Malu – 5-6 year old female Saluki Cross

Image
Malu is a 5.5 year old female Saluki Cross who’s currently in a foster home in Oman. She was brought to our attention in June 2021 by two girls who were feeding her. They sent us videos of Malu tied up in a dirty shed surrounded by rubbish and eating food off the floor. They told us that Malu was aggressive but couldn’t describe in what way. One of our coordinators drove 6 hours to rescue Malu and brought her back to Muscat. She said Malu had shown her the “wolf face” when she first met her but soon relaxed. Back at our pound, Malu showed her wolf face to new people but after some time, she became much better at meeting new people. When we took Malu to the vets to be spayed, it was found that she had lots of cysts on her ovaries which were thought to be a contributing factor to her wolf face behaviour. The saddest discovery though was that she had an old bullet lodged in one of her back legs and an old fracture on her other back leg. We will never know Malu’s history but we know sh...

Safra – 1-2 year old female Saluki Cross

Image
Safra is a 1.5 year old female Saluki Cross who’s currently in a foster home in Oman. She was found on the streets by a friend who was on holiday visiting the foster family, and as Safra was so friendly, they couldn’t leave her to her fate. The foster family have 5 other dogs who Safra gets along well with. They also have 4 cats and have said that Safra is not interested in them and doesn’t try to interact with them but is happy to live with them. In the house, Safra is house trained and knows to go outside for the toilet. She will however still chew items if she is left alone for too long! Safra’s ideal home would be with people with sighthound experience or a good knowledge of the breed. She’s very active and energetic and enjoys a good run around the garden but then she is happy and content to sleep and relax in the house. She could live with or without other dogs and cats and could live with respectful children as she is very gentle. She is described as being very affection...

Image
Rocky is a 1 year old male Cross-Breed. He is our extra special boy. He is at the very bottom end of medium and has a beautiful shiny black coat with a white flash to his chest and white tips to his paws. Rocky has been in our Cyprus shelter for a month having been found wandering the streets. He is the absolute favourite of our shelter staff. Rocky has a cheeky smile, enthusiasm for life and a very happy disposition. Rocky walks nicely on his lead and mixes perfectly well with other dogs, cats and children.

Sunny – 5 year old male Akita

Image
Sunny is a 5 year old male Akita. This stunning boy is “Wow” Sunny (that’s what everyone says when they meet him). He has found himself in our care and looking for a new home through no fault of his own. Sunny by name, Sunny by nature, he is an absolute delight, affectionate and loving he adores to be around people. He is a nosey boy and likes to know what’s going on around him. He also enjoys a car journey and watches the world go by. Sunny does pull a little on the lead and can be strong when he wants to be (there goes the nosey bit again) so his new family would need to spend some time on his lead work. Due to us having no previous history Sunny is unable to live with children under the age of 12 years but we would welcome applications from adult only homes or homes with older, dog aware children. He has tested well with the female Akitas at kennels and would be able to live with a nice natured, spayed larger breed female companion if introductions go well. Sunny is fully va...

Shelley – 6 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Shelley is a 6 year old female Cross-Breed. ” I needing a new home. I have been neutered and microchipped. I am an extremely friendly and social girl who adores people. I love a cuddle, and am always up for a new adventure, or a duvet day on the sofa with my favourite people. I could live with dog savvy children. I have tested well with other dogs and could live with other dogs or as an only dog. I’m not overly playful with other dogs and would rather have cuddles with a human or chase a ball!! Upon a routine check up, it was discovered that I have mitral valve disease (MVD) which is a heart problem caused by a faulty heart valve. Mitral valve disease cannot be cured, but fortunately most dogs can be well managed with medication and lifestyle changes. At this point in time, it’s not affecting my health or exercise regime but my new family need to be aware that this is a degenerative condition and there is no way to tell how slowly or quickly this will progress…but can eventually le...

Lola – 1-2 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Lola is a 1-2 year old female Cross-Breed. She is born on November 2021, and she is looking for her forever home. Sadly her owners work circumstances changed, and he was unable to take her to work with him, as a result she was left with his elderly parents who were unable to instill any boundaries. She became too boisterous for them to cope with. Hence coming to us. Her temperament is really lovely, and she is friendly to all, dogs big or small, young or old, loves adults and children alike, but probably to much for nervous or vey small children unused to bouncy dogs. She is fine with our cats who are completely indifferent to dogs, but again not for nervous cats, or those unused to dogs. She takes little notice of our horses, likes to sniff them, but this is only allowed on a lead, because when they kick up their heels and frolic it’s pretty much a given she would want to run with them, and probably would end up hurt as one of them protects his mate. She hasn’t demonstrated any pre...

Badger & Cheeky – 11-14 year old male Springer cross Labrador and Parson Russell Terrier

Image
Badger & Cheeky are 11-14 year old male Springer cross Labrador and Parson Russell Terrier. Badger is an 11 year old Springer cross Labrador, and Cheeky is his 14 year old Parson Russell Terrier who are in foster in Chippenham, Wiltshire, waiting for someone to offer them a new home together. Badger and Cheeky are really lovely dogs who took only a couple of days to settle in foster care. They love to be around their family, Badger playing fetch, and Cheeky snuggling. They do like to have company but are fine when left for up to 4 hours occasionally. Cheeky will whine on and off when left though. Badger is fine with dogs once introduced, but Cheeky can be a little wary of them. They need a home together where they are your only dogs. We don’t know how they would be with cats. They don’t seem to pay much attention to cats they see on walks. Cheeky and Badger should be fine around older children who are used to dogs. They haven’t lived with children before but were used to having...

Coda – 1 year old male Retriever Cross

Image
Coda is a 1 year old male Retriever Cross. He is our extra special boy and he came over from our Cyprus shelter a couple of months ago to a family where he is loved and adored. Sadly, there has been a sudden change of circumstance in that family and they are no longer able to keep him. Coda is a stunningly good looking boy with his snowy white coat , golden ears , freckles on his snout and golden spots on his back. Herbie – 1-2 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Herbie is a 1-2 year old male Cross-Breed. He is approximately 28kg and he came through our doors 8 months ago and was rehomed. He is sadly being returned due to no real faults of his own, This poor young boy really deserves a happy ever after. Herbie would love a home where he can be provided with lots of exercise as he has lots of energy to burn! Herbie is sociable with other dogs and he could live with another female dog. Herbie is very bouncy and can be boisterous with other dogs.

Sunny – 5 year old female Cross-Breed

Image

Sadie – 7 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Image
Sadie is a 7 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross. She is fostered with Cannock Staffs. We have recently taken her in because her owners ill health meant she wasn’t getting the care she deserves. Sadie is a very sweet but nervous/anxious girl. Sadly she’s not been walked or out of the house for over a year and she will need time to adjust to being out and about again. Sadie can bark at strangers due to this but is very affectionate when she gets to know you. Sadie loves and adores children, and she is ok with women but can be very nervous and wary around men. Sadie is understandably nervous on walks with traffic, people etc but with training and practise she will grow in confidence. Sadie loves balls/rope toys and would benefit from living with another, more confident dog. Sadie hates cats and would love to eat the chickens, typical terrier prey drive. She’s not great in the car but does settle periodically. Sadie is a really sweet girl who would like a home where she is...

Jubbly – 3 year old male Terrier

Image
Jubbly is a 3 year old male Terrier. He is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. He is originally came into our care around a year ago from the Botosani public shelter in Romania where he was terrified and shut down. Once here and away from the shelter he was a totally different dog without an ounce of effort from us! He jogged off that van with his tail wagging and a grin on his face and was quickly adopted. Sadly he has just been returned to us for not getting on well with the children so we will now be looking for an adult home for him and he is sensible teenagers would be fine. Jubbly is a friendly, jovial little chap but can be typically protective when in the home. He chases cats but gets on well with dogs. This fab little dog is just a delight to be around, he loves his walks and us looking for a fairly active home. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which s...

Rio – 3 year old male Collie Cross

Image
Rio is a 3 year old male Collie Cross. He is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. He has come into our care recently from a UK home where the domestic situation had changed dramatically and him being there was no longer workable. Rio is an absolute sweetheart and has settled brilliantly into his foster home despite it being polar opposites to the home he has been in since he was ten weeks old. He has always lived as an only dog but is getting on brilliantly with the multiple dogs in his foster home. Rio has been friendly and sociable with men, women and children in his foster home but would need a home with no children under twelve. Rio travels brilliantly in a car and can be left home alone for reasonable periods of time. He walks well on a lead and loves his walks. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, the...

Lemon – 1 year old female Greyhound

Image
Lemon is a 1 year old female Greyhound. She is fostered in Beaconsfield (not Surrey). At such a tender ago Lemon has had a shakey start in life. She was taken to a pound by a family who had rescued her from conditions they felt deeply unsuitable for her. We offered her a rescue space and she is now in a foster home having the time of her life but needs a forever home to brighten. Lemon really is a ray of sunshine and is winning hearts all over the place. She loves people, all people and she loves to play with other dogs but could also be an only dog. Lemon is good with children and travels perfectly in a car. Please do not be alarmed by the pink patch on her shoulder she had a small injury there and the vet got a little carried away with the antiseptic spray. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then...
