time but has been known to empty the bin if left for longer!
She’s speyed and chipped but her vaccinations have lapsed (these will be done as part of the adoption process). Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to meet her in South Yorkshire.

As always we require everyone in the family and any children who are regularly going to be in contact with the dog to attend the meet.
Our usual process is that you will need to come and meet the dog and that adoption is then done on a second meet.
For some dogs additional meets may be required and potential adopters will be required to travel to the dogs location for all meets.
If you are suited we will then arrange a homecheck, vet reference and meet with the dog.
We only rehome where all resident and previous animals are/were regularly vaccinated and neutered/speyed unless on veterinary advice. All of our dogs have rescue back up.
