Connor – 2 year old male Cross-Breed
This is the story of me – Connor. I am a 2 year old male Cross-Breed and am seeking a long-term foster in the Buckinghamshire area.
Well, I have a story. I came to the UK very excited and looking forward to my future. I was a little scared of people but soon settled into my home and started to enjoy cuddles on the sofa.
Then something happened that traumatised me so drastically that I completely shut down and I became so scared I could not let anyone touch me. I am unable to speak about it.
I was taken immediately to a lovely foster home and my foster mum; Anita never gave up on me. It was a long journey, but she taught me to trust again with her patience and love.
Every day Anita tells me how amazing I am and how different I am to the dog that first came through her door. I feel a different boy now, I am bright, loving and also inquisitive. I enjoy life and do actually like people but I have to be sure I can trust them.
I am proud of myself but now I need to move on. Anita is older and not very well, so I know she won’t be able to continue looking after me.
From Anita: So, it would be disingenuous to say Connor is normal (overrated in our opinion).
He has his little quirks and is a little conflicted, so he needs somebody special. A person with a quiet home, who is calm, patient and happy to wait for Connor to gradually trust and blossom. He definitely needs a very secure garden and preferably another dog who he can learn from.
He is such a special dog, and I would have happily kept him if not for my age and ill health.
Here is why you should consider offering Connor a long-term foster home.
- Zero separation anxiety
- Very quiet/ Day and night
- Walks beautifully on the lead
- Sweet natured. Loves gentle affection
- Good with dogs, cats and chickens
- No resource guarding
- Crate trained
- Knowledge of basic commands
The reason we are asking for long term foster in the Bucks area is to provide Connor with a slow and gentle transition period.
Connor comes with full rescue back up. Homecheck will apply.
