Loki – 7 year old male Podenco Cross

Loki is a seven-year-old male Podenco mix currently residing in Southgate, North London. Due to his growing discomfort and nervousness around a toddler in his previous home, Loki is in search of a new family that can provide him with the calm and laid-back lifestyle he craves.

Despite not being an Underdog originally, responsible rehoming is a priority, and Loki’s family has made the difficult decision to find him a suitable home.

This medium-sized Podenco mix has been nothing but loved during his time with his previous family, but the unpredictable movements of the toddler have caused him stress and unrest. Loki is known for his natural submission and occasional nervousness.

He particularly enjoys the attention of trusted adults, nudging for a stroke, and displaying affection, even if you have a cup of tea in your hand. When welcoming new people at the door, Loki barks initially but quickly warms up, bringing them a toy and sitting beside them for affection.

Loki’s ideal home would be in a calm, adult-only environment or with teenagers. He can either be the sole dog in the household or share space with a calm canine companion of a similar temperament.

As he hasn’t had experience living with cats, a cat-free household is preferable to keep things simple for him. A home with a small garden, away from busy areas, would be beneficial for Loki.

Accustomed to doggy daycare, Loki interacts well with other pups and accepts visitors to the house with their dogs. However, he may feel intimidated by larger dogs on the lead, so his family has taught him to sit until they pass.

Neutered, housetrained, and crate-trained, Loki knows commands like sit and paw.

He walks nicely on the lead and enjoys outdoor activities with his family, but he is equally content lounging on the sofa, especially during British weather.

Having a clean bill of health, Loki is ready to meet his new forever family in North London.

It’s important to note that any mention of the breed is an educated guess, and age estimations are based on veterinary assessments considering the dog’s development, general health, energy, and teeth.
