Elly – 2 year old female Kokoni

Image
Our extra special girl Ellie is approximately two years old and almost certainly a Kokoni. Ellie weighs ten kilograms and is unquestionably a little overweight. She measures just eight inches from shoulder to paw. Ellie has been in our Cyprus for two weeks having been surrendered by her owner who was no longer able to keep her. Our shelter manager describes Ellie as delightful to care for and has a wonderful and vibrant personality. The Kokoni breed was over many centuries for companionship and Ellie will certainly provide that for her very fortunate adopter. With her pretty face, amazing ears and puppy dog eyes she wins hearts instantly. Ellie thoroughly enjoys a cuddle and a lap and all forms of human companionship. She is simply adorable and yearns for her forever home. Ellie walks nicely on her lead. She seems to mix perfectly well with other dogs, cats and children. https://www.dogsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/VID-20250414-WA0022.mp4

Richelle – 5-6 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Richelle is a medium sized crossbreed aged around five to six years old. Richelle is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. Richelle is one of the most sad and broken dogs that I’ve met in a while, and I really do meet a lot of sad and broken dogs. She was cowered in a corner of a pen when we visited the Botosani public shelter in January. Her body language was absolute hopelessness and despair. She flinched and whimpered at every touch and in the days we were there we never once saw her hold her head up. We brought Richelle to the UK at the earliest opportunity and she is now in a UK foster home. Her fear is of humans and she continues to act like she’s about to be beaten at any moment …. even when she is approaching people she knows and likes for a fuss. Richelle will now wag her tail when she sees people she knows but the whimpering and fear when human hands make contact holds true. She is at complete conflict between enjoying the fuss and expecting the worst at any second. I honestly do...

Tucker – 5 year old male Golden Retriever

Image
Please meet Trusty Tucker! Tucker is a 5 year old male Golden Retriever and is absolutely adorable. Tucker was saved from the Chinese meat market by Harbin rescue. Yes, dogs are food in China. If you don’t know, the meat markets are absolutely evil and the treatment the dogs get and the things they have seen is nothing short of hell. Tucker is one of the lucky ones and has come to us in the UK to find her forever home. If you are not aware, there are no animal welfare laws in China so no dog is ever safe there, which is why the dogs are sent overseas to be rehomed, to make sure they are safe and loved for life! Tucker is testament to everything dog. Despite where he has come from he shows nothing but love and loves to give you a bear hug when you come into the room. He is a wonderful lad and it breaks my heart when I think of what could have happened to him if Harbin hadn’t rescued him from the meat truck that day. Tucker is a wonderful dog, and I absolutely adore him! He is just a...

Kimi – 5 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Kimi is a 5 month old female Cross-Breed. Kimi is an absolute poppet of a puppy and is actually one of a litter of EIGHT bothers and sisters … We will be travelling her beautiful mama and her 7 siblings soon, but as Kimi was poorly as a pup and needed to be taken away from the litter (who then would not accept her back), we decided to travel her first. I cannot begin to tell you how totally perfect she is and she’s as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Kimi is just the most friendly and loving little bundle of fluff you will EVER meet and is a firm favourite at the rescue. She loves everyone she meets and already has lots of human and doggy friends. She lives in the house and is already crate and house trained, but will need work with other basic training as she’s only a baby. We haven’t done any lead work with her yet, but I’m sure she will take that in her stride just like she has everything else. Kimi is currently 5 months old and is still quite small, so we expec...

Gracie – 3 year old female Pug Cross

Image
Gracie is a 3-year-old female Pug Cross, likely mixed with a Boston Terrier. She arrived in rescue care alongside another dog after being abandoned and subsequently rescued by inspectors. Despite her past, she remains a lively and affectionate little dog with a charming personality. She is extremely sociable and enjoys being around people, always eager for attention and interaction. Full of energy, Gracie is excitable and constantly on the move. She loves her walks but can be quite vocal when she sees other people and dogs. Her enthusiasm sometimes leads to over-arousal, during which she can become mouthy. Because of this, she would benefit from continued positive, reward-based training to help her manage her excitement and improve her obedience. Gracie is looking for a home where she will have companionship for most of the day. She thrives on attention and would do best in an environment where she is not left alone for long periods. Due to her excitable nature, she is best suited...

Max and Millie – 12 and 5 year old male Cross-Breed and Rottweiler

Image
Max and Millie are a bonded pair urgently in need of a foster home due to both owners being taken into hospital so they’re currently home alone. Max is a 12 year old crossbreed and Millie is a 5 year old tiny Rottweiler. Both dogs are super friendly with everyone they meet, they love cuddles and fuss and would love a home with a garden. They haven’t been getting walked so don’t need a particularly active home straight away, they need company and love, and somewhere to sunbathe and sniff. I did take them for a walk today and they’re both lovely on the lead and did enjoy being outside so would be happy with gentle strolls. We don’t know what they’d be like with other dogs so we can’t rehome them with other dogs but they have previously lived with cats so we could rehome them with cats. They’ve never been around young children so we’d be looking for a home with older children (12+). They are chipped and vaccinated but unsure about being neutered or speyed, this is something we’ll find...

Mike – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Mike, a charming 1 year old male cross breed medium-sized dog, is now living in Blackpool, in the UK. With his vaccinations up to date and his flea and worm treatments complete, Mike is ready to embark on the next chapter of his life with a loving family. Although still too young to be neutered, Mike’s bright personality shines through, making him an irresistible addition to any home. As a puppy, Mike thrives in the company of others, whether it be canine companions, feline friends, or children aged 5 and above. His adaptable nature and playful spirit make him a joy to be around, bringing laughter and love wherever he goes. Despite his recent arrival in the UK, Mike is already making strides in his training, showing promise in both toilet and lead manners. However, as with any puppy, ongoing training and guidance will be essential to help him reach his full potential. With his friendly disposition and affectionate nature, Mike has quickly captured the hearts of those around him. ...

Hugo – 2 year old male Vizsla Cross

Image
Hugo is a 2.5 year old male Vizsla Cross. He is as sweet as he is handsome! He is currently located in Cyprus and is ready to fly to the UK once he is adopted. Hugo is a boy with a lovely character and full of enthusiasm. Hugo was found wandering in a village for weeks begging for someone to take him home. Hugo is an affectionate and loving boy. From the beginning, Hugo was a very shy dog, but his nervousness was not redirected into reactivity and/or aggression. Most likely his fearful behavior was a result of bad treatment in the past. Now he loves to be hugged and stroked by the volunteers at the shelter so with just a bit of patience and a lot of love he can become the most loving doggy. He’s intelligent and will thrive with ongoing training while he learns the house rules. Hugo has high levels of energy, as any Vizsla does:) and he will enjoy his walks, exercise and play with other friendly doggie. Hugo would be best suited to life with a family or as the best mate to ...

Rusty – 3-4 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Image
Rusty is a 3-4 year old male Staffie mix with a soft, affectionate nature who has found shelter life particularly difficult after previously experiencing the comfort of a home. Originally picked up as a stray, Rusty spent a short time in foster care before being moved into the shelter once space became available. Unfortunately, the transition has been tough for him. He has shown clear signs that he is not coping well with the high-stress environment, and we believe he was once someone’s companion. He seems very much like a dog who knows what it is to live in a home and has struggled significantly with the loss of that comfort. In the kennel environment, Rusty finds it hard to switch off. He paces, pants, and struggles to fully relax. However, outside the noise and adrenaline of shelter life, he’s a different dog. On walks or when receiving some calm, 1-2-1 attention, he is so much calmer – affectionate, relaxed and eager for fuss. He has formed strong bonds with the shelter volunte...

Image
Bart is a 21 week old male Pointer Cross. A volunteer found Bart and his siblings running on a main road toward cars. She caught them and they went to safety in rescue in Cyprus Bart flew to a foster and he is currently on Hayling Island, in Hampshire. This is what his foster mum says about him. Bart is now 21 weeks old and he walks well on a lead for a puppy. He gets on well with all her dogs. He likes people but can be a little nervous when meeting strange dogs but soon relaxes when he knows they are friendly. He is house trained and settles well in a crate . Bart loves fusses and cuddles. He likes to play but is not over the top. He travels well in the car with a seatbelt on. You couldn’t wish for a nicer puppy and he is a beautiful soul. He makes little happy noises when he is asleep which is so cute. Bart is now looking for his forever home in the UK. He comes with full Rescue back up from Saving Souls.

Nicol – 6 year old female Greyhound Cross

Image
Nicol was rescued from a horrendous pound in poor condition however following treatment she is now in perfect health. She is nearly 6 and a half years old and about 25kg. She is described as a greyhound cross lady. She is very sweet dog who is friendly with everyone. She does still pull a bit on the lead but is obedient and gentle. She loves to be with people and loves company and may suit an older retired couple. No cats Nicol is currently in Cyprus looking for a home in UK. She will be vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, come with her own pet passport and rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue.

Brady – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Brady is a 1 year old male Cross-Breed. We were made aware of the 3 pointers at the over-flowing Pound, Ash, Dante and Cody. When we saw their videos we could see 2 dogs that were skin and bones in the background, so we immediately asked about them too. Even though we had no space, we agreed to take the 3 pointers and also 2 others in desperate need, we would somehow find a way. One of the dogs in the background was Brady. They got fed very little and had no vet care. He is just 1 year old and is such a friendly baby it was unthinkable to leave him there with such an uncertain future. With so many dogs at the Pound, we had to get him out before he was put to sleep. After some good food and proper care it didn’t take long for him to put on some weight and look the picture of heath. He is dog friendly and people friendly and knows nothing of how life should be. Brady is currently in Cyprus looking for a home in UK. He will be neutered, vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, h...

Beau – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Beau is a 1 year old male Cross-Breed. We were made aware of the 3 pointers at the over-flowing Pound, Ash, Dante and Cody. When we saw their videos we could see a dog that was skin and bones in the background, so we immediately asked about that dog too. Even though we had no space, we agreed to take the 3 pointers and also 2 others in desperate need, we would somehow find a way. That skinny dog in the background was Beau. He clearly wasn’t getting any food at the Pound. They only get fed a small amount and if you are a dominant dog then you don’t get any at all, all the other dogs eat it all. We were worried he wouldn’t last the weekend and would die there at the Pound, so we took him straight away to our rescue kennels. After some good food and proper care it didn’t take long for him to put on some weight and look the picture of heath. Beau is a really kind gentle boy. He is a little shy initially but will soon learn to trust. He is dog friendly and he deserves the best home ...

Benji – 1 year old male Collie cross Huntaway

Image
Benji is a 1 year old Collie cross Huntaway who came into our care as he lived with other dogs, and they were not getting along. This has sadly had a negative reaction for Benji around other animals and we have worked so hard here at the centre to reduce his anxiety around them. Having experienced a lot at a young age has made Benji uncomfortable of busy environments and new people but soon comes out of his shell and loves everyone he meets. Benji is a very active boy and with his additional anxiety, he will need a dedicated owner who has plenty of time and patience to introduce the world back into his life as a fun and comfortable place to be. He will need further lead work, which the team would support with before he goes off to his new home. Benji loves his food and toys and is highly intelligent, already mastering snuffle mats, kongs and interactive games. He is a very affectionate boy and wants a sofa to call his own and a cuddly owner who enjoys rural walks away from busy loca...
