Roxy – 18 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Our extra special girl Roxy is an 18 month old female Cross-Breed, medium in size, weighing just 11 kilograms and measuring 12 inches from shoulder to paw. Sadly, Roxy came into our Cyprus shelter as little more than a puppy and part of another unwanted litter. She deserves so much better. Roxy is intimidated by shelter life. She is very shy and introverted. With her wire-haired coat and beautiful eyes, she is absolutely stunning. Roxy has a delicate and calm, gentle demeanour. Her personality is that of a real lady with impeccable manners. Roxy is made for family life and longs for a forever home where she can enjoy love, warmth, comfort, and security. Although all of this has eluded her so far, one can detect a hint of optimism about her. It really is time that dear Roxy succeeds in her aspirations very soon. Roxy walks nicely on her lead. She seems to mix perfectly well with other dogs, cats, and children.

Zac – 5 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Zac is a 5 month old male Cross-Breed currently in a shelter in Cyprus. He was found on a beach alongside his mum and three siblings. All are now safe and well, and the puppies are thriving and growing fast. We think that the pups will be medium in size when fully grown, around 15-20kg. In the shelter, the puppies are learning to socialise, but they really need a loving home to bring them on and help them reach their full potential. Zac is slightly smaller than his siblings and incredibly shy and worried. He is the baby who hides behind his big brother—so timid. Zac has such a soulful face and the most wonderful Black and Tan colouring; he looks like a black dog who has been dipped feet-first into a pot of ginger paint! His long silky ears are tipped with ginger, and his dark eyes reflect his innocence and youth. Zac is looking for his forever home. He will need adopters who understand the commitment needed for raising a puppy. Zac will require lots of time and patience to train an...

Jessie – 10 year old female Pug Cross

Image
Is there room in your heart for this little sweetheart? Jessie is a 10-year-old UK-bred Pug mix who is looking for a loving retirement home after the sad passing of her owner. For the first six years of her life, Jessie was used for breeding, locked in a dark shed and forced to have litter after litter. Despite her past, she remains a happy and affectionate little girl who enjoys home comforts and gentle walks—she loves nothing more than plodding alongside her human, often not even needing a lead as she just wants to stay by your side. Jessie is looking for a peaceful and loving home where she can spend her days curled up on the sofa—her favourite spot at the moment is right next to the warm fire! She is currently overweight and needs to lose a few kilos, something her foster home is working on. Due to her past, she is having a few accidents indoors, but this is improving. Jessie sleeps soundly through the night, can be left alone without issue, and travels well in the car. She h...

Delphine – 4 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Our newest addition to The Biggie’s League—welcome adorable Delphine. Delphine is a 4 year old female Cross-Breed. She is a small, short-legged girl weighing approximately 12 kilograms. Delphine is a precious and sweet soul who is initially a little shy with new people, but it doesn’t take long for her to warm up. Behind her initial shyness is a dog who absolutely loves to cuddle and be around her favourite humans. This little one will make her adopters feel very lucky. Delphine gets along well with other dogs and currently shares her space with her best friend, who has now been adopted and will be leaving soon—leaving this sweet soul behind. She can happily be placed with or without a resident dog. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We are unsure of her past, so she may require basic training and time to settle in. Can we find Delphine a home in time for her to travel with her best friend? She is currently in Romania but ready to travel once her forever home comes along...

Eric – 2 year old male Corgi Cross

Image
Eric is a male 2-year-old Corgi Cross currently in foster in Hampshire. Eric is doing great in his foster home, but now he’s ready to find his forever family! He would thrive in a child-free, cat-free home with at least one other friendly, playful dog to keep him company. Always up for fun, Eric is super gentle and submissive. His new humans should be kind and patient to help him continue working through his fears, but also playful—he loves bouncing and running around with his foster family, which is a perfect way to bond with him. He adores toys and treats but never gets protective or aggressive over them. Eric is fantastic in his crate, sleeping quietly through the night. A nice variety of chew toys and lots of family interaction will keep him a very happy pup. His Story Eric and his brother were rescued from a kill shelter, but while his brother was quickly adopted to a loving home in Belgium, Eric has been left behind, spending over a year in a bleak shelter. Each day, he sat ...

Dandy – 13 year old male Bichon Frise Cross

Image
Dandy is a 13 year old Bichon cross who is recently surrendered. Dandy is fostered in Fakenham, Norfolk. Dandy is an active little chap, loves his walks, gets on well with dogs and humans. He has a grade two heart murmur and has low dose meds which will need to be continued. He can be rehomed with children over 6 Be the only dog or happy to live with another dog Not cat tested Would be looking at an active retirement home When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled,...

Sully – 5 year old male Boxer cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Image
Sully is a 5-year-old male Boxer Cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He is described as a happy and friendly boy, although he can be a little wary of men at first. Sully is now in a foster-looking to adopt home. Despite this initial hesitation, Sully warms up quickly, showing his sociable nature. His playful side shines through when he interacts with soft toys, often flinging them around the room in joy. Food is another passion of his, and he enjoys mealtimes enthusiastically. Sully particularly loves going for walks in quiet areas, which helps build his confidence. This aspect of his personality highlights his need for a calm and supportive environment. He is good with children and enjoys snuggling up on the sofa, making him a wonderful companion for families. A garden would be ideal for him to play in, along with daily walks to keep him happy and healthy. It is essential for Sully to be the only pet in the home, as he will need an experienced owner to help him remain calm around ot...

Sami – 4 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Sami is a 4 year 9 month old cross breed boy weighing 25kg. Currently in the UK. Sami spent 3 years in a shelter after being abandoned on the streets but found a home in the UK 3 months ago. Sadly however, Sami did not get on well with the resident dog in the home and so has been returned to us and now finds himself in Kennels. Having enjoyed being in a home environment Sami is struggling to cope in the kennels and we desperately need to re-home him urgently , before he shuts down completely. Even though life has been kind to him , Sami adores humans he craves attention and loves to be cuddled. He has such a loving, playful nature and he is extremely clever. We now know that Sami would probably be better being the only dog in the home. Sami deserves a home with humans who understand that he doesn’t mix well with other dogs but who will be able to manage this and provide Sami with the training and guidance he needs. Sami loves the outdoors , enjoying interesting and challenging wal...

It’s Been A Great Ride! On To The Next Adventure …

Image
When we launched GoPetFriendly sixteen years ago, our goal was to make it easy for people to travel with their pets. Perhaps you remember what it was like back then … when finding places to stay and things to do with your pets was HARD. It wasn’t that the idea of taking your pets with you on vacation was a new concept. Some people had been doing it for years. But they were the exception. Most people believed that traveling with a pet was extravagant, or weird, or just too difficult.   Pet Travel Gained Acceptance Things certainly have changed! Perhaps creating GoPetFriendly helped sparked a shift in thinking. But, over the years, millions of pet lovers have visited the site to plan trips with their furry family members, and that absolutely delights me! Eventually, as more people began traveling with their pets, businesses recognized the opportunity. Soon hotels, restaurants, and even entire cities began touting the fact that they were pet friendly. They added pet policies a...

Rescued from the streets of Cyprus while pregnant, Lucy’s puppies were quickly adopted, but she has been waiting in kennels for over two years. Despite this, her zest for life and love for people remains unshaken. Lucy is a people-oriented dog who adores human interaction. She’s confident, friendly with new people, and her playful, cheeky personality makes her a joy to be around. When let out of her kennel, she sprints like a rocket but quickly circles back to you for belly rubs. Her favourite pastime is splitting her energy between zoomies and lounging in the dirt for cuddles, always with her tail wagging furiously. Lucy is energetic but not overwhelming, and with a more active lifestyle, she’s ready to thrive. She loves being outdoors, exploring green spaces, or playing in a secure garden. Her i...
