Phoebe – 2 year old female English Pointer

Image
Phoebe is a 2 year English Pointer girl old currently in Cyprus. She was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter in September 2024. She was in quite a bad way – all skin and bone. She has been cared for at the shelter and has gained weight and is a firm favourite with the shelter team and the volunteers. Phoebe has a wonderful calm and gentle nature and a lovely friendly personality, she especially enjoys being around people and is very affectionate and loves being around children. In seeking her forever home Phoebe’s calm nature means that she gets along well with other dogs both male and female and could live alone or with a resident dog. She is very eager to please and behaves impeccably during her visits to the vets. She takes treats nice and gently and we are sure she will be a pleasure to train. Phoebe’s adopters will understand that as for any rescue dog, lots of love, time, patience and reassurance will be the key to help her settle into a home environment. We have ...

Lacie – 12 week old female Weimaraner cross Greyhound

Image
Meet Little Lacie – a 12-week-old female Weimaraner-Greyhound Cross. Lacie is a stunning young lady with a heart full of potential. At just 12 weeks old, she’s already faced an uncertain start in life, but now she’s safe, loved, and searching for her forever home. Being a puppy, Lacie is a blank canvas, ready to learn and grow into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. She’s currently thriving in a loving foster home, where she’s discovering the joys of family life and meeting new people. Lacie is proving to be an incredibly clever girl, quickly picking up on training such as learning to sit and understanding that her crate is a safe and cosy space for sleeping. Like all puppies, Lacie will need ongoing training to help her grow into a confident and well-rounded adult dog. Training classes are highly recommended to ensure she reaches her full potential. Weimaraners are known for being active and energetic, and even as a mix, Lacie will require plenty of physical exercise and mental...

Rory – 1 year old male Golden Retriever cross Spaniel

Image
Rory is a one-year-old male Golden Retriever/Spaniel cross. About Rory Rory was found as a stray and dumped in a local kennels in Cyprus before he found his way to us. An adorable, energetic and excitable boy in good health, we felt certain that Rory must have come from a home but sadly no one came to claim him and so he began the journey to find a new family. If he did have a home in Cyprus before he came to us they did minimal training and socialisation with him, but he truly has a heart of gold, he just needs someone with the patience and experience to work with him. Unfortunately for Rory, since he arrived in the UK he has had nothing but a string of back luck. This will be Rory’s third time seeking a new home: his first home’s resident dog wouldn’t accept him, and his second home surrendered him back into our care due to lack of experience. Rory just needed more than they were in a position to offer him. Rory is only a year old, so right in the midst of his adolescence. He is...

Shiva – 4 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Shiva is a 4 year old female Cross-Breed and is medium-sized. She is currently fostered in Somerset. Shiva and her siblings were born in kennels after their heavily pregnant mum was rescued from the streets. They have grown up in kennels, and Shiva has never had a real home, but she has always been showered with love and made lots of doggy and human friends there. Shiva has a lovely character, loves to explore, is very friendly with everyone she meets, and enjoys a good zoomie. Her ideal home would be in a rural or semi-rural area because she is not used to streets and ideally with another canine friend. She has basic lead training and is a very clever girl. Since being in a foster home, Shiva has become really scared and needs lots of reassurance. The big change from everything she knew has made her unsure of her new life. However, with every passing day, we slowly see improvements and her true happy character. She is mastering house training and getting used to the new people. ...

Freya – 4-5 year old female Segugio Italiano Cross

Image
Freya is a beautiful Segugio Italiano cross, estimated to be around 4-5 years old. She’s on the smaller side of medium and has been patiently waiting for almost three years to find her forever home. Found abandoned and severely underweight, Freya has been cared for by a local boarding kennel in Cyprus, where she’s blossomed into a gentle, affectionate, and sweet-natured dog. Freya is slightly reserved and shy when meeting new people, but she has made significant progress in building her confidence, thanks to her kennel mate, Ira. She thrives in calm and predictable environments and would do best with a patient family who can help her continue to grow. Freya gets along well with other dogs and has a submissive nature in group settings. She enjoys canine company but is also content living as the only dog, provided her adopters give her plenty of attention and reassurance. If there is a resident dog, it might help Freya settle in faster, but it’s not a requirement for her to thrive. F...

Ira – 12 year old female Ariegeois Hound

Image
Ira is a 12-year-old female Ariegeois Hound with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure. Rescued from a dire situation in 2022 where she was found starving in an outdoor cage, Ira has made an incredible recovery. For the past three years, she has been well cared for in a kennel environment, but now, as a senior dog, she deserves to spend her twilight years in the comfort of a loving home. Although Ira’s exact time left with us is uncertain, her vibrant spirit and zest for life make her a wonderful candidate for adoption. She’s now a confident, happy, and trusting dog who adores human attention. Ira has a wagging tail and wiggly energy for everyone she meets, and she’s always eager for fuss and affection. Ira currently shares her kennel with another dog, Freya, and her calming presence has done wonders to boost Freya’s confidence. While Ira is gentle and motherly towards younger dogs, she still has the hound’s trademark loud bark—used sparingly but unmistakably when it happen...

Willow – 16 week old female American Bulldog

Image
Wonderful Willow is searching for a loving home! Willow is a 16-week-old female American Bulldog who came to us as an unwanted pup. She has been flourishing in her foster home, where her carer describes her as ‘an all-round good girl’. She loves cuddles, playing, and sleeping! Willow is extremely food-orientated, making her easy to train using positive methods, as she is always keen to please. She is coming on leaps and bounds with her toilet training and is also crate trained, sleeping right through the night in her cosy den. Willow is great with her foster carer’s resident dogs and could live with another neutered dog. She can also live with dog-savvy cats, although she does want to chase the cats she currently lives with, but also loves to curl up with them for an afternoon nap! We are looking for someone with large breed experience, particularly someone who has had American Bulldogs or Mastiffs before. Her new family will need to continue her training using positive methods, as...

Harvey – 9-10 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Harvey is a large crossbreed aged around nine to ten years old. Harvey is fostered in Taverham Norfolk. This distinguished and fine looking gentleman was rescued from the Lancram kill shelter in Romania around two years ago and has been waiting in a private shelter since then. He is a calm and placid soul who is now delighting in the comforts of home life. He asks little from life other than a comfortable bed and a few kind words but we are asking for so much more for him. He deserves to be spoilt rotten in his twilight years, to be pampered and treated like a king for the rest of his days. Harvey gets on well with other dogs but would be more than happy to be the only dog in the home too. He would be happy to live with respectful children aged ten plus. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a...

Louie – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Our extra special boy Louie is approximately three years old and a rather small cross breed. Louie weighs just six kilos and measures eight inches from shoulder to paw. Having been surrendered by his owner as no longer wanted, Louie has been in our Cyprus shelter for just two weeks. With his perky ears, engaging stare and amazing multi-tan coat, Louie is quite stunning. He is just so calm and gentle with an excellent nature and warm disposition. Louie thoroughly enjoys his time with people and finds great satisfaction with a lap and a cuddle. Having been preloved, Louie is finding shelter life a challenge and longs to find a kind adopting family who will give him the security he deserves. Without doubt Louie will repay love and kindness so many times over. Louie walks nicely on his lead. He also seems to mix perfectly well with other dogs, cats and children. Louie is such an adorable and obvious adoption candidate.

Minsk – 5 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Minsk is a female mixed breed puppy aged around 5 months. As a guess she will be medium sized when fully grown. Minsk is fostered in North Walsham. Minsk has grown up at the public shelter in Botosani. We met her on our most recent visit and she is one of the lucky pups to come on transport to England. Due to being a young puppy, we are looking for a forever family where there is an adult at home for most of the day. All puppy adopters will need to work on training throughout their young life and anticipate accidents. Puppies do pee, they poo and they chew! When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog...

Roble – 3 year old male German Wire-Haired Pointer

Image
Roble is a three year old male German Wirehaired Pointer. Roble will need an understanding home with a friendly dog companion. He will need to learn to trust and enjoy life, and watching him come out of his shell will no doubt be an amazingly rewarding adventure. Roble had been waiting in a Spanish dog shelter in Valladolid, central Spain for over a year when we were asked to help. Poor Ruble has clearly had a very bad start in life, he is very cautious around people. His confidence has improved slightly since we have taken him to our usual kennels, and he gains great confidence by having a friendly dog buddy to follow around. Roble is in North Spain at the shelter we work closely with. He is ready to travel to the UK to his new home…. Roble’s date of birth is 15th August 2021 If you are interested in giving wonderful Roble a home, he is available at Setter Brittany Pointer Rescue. Roble is currently in North Spain but he is ready to travel to his special home in the UK as soon a...

Peppels – 1 year old male Bichon Frise Cross

Image
Meet Peppels, a 1-year-old male Bichon Cross weighing 8kg. Adorable little Peppels will be leaving Romania at the end of January and in foster here from the 1st of February. He is an absolute sweetheart, loving and affectionate with everyone. At one year of age, he is still quite puppy-like in his behaviour and loves playing with other dogs and people too. He is also very good with cats as you can see in the photos. Little Peppels was found wandering the streets on his own, looking sad and confused and so covered in thistles he couldn’t see properly. His rescuer thinks he was probably brought into the town from a nearby village just to abandon him there. We think he will be a wonderful addition to any loving, active home either on his own or with a friendly resident dog or cats.

Image
Missy – 14 week old Golden Doodle being fostered in Gloucestershire in adult home with other dogs and visiting children. This lovely little soul joined Starfish. You can tell she’s been well looked after and deeply loved, very balanced and laid-back nature which may change lol —a true credit to her previous owners. She’s a Standard Poodle x Golden Retriever (or a “Golden Doodle,” if you’re a breeder looking to put a fancy name on her and charge a fortune). She is basically like a model this dog bless her So sensible bless her likes to lay down to eat her meals With her foster mummy Walking beautifully We realise she will get a lot of interest but it has to be right – she will not be homed with entire dogs, very young children, people who have an understanding about her coat and the 6 weekly costs this will entail, people with time to take her dog training and know how important these months are in a young dogs ...

Suki – 7 year old female Dachshund cross Pug

Image
Meet Super Suki – an 7 year old female Dachshund cross Pug full of life and love! Suki is a brave, intelligent, and charismatic little lady with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Despite her challenges, she adores people and loves making new friends on her walks. She’s a cuddly, affectionate girl who will fill your home with love and joy. You may notice that Suki uses a fabulous pair of wheels to help her get around during walkies due to a lower back issue. Don’t worry – she’s been given the all-clear by the vet and doesn’t require any ongoing medical treatment. She just needs a caring home where she can live her best life! When out and about, Suki’s reactions to other dogs can vary. She might say hello, have a little sniff, or occasionally bark, but for the most part, she’s more interested in running around and having fun with her people. Zvonko – 1 year old male Shepherd Cross

Image
Zvonko is a 1-year-old male Cross-Breed currently residing in Croatia. This young and energetic dog found his way to the shelter in early December after being brought in by a utility policeman from Vitaljina. At the time, Zvonko wasn’t microchipped, and his background remained uncertain. However, through social media posts, his owner was identified. Despite an initial agreement to retrieve Zvonko on New Year’s Eve, his owner failed to honour the arrangement. Attempts to contact him revealed a sudden change of heart, leaving Zvonko abandoned and in need of a new home. During his stay at the shelter, Zvonko has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, ensuring he is ready for a fresh start in a loving environment. Zvonko has a friendly nature and gets along exceptionally well with both dogs and people, making him an excellent candidate for a family looking for a social and loving companion. His personality shines with warmth and affection, and he is eager to bring joy to his future...
