Fergus – 8 month old male Cross-Breed

Fergus is an 8 month old male Cross-Breed. He is not neutered due to age, DHPPIRL vaccinated and microchipped. He is blood tested for all diseases including brucellosis testing.

Fergus is Flea and worm treated. He will travel with a fitted collar and on approved transport. He loves human contact. He loves belly tickles Fergus is available for adoption after being abandoned in the forest in Romania.

Fergus is currently in private foster where he is being cared for by NGO rescuer Andreea. No behaviours have been noted whilst in Andrea’s care. Fergus has no bite history whilst being in foster.

Fergus has some house training as he is in private foster, However further support is needed after the long journey and being in an unfamiliar environment. Exercise should not be too highly fixated upon him entering a new home.

We need him to become comfortable with being in his new surroundings with new people, sounds smell and experiences before introducing him to any further, overwhelming stimuli, he should be allowed at least a week to adjust to garden practice before entering the big world.

Introduce walks down the street to build a scent circle and work your way up to a full walk over time.

Fergus is happy to meet new people on coming into a new home after a long journey it is important not to overwhelm him initially to allow him to build trust with his family first. Fergus hasn’t shown any unwanted behaviour towards other dogs.

Fergus does love his human’s attention so as an only dog Fergus would cope very well with his humans close by. Fergus doesn’t live with them.

Fergus has no handling issues and has shown acceptance of being handled by the rescuers. He has shown no allergies, intolerances or issues with any foods whilst in foster.

Fergus currently eats local kibble. This will need to be done Gradually, increasing the time you are away from the home. Resident and visiting Children of 7+ years would be acceptable for Fergus. He has previously met children with no negative issues. Fergus has no known health issues.

Fergus has shown no issues with veterinary professionals whilst in rescue. He is not used to travelling and this will need to be gradually built up over time.

Fergus will need to be securely fitted abiding by current travel laws. Anyone intending to adopt a dog from the meadow of Hope dog rescue must have the facilities, time, financial means, knowledge and skills necessary to ensure a good standard of welfare and a long-term commitment to the dog.

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 imposes a duty on people to take reasonable steps to ensure that the needs of any animals they are responsible for are met. A secure garden with at least a 5ft boundary.
