Jenny – 1 year old female Shepherd Cross

Jenny is a 1 year old female Shepherd Cross. Jenny and Jamie were rescued from a farmer who had been keeping a pack of dogs in very poor conditions on his property.

Jenny is just under a year old and despite being a Cypriot dog through and through she looks like so many of the Romanian street dogs we deal with, so we’re hoping that she’s not overlooked in the same way so many of them are.

Jenny is a sweetheart and although she has some Shepherd in her genes, she’s much more delicate with a slim, athletic physique.

Jenny measures around 51cm from floor to shoulder and has a delicate, nimble frame. She is super friendly and loves being around other dogs and people. Despite her poor back story, she has retained a lot of trust in people and doesn’t struggle to socialise at all.

Jenny is only a puppy, so she’s still learning how to read canine body language and figure out which dogs want to play and which dogs want their space, but she’s very, very clever and she’s picking up new things every day.

Her life before now has been quite isolated and sheltered, and she’s never experienced the feeling of having a family or being inside a home before, so she’s got so many new things ahead of her to navigate!

Jenny, therefore, needs a loving, patient and understanding home that knows and appreciates the value of time, which will help Jenny to figure it all out and settle in at her own pace.

Jenny loves her walks and is getting better on the lead all the time but will pull from excitement.

With more of a structured routine and more regular exercise, we expect this will begin to subside, but right now everything is exciting for Jenny and we can completely understand that.

Jenny would love a home with an active lifestyle, and a family who enjoy long walks and being outdoors.

Jenny would also really benefit from a home with a garden, as she’s always had immediate outdoor access and we think she would settle into a new home faster with a garden of her own. Jenny is great with people and loves a cuddle.

Jenny is very affectionate, loyal and sweet-tempered, and she would make a great addition to a home with or without other dogs.

As she has had canine company her entire life it might be a bit of a shock for her to be alone if she’s adopted as the only dog, but she is confident enough to adapt with a bit of time.

Jenny loves to play and be around other dogs though too, so she would be happy to have a friend. She has not been tested with cats, but she’s friendly with children and suitable for kids aged 8+.

Jenny’s never lived alongside them before hence us looking for slightly older children. Jenny is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.

Phoebe is a 1-2 year old female Shepherd Cross. She sleeps downstairs in a large crate with the door open. Her current owner has been sleeping downstairs with her.
