Dinks and Penny – 18 month old male and female Cocker Spaniels Cross Pug

Dinks & Penny are 18 month old brother & sister Spaniel x Pugs being fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult family home with cats and dogs.

These two lovely dogs are a bonded pair that came into our care because of personal reasons they were very loved where they came from and a devasting decision for their previous owner who had them since puppies.

Since being in our care the pair have settled very easily into their new foster family’s life, settling down with the resident humans, dogs and cats with no issues.

It’s very much evident they will need to be homed together although not completely reliant on each other they are confident happy dogs but they do share a strong friendship and will sleep together and are often cuddled up with each other.

They play together a lot

Sleeping together

Penny is the more Spaniel one of the two she loves her walks and will run and run just like Spaniels do sniffing and searching but regularly checks back in to see where you are with no problems at all.

If someone wanted to do agility or similar dog sports, I think she would love it. She is a very affectionate little dog and has no sides to her, she is good with the cat and other dogs and loves her humans, friendly with visitors.

She travels well. Sleeps with her brother at night in a crate in the kitchen with the other dogs with no problems. Is house trained.

Penny has a bit of a shoe fetish and loves walking around with one, she never chews them but we spend a lot of time looking for the other half of our shoes lol.

Dinks is more like a Pug – more sensible in his outlook on life, he loves his walks but will not rush around like Penny, he is more of a sniffer and plodder and is usually close by.

He is the more reserved of the two but wants to be with you and near you, he is a little sweet heart, he gets on well with the other dogs but can get cross if they are messing around too much and will bark at them to stop.

He is also good with the cat. He travels fine but not as well as Penny and will drool although this is less and less.

His house training when he came was not very good I think some of it was him being entire and now he has been castrated and been with us a few weeks it’s been nearly a week since he had an accident.

Dinks’ favourite past time is sleeping on the bed

Both these dogs have had lots of adventures since being with us, they have been out on several pack walks with different dogs with no issues at all, been to the pub and even visited a farm.

In the beginning, when we first started walking they would get a bit barky when they saw strange dogs but this has more or less stopped now, I think it was just due to where they lived before it was rural with land so not sure they met that many new dogs.

They walk fine on the lead not perfect again not sure they are used to being on leads much and they do not need them much with us as we tend to go off in the van but they don’t pull like trains I just have to remind them to walk nicely and they are fine.

Lovely their sausages and because of this their recalls are great

These dogs have only known country life and each other so would be nice to find them a similar home together, they have been left for a few hours but not sure they would suit a working home with dog walkers, etc.

Love their woodland walks

Somebody is going to be very blessed to have these two lovely souls in their life.

If you work from home they are easy to live with while you work they will lay nearby asleep as long as they get their walks and love they are contended little people.

Both dogs are now neutered, started their vaccination course, been chipped, flea/wormed, if you think you are that match for them please email us
