Gus, Jock, Dougie, & Tam – 4 month old male Pointer Cross

Image
Gus, Jock, Dougie, & Tam are 4 month old male Pointer Cross. The Band of Brother’s litter. Four gorgeous puppy brothers – totally beautiful siblings! Sadly their tails were already docked before they were found. They have liver and white, mottled, soft, short coats. They were found on the street and brought to the shelter. No owner came forward, so they are now offered for adoption. They are all laid-back, happy, easy-going dogs. Although they are currently in an outdoor barn, they don’t do any toilet inside – they wait until they are let out. Truly lovely dogs. We are looking for friendly dogs for them to live with and children over 10 years, please. None are tested for cats. Here is more about them. Gus is a very intelligent pup with a gentle nature. He will walk on a lead and sit when asked. With a bit of training, he will be an amazing dog. He has been socialised with other dogs. Gus is very loving and will come and sit in front of you and gaze into your soul with his lov...

Visiting Biltmore With Dogs + More To Do In Asheville, NC

Image
The Biltmore Estate is one of North Carolina’s most iconic tourist destinations. And certainly you’ll want to see it when you’re in Asheville. But can you bring pets? Yes! Exploring Biltmore with dogs is fun for everyone!   George Vanderbilt’s first guests arrived at the 250-room country retreat he named “Biltmore” on Christmas Eve, 1895. The house is an architectural wonder, with more than four acres of floor space, including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces. It’s still owned by Vanderbilt’s descendants, and it remains the largest privately-owned home in the United States. Biltmore’s Pet Friendly Legacy The Biltmore Estate has always welcomed pets. George and Edith Vanderbilt’s Saint Bernards and wolfhounds lived in the lap of luxury. Their daughter, Cornelia, followed in her parents’ footsteps, having not only dogs, but also a parrot named Coco, and a pet skunk! While visiting pets are no longer allowed inside the home, Biltmore has carried on ...

Sunday – 1-2 year old male Romanian Shepherd Dog

Image
Sunday is a 1-2 year old male Romanian Shepherd Dog. He is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. This stunning and sweet-natured boy was in the Botosani public shelter when we visited back in March. Sunday was a favour with the whole team and came for several walks with us. He has now arrived in his UK foster home and, as happy as we are to be reunited with him. It saddens us so much to see how much weight he has lost and the toll that those extra weeks in the shelter have taken on him. Sunday mixes beautifully with other dogs, loves everybody he’s met, walks beautifully on a lead and is generally an amazing dog. Sunday is a big boy (or was before the weight loss ? ) and he is still young so some further training may be necessary. Sunday cannot live with cats but is fantastic with children as young as eight in his foster home. Sunday could live as an only dog or as part of a pair or pack. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new do...

Image
Sandy is a 2 year old female Golden Retriever. She was rescued by our partner shelter in Egypt and is now looking for a new home in the UK. Sandy is a lovely girl who is now ready for her new home, ideally with an owner who has owned dogs before, with direct access to a garden in a semi-rural area. Sandy is comfortable around other dogs, and pending introductions, could potentially live with a calm male dog. She could be a great companion for families with children aged 12+. Please note that Sandy’s adoption fee is £750 to help cover the cost of her flight to the UK. The adoption fee covers Sandy’s vaccinations, microchip, neuter and pet (non-travel) passport.

Minnie – 5 year old female Terrier Cross

Image
Minnie is a 5 year old female Terrier Cross. She is looking for a new home after sadly being picked up as a stray. Minnie is a lovely girl and enjoys getting attention and fuss, but can be shy until she gets to know you so she would benefit from living in a quiet home (with direct access to a garden) with an owner who had had dogs before. Although she is okay with other dogs, Minnie would prefer to be the only dog in the home. No cats, please. Minnie could live with children aged 12+.

Vera – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Image
Vera is a 2 year old female Cross-Breed. She is currently located in Portsmouth. Her home arrangements have fallen through since her family didn’t have time to spend with her and help her settle. Vera is a lovely girl, anxious when left alone, therefor we need someone at home most of the time, with the patience to train her to overcome those challenges and grow in confidence. Vera is a happy girl once settled and can and has lived with other animals, so a multi-pet household is not a problem as long as introductions are done properly.

Reef – 11 month old male Cane Corso cross Presa Canario

Image
Reef is an 11 month old male Cane Corso cross Presa Canario. He can be worried about meeting new people and being in new situations. Sadly, he has not had the best start to life and a lack of socialisation and love has made the world a bit too overwhelming for him. His new owner will need to be kind & understanding, giving him lots of time and reassurance to help build his trust and continue his socialisation. Reef loves a routine and enjoys his haven of toys and food and the consistency of an owner. He is very clever and has mastered how to open doors just to be with you. Reef will require his new owner to be flexible and gradually increase the time he can be left, aid him with house training and socialising as well as opening his bubble at his pace with lots of
