Nala – 3 year old female Rottweiler
Nala is a 3 year old female Rottweiler in need of a new home. She currently lives with children, a dog and a cat but she does chase the cat and bark at him which her owner thinks is Nala wanting to play.
She is a very bouncy energetic young girl so needs a home where she will get lots of exercise and playtime so she’s both physically and mentally stimulated. Cuddles are also something Nala will need in abundance as she’s a very friendly and affectionate girl who is used to lots of love.
Nala walks very well on a halti but does sometimes lunge at passing cars so anyone walking her does need to always be aware of that. Her recall isn’t great as she’s easily distracted so that would need to be worked on for off lead walks where suitable.
Nala is crate trained and happily sleeps in her crate at night, she isn’t used to being home alone as her current owners work shifts with someone always at home so that is something that may take time for her to get used to and would need to be built up slowly.
We have been told, and have witnessed, Nala being a food thief, she will scavenge as well as steal food from kitchen work surfaces etc, but the being food orientated does also help with her training.
As she currently lives with children we would consider a home with children 5+, and also with another dog pending a successful meet but the dog would need to be able to tolerate the large giddy bouncy girl that she is. Nala is vaccinated and chipped and will be speyed as part of the adoption process.
Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to meet her in South Yorkshire. As always we require everyone in the family and any children who are regularly going to be in contact with the dog to attend the meet.
Our usual process is that you will need to come and meet the dog and that adoption is then done on a second meet. For some dogs additional meets may be required and potential adopters will be required to travel to the dogs location for all meets.
If you are suited we will then arrange a homecheck, vet reference and meet with the dog. We only rehome where all resident and previous animals are/were regularly vaccinated and neutered/speyed unless on veterinary advice. All of our dogs have rescue back up.
