Sky – 4 year old female English Setter

Image
Sky is a four year old female English Setter. Sky was given to the shelter by her hunter who could no longer look after her. The poor girl arrived very nervous with a lot of insecurities, she has taken the move to the selter quite badly but is slowly allowing people to stroke her. In time and with a patient adopter, she will improve and let her true wonderful character shine though. Sadly, shelters are tough for dogs like Sky. Although they improve over time, it’s a slow process compared to being in a home with a family who can guide her through life and show her things don’t have to be so scary. Sky is currently at the shelter we work closely with in North Spain. Sky’s date of birth is 2nd September 2020. If you are interested in giving wonderful Sky a home, she is available at Setter Brittany Pointer Rescue. Sky is currently in Spain but she is ready to travel to her forever home in the UK. Will that be with you?

Perlita – 5 year old female Griffon Fauve de Bretagne

Image
Perlita is a 5-year-old female Griffon Fauve de Bretagne. She is one of seven dogs rescued in November from an animal hoarder. At the time of her rescue, she was pregnant and gave birth shortly after arriving at the small shelter. Once all her puppies found homes, Perlita was neutered and received all necessary vaccinations. Following her recovery, Perlita was placed under our care and moved to a foster home in Spain. Her blood tests came back negative for five Mediterranean diseases, and any missing vaccinations have now been completed. Perlita has a lovely temperament and generally behaves well, though she can be a bit cheeky. She has a tendency to steal food from the kitchen counter, which shows her strong food motivation. It’s understandable, considering she likely had little access to food in her previous environment. The kitchen is her favourite spot, just in case there’s something tasty around. Despite this, Perlita is incredibly affectionate and simply craves love and comp...

Ophelia – 2 year old female French Bulldog

Image
Ophelia is a gorgeous fluffy cream 2 year old female French Bulldog. Poor Ophelia came to us after she was left unclaimed in the pound, an increasingly common thing for this breed sadly. She was suffering from Cherry eye which has now been corrected but may be the reason nobody came to claim her. Ophelia is a typical Frenchie in many ways in that she is small and mighty and full of character and mischief, but most of all snuggles, she is an absolute snuggle bug!! Ophelia is a lively happy little lady that would love a family to play with her and keep her occupied, she loves a walk and loves to greet everyone she meets! She does get excited and will mouth, so children aged 13 plus only. Ophelia doesn’t appear to have had much in the way of manners or training, when she is indoors she is a quiet sweet girl that gets easily over excited by things, when she is outside she has a high prey drive and will chase anything, including other dogs, she loves food and a ball so that’s a brillia...

Joshua – 2 year old male Pocket Pointer

Image
Hey there, I’m Joshua! I’m a 2-year-old pocket pointer boy with a story that might have started rough, but thanks to some amazing people, I’ve been given a second chance at life – and I’m ready to make the most of it! Not long ago, I was scavenging for food on the streets, barely getting by. The municipality picked me up, and things weren’t looking good for me. I was in really bad shape, and it didn’t seem like anyone was looking for me, so I was facing euthanasia. But just when I was about to lose hope, some kind souls stepped in and saved me in the nick of time. When they first saw me, it was clear I had leishmania – my fur was patchy, and I looked pretty rough. But even in that sorry state, I knew I was safe, and I showed everyone just how sweet and loving I am. Fast forward a bit, and now I’ve transformed into a happy, bouncy boy! My fur has now fully grown and is very shiny. I’m a pup full of energy, cuddles, and love. I’m looking for an active home where I can join in on all...

Seppl – 2 year old male Terrier Cross

Image
Hello there! I’m Seppl! I’m 2.5 years old and I’m a wire-haired cross breed boy – perhaps part hippo – as you’ll usually find me flopped in the paddling pool!! Let me tell you a bit about my journey so far. I came from an overcrowded kill station, and life was pretty confusing when I first arrived. It took me a while to understand what was going on and I was very overwhelmed and scared of other dogs. I am quite good at socialising when I’m out in the playground, and I had many kennel friends so far, but I really would prefer to be the only dog in my forever home to make up all the lost time getting more and more cuddles. At the shelter I soon learnt that the people around me now meant well, and boy, did I quickly bond with people! They’re the best. I absolutely love cuddles and playtime – who doesn’t, right? But here’s the thing: I didn’t know much when I first got here. I had to learn that training with people is not just okay, it’s actually a lot of fun! I’ve mastered the art of ...

Lila – 3 year old female Chihuahua Cross

Image
Lila – A Tiny Soul Who Still Can’t Believe She’s Safe. Lila is a Ukraine war dog in need of a safe haven. Available under a foster-to-adopt. Arriving in mid-June LILA is a small, tender three-year-old girl, Chihuahua cross, who’s still trying to understand that warmth and kindness can be real. She was found on a short chain in the dead of winter—no shelter, no warmth, no clean water. Just a tiny, cold wooden box and long, bitter nights. Her situation was so dire, the police had to be involved to intervene and remove her. She survived not just physical hardship, but emotional neglect. And yet—miraculously—her heart stayed soft. When her rescuers arrived, she didn’t growl or ...

Bruno – 3 year old male Podenco

Image
Bruno is a 3 year old male Podenco, located in Spain. Bruno is a gorgeous, typically tan, short-coated Podenco boy of medium height. Cheeky, inquisitive and a joy to own, he likes other dogs but not a cat lover. Found wandering in a stream bed, hot and exhausted, he was saved from the Lorca area and brought to the pound. The pound thought he had a rescue offer of safety and so he was not sent to the Kill Station but still sits in private kennels, safe but waiting for a home and costing the pound funds they just havent got. He is good on lead and fine with other dogs, and he loves people. Bruno loves being groomed, and cuddled, he just wants to be loved, he adores his human carers and is indifferent to other dogs. We are looking for a home for him with or without other dogs and children over 8 years. He would be good at agility so maybe an outdoorsy family? Best Points: Nice character and cheeky and loving Dog Details: Breed: Podenco Age: 3 years Gender: Male Height: Med...

Phil – 4 year old male Golden Retriever

Image
Phil is a 4 year old male Golden Retriever who is absolutely adorable. Phil was saved from the Chinese meat market by Harbin rescue. Yes, dogs are food in China. If you don’t know, the meat markets are absolutely evil and the treatment the dogs get and the things they have seen is nothing short of hell. Phil is one of the lucky ones and has come to us in the UK to find his forever home. If you are not aware, there are no animal welfare laws in China so no dog is ever safe there, which is why the dogs are sent overseas to be rehomed, to make sure they are safe and loved for life! Phil is testament to everything dog. Despite where he has come from, he shows nothing but love and loves to give you a bear hug when you come into the room. He is a wonderful lad and it breaks my heart when I think of what could have happened to him if Harbin hadn’t rescued him from the meat truck that day. Phil is a wonderful dog, and I absolutely adore him! He is just a happy guy, always smiling and alwa...

Soleil – 5 year old female Pocket Pointer

Image
Hello there, I’m Soleil! I was super lucky to fly to foster home in May where I have been learning the ropes from my new brother and have even found my comfy spot on the sofa. Currently in foster – Essex. Everyone who sees me comments on my beautiful deep chestnut fur and soulful eyes. I am a gentle, yet shy girl who will need a calm and understanding family to help me settle. I am best suited to an all-adult household, where I can feel safe and secure. I currently find little humans a bit overwhelming and I prefer to keep my distance. While I may be shy at first, once I settle and trust my new family they will be rewarded with my happy dance – feet tapping and my tail wagging when I greet you! I also like to give lots of kisses so I hope you’re ready! My happy place is the outdoors, I love to spend time in the garden although I will require a secure space with 6ft fencing. I love to sunbathe in the sun, romp around the garden playing with my foster brother or chase a ball (my fav...

Pippin – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Pippin fostered in Hingham , Norfolk. Pippin is a small 2 year old crossbreed recently brought over from Romania. Pippin is a adorable little chap, loves dogs, loves people and is very cheeky. He will need some positive training as he is very puppy like and needs to be corrected in some of his behaviours. Pippin walks well on the lead and is not scared of traffic or busy areas. He is pub tested and is a very sociable boy. Pippin is not cat tested and can be rehomed with or without another dog as long as he has plenty of socialisation. Pippin can be rehomed with over 8 years dog savvy children. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to s...

Bingo – 3 year old male Spanish Bodeguero Terrier

Image
Bingo is a 3-year-old male Spanish Bodeguero Terrier. He is a small, cheerful, and intelligent dog currently in Spain, but he is ready to travel to the UK for the right home. Weighing around 8kg, Bingo is well-suited to both city and family life, and he has already experienced living in a home environment. Bingo’s breed, the Bodeguero, is a traditional Spanish terrier known for hunting rodents in Andalusian wineries. Bingo himself has lived with a family his whole life. Unfortunately, due to a serious illness in the household, he had to be surrendered, and a rescue is now seeking a loving new home for him. He is sociable and affectionate, showing no fear, and is already familiar with basic home routines. Bingo is great with other dogs and can live with resident dogs. He is also very good with children, making him a lovely choice for a family. A cat test can be arranged if needed. Bingo is ready to find a new family who will appreciate his sweet nature, intelligence, and happy dis...

Bingley – 6-7 year old male Retriever Cross

Image
Bingley fostered Norwich Norfolk. Bingley is a black retriever type cross breed aged around six to seven years old. Bingley has come into our care recently from a private shelter in Romania. He is the sweetest boy who is calm and friendly with everyone he meets. He mixes beautifully with with other dogs and is a very popular member of the pack but could also live as the only dog in the home. Bingley could live with children aged eight plus. Unfortunately Bingley tested positive for heartworm but comes with full treatment at no cost to the adopters. It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (...

Jinx – 5 year old female Terrier Cross

Image
Jinx is a 5-year-old female small terrier cross who came into care after being found with her elderly owner who had sadly passed away. Despite the sad circumstances of her arrival, Jinx has shown resilience and a sweet nature. She has settled well into her foster home and is enjoying the comforts of a loving environment. Jinx adores cuddles and seems to form bonds quickly with those around her. Though photos may suggest otherwise, she is much smaller in person, making her even more endearing. One of her cutest features is the unique patch of differently coloured fur—a quiff—on top of her head. It’s a little detail that adds to her charm and individuality. She also enjoys going for walks and behaves well on the lead. Jinx is currently being fostered in Wickford, Essex. As part of the rehoming policy, she cannot be placed in a home with unneutered dogs. This ensures her safety and the stability of her future home.

Malik – 3 year old male Labrador Retriever Cross

Image
Hey there! I’m Malik, a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, and… well, no tail. Yep, life threw me a tough one—I arrived at the shelter two years ago with a badly injured tail that had to be amputated. But hey, who needs a tail when you’ve got ears this expressive and eyes full of hope? I’ve been waiting patiently for my forever family ever since. Don’t get me wrong—I’ve made the most of shelter life, but I know there’s a whole world out there just waiting for me to explore it with my person by my side. I’m smart (like, “teach me a trick and I’ll ace it” smart), affectionate, and I get along really well with other dogs—playmates are always welcome in my book. The kennel life isn’t really my style—I much prefer wide open spaces, fresh air, and room to move and play. Give me a garden and a bit of freedom, and I’ll show you just how relaxed and happy I can be. I’m looking for a quiet, rural home with people who are around often—I really thrive on companions...

Reggie – 4 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Reggie is a 4-year-old male Cross-Breed. Reggie is currently living in Bristol and is described as a medium-sized dog. He has unfortunately found himself looking for a home again, despite the hopes he had for a stable and loving forever family. His rescue team describes him as one of the unluckiest dogs they’ve ever known, although Reggie still sees himself as lucky because he knows he is loved and supported by those trying to find him a proper home. Reggie is a very anxious boy, which means he needs a quiet and peaceful environment to feel safe. He isn’t comfortable around children, cats, or even other dogs within the home. However, he has shown that he can slowly form friendships with other dogs outside of his home space, given enough time and patience. Despite the instability he has experienced with multiple homes, Reggie remains affectionate with the adults he trusts. He loves cuddles and is motivated by a strong desire to please. He is clean in the home and well-behaved when...

Lottie – 9 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Lottie fostered Norwich Norfolk. Lottie is a medium sized crossbreed aged around nine years old. Lottie has spent most of her life in a private shelter in Romania. She was well cared for and her needs were met but her carer wanted more for her for her twilight years and felt she deserved a home of her own. Lottie is a contented and happy girl who knows exactly what she wants to do with her days now! She loves food time and sofa surfing in equal measures and the contented smile on her face when she’s got her head rested on a cushion really says it all. She has now experienced walks for the first time in her life and is enjoying them …. but still looks forward to the part of the walk when she can go home and get back to bed. Lottie is oblivious to the cats and dogs in her foster home, she mixes well with them but would be equally as happy if they weren’t there. She is a happy and friendly girl but continues to be a little hand shy and not completely sure why we want to stroke her, ...

Duke – 1 year old male Great Dane Cross

Image
Duke is a 1-year 3-month-old male Great Dane Cross. He came to the rescue via the stray system and was soon placed in a home alongside another dog from the same organisation. Since arriving, Duke has proven to be a sociable and playful dog who gets along well with other dogs. As a Great Dane, Duke is a classic example of the “gentle giant” but also has a goofy and mischievous side. His large size means he can get into all sorts of mischief, often unintentionally, as he explores and plays. He shares his foster home with another dog named Ben, and together they enjoy lively play sessions that can quite literally shake the house! Duke is crate trained and can be left alone at home for up to six hours without issue. He is not destructive, and there have been no signs of reactive or aggressive behaviour. On walks, Duke does pull at the beginning, but once he settles, he walks well on the lead. He has been around children, including a baby as young as 6 months, and has shown no problems...
