Blade – 9 year old male German Shepherd Cross

Blade is a 9-year-old male German Shepherd Cross, discovered as a stray over two years ago and currently holding the record as the longest resident in a shelter in Cyprus.

Despite his extended stay, Blade remains overlooked due to his age and a past bout with leishmania, a condition that has been fully treated. Remarkably healthy now, he only requires one inexpensive tablet daily, presenting a minimal commitment to his well-being.

Despite his life’s challenges, Blade is an incredibly kind and loving dog, yearning for human companionship. Although the shelter team provides care, Blade longs to break free from his kennel, cherishing the moments he has outside for treats or a brief walk around the shelter.

His life’s narrative has been tragic, a tale shared by many dogs like him, often overlooked due to misconceptions about their capabilities.

Blade’s potential for a fulfilling life is abundant, with his gentle temperament and good behaviour around other dogs, making him a suitable companion.

His energy levels, not particularly high, could be a perfect match for an older couple seeking a devoted canine companion. Alternatively, Blade could integrate into a family environment, especially one with children over 10 years of age.

Ready for a new chapter, Blade awaits adoption and is prepared to fly to the UK. His story serves as a poignant reminder that age should not diminish the opportunity for a loving home. Please consider welcoming this gentle and affectionate older dog into your life, and give Blade the chance to thrive in a caring and compassionate environment.
