Sam – 10 year old male Cross-Breed

Sam, also known as Hugo, is around 10 years old and is desperately needing a new home. He was used to home life and is not happy in kennels.

He is very active for his age and can still do zoomies, being the best walking companion one could ask for. Sam can be choosy with who he likes, so he needs time to get to know you, but once the bond is there, he will be your loyal companion forever.

Once bonded, he is a cuddly, loving, playful, funny boy with a gorgeous smile. Hugo is the protecting type. All he wants is to be the centre of your universe, and he will love you 100%.

However, if he perceives a threat to you, he will guard you with his life. His ideal home would be a rural life in a croft setting with few distractions from visitors and other dogs.

He would make a fabulous companion for someone living slightly off-grid who needs a guard dog by their side.

Hugo walks using a harness and loves his walks and exploring. He would really like an active person to take him off into the hills and trails. He can be reactive to strangers coming to the home, so he needs slow introductions and time to get to know new people or visitors.

He is a protective dog by nature, so this must be considered first and foremost when applying for Hugo. Hugo likes to learn new tricks as he is super clever.

He is crate trained and housetrained and can be left. Hugo is not really a sharer with other dogs, but he can tolerate females. He likes to keep his food and toys to himself, so he is best suited to being the only dog in the home.

He has had training to encourage sharing and has improved each time, but we feel he needs an experienced adopter to continue this training and should be placed in an adult-only home.

He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
