Merry – 2-3 year old male Bluetick Coonhound Cross

Meet Merry, a delightful Bluetick Coonhound cross, currently living in Cyprus. Merry and his companion, Pippin, were found living outside a workspace when they were rescued. Thankfully, space was available to take them in, but as of now, both dogs are still waiting for their forever homes.

Merry is a beautiful dog with the classic hound traits: full of energy, always on the go, and with a keen interest in everything around him. True to his breed, he loves following his nose, and he’s always eager to explore the world.

He is a social butterfly and gravitates toward anyone who will show him affection. Merry adores cuddles and is always ready to distribute kisses, offering his gentle paw if you stop giving him attention too early. Plus, he has soft, velvet-like ears that make him even more endearing!

Everyone who meets Merry at the shelter comments on his lovely nature. Over the months, he’s learned to keep his calm in situations where he used to get excited, and his manners have greatly improved.

Merry is an affectionate and friendly dog, trusting everyone he meets, even if they’ve only just met. He’s eager to belong to a family and is waiting to find his place in a home.

Merry is great with other dogs but is also confident enough to be the only dog in the household. He has not been tested with cats, and based on his breed, he would likely not be suitable for a home with small pets.

Merry can live with children aged 7 and older, as his energy levels can be a bit much for younger kids. However, he is very friendly and would likely be just as lovely with younger children once they are able to handle his playful energy.

Merry is an intelligent dog who would thrive with proper training and an active lifestyle. He would make a great companion for an energetic, outdoorsy family looking for a dog to join them on adventures and explorations. Merry would love a home with direct access to a secure garden, where he can roam and play.

As a hound, Merry would be an excellent partner for activities like scent work or man trailing, as his investigative instincts are strong. He enjoys physical and mental stimulation to keep his mind sharp, and he would excel at any activity that taps into these natural abilities.

Merry is currently in Cyprus with a clean bill of health and ready to travel to his forever home.
