Timos is a 7-year-old male Cross-Breed. He is a small-sized dog with an adorable appearance, but he can be anxious and needs an experienced owner who can provide guidance and reassurance. Timos has had a difficult past, including an attack by another dog, which has made him reactive when on a lead. He panics when he sees other dogs and may become defensive. However, with dedicated training at the rescue, he has made progress and now has some canine friends. With careful introductions, he could live with a compatible dog. He is a smart and eager learner who enjoys training. Despite his anxieties, he is affectionate and forms deep bonds with his trusted humans. His devotion and loyalty will make him a wonderful companion for the right person. Timos needs a quiet, adult-only home where he can feel safe. Fun-loving Poppet is an active and playful boy who is intelligent and loves to learn. He forms strong bonds with people and has a huge fan base amongst his carers at Mayhew. He enjoys seeing other dogs on walks and is learning all about doggy etiquette. Typical of his breed, this young boy can be overenthusiastic at times, and he still has a lot to learn; however, he’s responding well to the training he’s receiving at Mayhew. Poppet is looking for a dedicated owner who is knowledgeable about dog behaviour and who will keep him both mentally and physically stimulated to help him flourish into the well-adjusted dog he has the huge potential to be. Bodhi – 3 year old female Cross-Breed is a small-medium sized dog available for foster or foster with a view to adopt. Bodhi is very smart and is very good at learning new tricks and commands. She is a real foodie and never stops getting excited about treats, which makes her very trainable. Bodhi accepts a harness and lead and should always wear a harness as she can slip out of a collar when she gets spooked. She is best kept double-leaded until she is familiar with her new environment. Bodhi is good on the lead, can walk to heel or ahead, whatever she is told. She never pulls and knows to stop, wait, and leave it. She also has good recall. She loves being active and being in open spaces where she can do her zoomies. Her owners also started doing basic agility training with her, having her jump over hurdles or benches, and she absolutely adores it. Topaz is a medium sized crossbreed aged around two years old. Topaz is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. Topaz has come into our care recently from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. She was in with two other dogs and one of them would not let either of the other two come out of the wooden huts without he nipping them. We took both of the victimised dogs and both are doing brilliantly well in their UK foster homes. Topaz was initially quite shy but once she realised she no longer has to watch her back and can move around freely without fear of attack she quickly relaxed and settled in. She picked up lead training very quickly but will need to build up her fitness after being so restricted in the shelter for weeks. She mixes well with other dogs but could also live as the only dog in the home. She is a quiet and placid dog who still has some opening up to do. Vichy is a 3 year old female Cross-Breed, weighing 22 kg and standing 52 cm tall at the shoulder. She was rescued from the streets in April 2024, where she was regularly chased and abused by children and locals. At the time, she was very scared of people and had to be captured to ensure her safety. She was also heavily pregnant with pups. Vichy is a completely different dog now—she has learned to trust people again and wants nothing more than to please you. Her tail never stops wagging, and she loves cuddles, showing her affectionate and loving nature. She even has a unique, wide smile where she shows her teeth when she’s happy, which is incredibly cute. She cooperates well with humans and is truly the sweetest girl who deserves the best home. Malna is a 1.5 year old crossbreed girl, she was dumped on the roadside along with her sister at about 2.5 months of age. She is medium size, weight: 15 kg, shoulder height: 44 cm. Malna is a lovely girl, she is friendly and kind and loves everyone. She is energetic and playful and sociable around her doggie mates. She enjoys nothing more than running around in the fields with other dogs, playing a chase. She cooperates nicely with humans too and is very kind with humans. Jessie is a 2 year old female Cross-Breed. She came into the rescue from the street in a very poor state, she was skin and bone and hardly pulled through. She was nurtured back to health though, but sadly nobody really wanted to adopt her so far and she’s been living in the shelter since December 2022, totally undeserved. Jessie is a placid little dog, she is quite chilled and lives peacefully with all dogs in the shelter. Her best friend is Daisy, they hardly leave each other’s side and keep licking and kissing. Kedves is a 11 month old female Cross-Breed, expected to be medium size when fully grown. Kedves and her 12 siblings were rescued from horrible circumstances; they were emaciated and kept in very poor condition. One of the pups did not survive, but 12 did (the Dirty Dozen). Blue is a 3 year old female Husky Cross. She was originally rescued from Cyprus and arrived in the UK in October 2020. Since then she has been given so much love and been well cared for, but sadly her family feel that they’re just unable to give her the lifestyle and environment that she truly needs to thrive. Rory is a one-year-old male Golden Retriever/Spaniel cross. About Rory Rory was found as a stray and dumped in a local kennels in Cyprus before he found his way to us. An adorable, energetic and excitable boy in good health, we felt certain that Rory must have come from a home but sadly no one came to claim him and so he began the journey to find a new family. If he did have a home in Cyprus before he came to us they did minimal training and socialisation with him, but he truly has a heart of gold, he just needs someone with the patience and experience to work with him. Our extra special girl Roxy is an 18 month old female Cross-Breed, medium in size, weighing just 11 kilograms and measuring 12 inches from shoulder to paw. Sadly, Roxy came into our Cyprus shelter as little more than a puppy and part of another unwanted litter. She deserves so much better. Roxy is intimidated by shelter life. She is very shy and introverted. With her wire-haired coat and beautiful eyes, she is absolutely stunning. Roxy has a delicate and calm, gentle demeanour. Her personality is that of a real lady with impeccable manners. Roxy is made for family life and longs for a forever home where she can enjoy love, warmth, comfort, and security. Zac is a 5 month old male Cross-Breed currently in a shelter in Cyprus. He was found on a beach alongside his mum and three siblings. All are now safe and well, and the puppies are thriving and growing fast. We think that the pups will be medium in size when fully grown, around 15-20kg. In the shelter, the puppies are learning to socialise, but they really need a loving home to bring them on and help them reach their full potential. Zac is slightly smaller than his siblings and incredibly shy and worried. He is the baby who hides behind his big brother—so timid. Zac has such a soulful face and the most wonderful Black and Tan colouring; he looks like a black dog who has been dipped feet-first into a pot of ginger paint!
