Dexter – 7 month old male Collie Cross

Dexter is a 7 month old male Collie Cross. “I came to SEDR as an unclaimed stray and my microchip shows I have already have several homes. I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

I am typical puppy with boundless energy and little training, and will need an experienced Collie home who understand how to help mould me into a well rounded dog. I am not a dog for a first time owner, or someone who is out of the house for long periods.

I absolutely love to meet new people and am rather enthusiastic in my greetings, and am learning to keep all four feet on the floor when I say hello to people! I haven’t had any lead training, so this is a work in progress! I am very strong on the lead but am learning to walk nicely on a harness. When I first arrived, I would try and chase cars, but this has improved considerably with training.

I am looking for a home with someone who loves training (using positive reinforcement) as I am like a little sponge – desperate to learn and be stimulated. I will need someone who has lots of energy, and will give me a job to do to keep me focused – such as agility or cani- cross.

I need a home as an only dog who can continue my socialisation with other dogs. I meet other dogs nicely and will walk alongside other dogs, but if I get too excited I may end up nipping them (which not all dogs take kindly to!)

I cannot live with cats. I am looking for a home without children under 12 years old because I am too bouncy for little ones and because I need someone who devote the majority of their time to me and my training.

If you have the time, the patience, the love and the background in training that I need, then please fill in the pre adoption form using the link here. Love and licks (and a LOT of energy!) Dexter.” – Quote
