Dexter – 5-6 year old male Cross-Breed

Dexter is a 5-6 year old male Cross-Breed. He is a beautiful little dog who is full of beans and so deserving of a loving forever home. He was found in a notorious kill shelter in Romania and thankfully rescued and awaiting his second chance in a UK foster home.

Dexter is seemingly endless in length, but definitely a small dog by his height with only little legs! He is extremely clever and extremely motivated by treats – doing absolutely anything to get one. This is such a winning combination and means he can pick up training very quickly.

Dexter does tend to bark initially when meeting new people, and can be quite vocal. He seems to be more wary of meeting men and would require someone willing to go slowly and build a bond with him. He loves his foster Dad very much and spends lots of time with him!

Dexter’s favourite toys are teddies which he likes to carry around as he follows you. He also loves to play fetch with a ball. He would love a garden to run around in all day long.

Dexter really enjoys his walks and accepts the lead well. He has had some training off-lead but would need to be allowed to settle and build his confidence further to achieve this.

Dexter can jump and mouth when he gets over-excited, so for this reason we feel not best suited to a home with very small children. As he is so smart, he could easily learn to stop doing this with further training.

Dexter gets along well with other dogs but would need to be fed separately, he would steal their food given half a chance!

Dexter is housetrained and sleeps through the night. He travels well in a car and has also been on a train with no issues.

Dexter has been vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and health checked by a vet. He is currently being fostered in Lincolnshire.
