Prairie Dog

Louis is a 1 year old male German Shepherd Cross. He is a rescue from Cyprus currently living in the Stowmarket area and looking for his perfect forever home. Here is a little about him. Louis is a very handsome, large size boy, weighing around 35 kg and he has a gorgeous, teddy bear coat. He is still a pup at heart, bouncy, fun, loves to play fetch and tug. He can be calm and loving too. He adores water and sometimes sticks his nose into his water bowl to blow bubbles. He walks reasonably well on the lead and is learning recall. Travels well in the car. Louis is good with humans he knows. Unfortunately he is not happy sharing with the eldest dog in his current home. Louis’ ideal home would be as an only pet where he can be the centre of attention that he deserves. No children due to his size and bounce, and his new family should want to enjoy walks and exercise with him. This boy really has the potential to be a fabulous companion and just needs a person to give him that chance.

Hobart is a 6 year old male Cross-Breed. He is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. He was found a few months ago in Corbeanca, Romania. It is believed that he’d been fostered for a year previously but escaped and was subsequently caught by the dog catchers. Our rescuer friends moved instantly to get him out and he has been safe in a pet hotel there since then. He is now in the UK looking for a new home, he is a ridiculously attentive and affectionate boy who would gladly be cuddled all day long! Hobart is as affectionate to men as he is women which can be quite rare with the Romanian dogs and he also loves children and can happily live with respectful children of four years plus. Hobart walks well on a lead but can get a bit tired after forty minutes and either he needs to build up his stamina or he’s just a bit lazy, we are yet to determine. Barney is a 11 year old male Terrier Cross. He is coming into rescue due to his owner not being able to look after him due to health reasons. Barney is a lovely boy and currently lives with another dog so he would be suited to having a companion. He loves his walks and can be let off the lead as his recall is good, he travels ok, fine around children but not cats. Barney loves human company, so we are looking for a home that there is someone around most of the day. He does have a grade-5 heart murmur so needs medication every day the cost per month would be £18. Barney is very sprightly and loves to be out and about so his condition does not have any impact on his activity levels.

Shadow is a 7-8 year old female Labrador Cross. She is lovely and young at heart. She has come into rescue through no fault of her own. She is amazing and ticks all the boxes. She is super friendly and has lived with children, cats (however she may not be used to new ones) and is good with other dogs, although she does reactive to birds. She is housetrained and well behaved in the home. Shadow loves playing with her ball and going for walks.

Rowan is a 1-2 year old male Kokoni Cross. He is a rescue from Cyprus currently living in Leicester and he is looking for a new home through no fault of his own, due to unforeseen circumstances in his family. Here is a little about him. Rowan is a very handsome, medium size boy, weighing around 15 kg and about 63 cm tall. He is playful around other dogs and enjoys being with them. He has not met a cat but does appear interested in small furry animals like squirrels he might see out walks and so he may potentially want to chase or play with a cat. He is house trained and sleeps well through the night. He doesn’t currently live with children and has not met many. He is good with humans, however, in view of his young age, any children in his new home should be dog savvy. He behaves well around food but still may counter surf if given the opportunity. Clara is a 10 month old female Cross-Breed. She is sweet and gentle dog. She is looking for a suitable home. She is in foster just north of Plymouth. She walks nicely on the lead. She is a quiet soul but when she gets to know you she is cuddly and loves a tummy tickle. She is fully vaccinated and microchipped. She has just had her first season but will need to be spayed. She needs to go to a quiet household.

Badger is a 5-7 year old male Labrador Cross. He is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. He was a dog we met on our trip to Bacau,Romania last November. He was living on the streets in a pack but was very low in the pecking order and had been bitten many times. He is an absolutely gorgeous boy. He is super friendly and cuddly and, in typical Labrador fashion, will lap up any love and cuddles that come his way. Badger came over to the UK earlier this year and was adopted but has recently been returned. Badger lives well with other dogs despite being bullied in the past. He could live with respectful children over the age of twelve but does jump up at the moment and this would need to be trained out of him. He does pull on the lead at the moment and would need proper basic training in his next home. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. Berry is a 1-2 year old male Miortic Shepherd. He is from Eastern Europe, who has suffered from luxating patellar damage which went untreated. It is now too late to correct this,but is hardly noticeable and he can run jump and play without problems. Berry is incredibly beautiful,and his good looks are only overshadowed by his loving and gentle personality. Great with all dogs, children and cats, he is a pure spirit. He is neutered immunised microchipped and flea/wormed with a Romanian passport.

Mohini is a 3-4 year old female Cross-Breed. She has recently joined Wolfies Legacy from India. Her story is she was involved in an accident which damaged two of her legs and to save her life they had to have partial amputation. She loves attention,and to be with you. She would make a wonderful companion to someone who wasn’t very mobile but had a good sized garden. She is nervous of other dogs but has been successfully introduced to several here. So with patience could live with another canine companion. Mohini cant live with cats. Always a favourite with humans,this beautiful girl reciprocates the feeling and is a friend to all she meets. Mohini is fully immunised,microchipped flea/wormed and spayed. She travels on Indian state paperwork.

Stella is a 7 month old female Cross breed. She is currently in foster care in Northern Spain. She came into our care with her 8 siblings. She was the most nervous one of the siblings, but with the patient and love her foster family has offered her she has done a great progress and has blossom up. She is affectionate and loves the company of her humans. Stella’s mother is a stray dog of medium size (about 20kg). We already tried to catch her a few times, but without any success so far. The father is unknown to us. From what the vet says and her current size we assume that she will be of medium size when full grown (about 15kg), but cannot guarantee this, so in the “worst” case her new home should also be prepared for a larger sized dog in the case she grows more than expected. Amy is a 5 month old female Cross-Breed. She is currently in foster in Mauritius. She will be arriving into foster in the U.K. on the 13th April. Amy was found as a stray on the beach with mange and starving. She has been at the sanctuary for around 5 weeks and now weighs a healthy 7kgs. Despite her start in life she is a lovely, confident pup who loves people and other dogs big, small, young and old. She is a typical, energetic pup that will need training and boundaries. She has never lived in a house so will need time to adjust to a new way of life in the U.K. She would benefit from a young, friendly resident dog to play with and learn from. She has been cat tested but hasn’t lived with cats so would need slow and careful introductions. She has been tested with children and seems to enjoy their company but hasn’t lived with children so aged 6 and over considered. Due to her age she will not be sterilised but as per our contract she will need to be sterilised by the age of 12 mo

Autumn is a 5 year old female Cross-Breed. She is a friendly dog and approximately 20kg. Having recently arrived in the UK, she is now searching for her forever home. She is energetic and active and seeks the company of people as well as other dogs. She enjoys a tummy tickle and is happy to occupy herself when left for short periods and settles well during the night. Autumn is clean within the home and walks well on the lead. Although apprehensive at first, she is gaining more confidence when out walking and enjoys sniffing her familiar surroundings. Autumn is currently living with cats and can do so again. She’s located in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. She is good with other dogs and cats. She is not tested with children. She was contacted by a guest staying at the Ambre hotel about Callie and her pups who were living in the woodland area near U.K. the hotel. One of the pups was very weak and barely able to walk and the guest was going daily to feed mum and pups but couldn’t bare to leave them once she left the island. So we decided to rescue mum and pups before they were captured or the pups died. Lorena at ALM took in mum and pups but not long after they were saved the pups became very ill with gastro and we were worried they wouldn’t survive. Callie was such a good mum and looked after her pups so well and with Lorenas care they are all now well and healthy. Remy is a 6 month old male Cross-Breed. This stunning boy is currently in South Yorkshire and is looking for a new home. He will we estimate be large when fully grown. He could have guarding breed traits. His new family will need to research and understand the training that will be required for him to be a well balanced adult dog. Experience of larger breeds preferred. A garden will be essential for Remy and someone who is home a lot with the ability and time to give him positive training and someone who is willing to listen and follow the advice given. He will be adopted on a strict contract and neutering will be required when old enough. No small children.

Cyril is a 11 year old male Cross-Breed. He is fostered in Basildon Essex. Our very best Romanian rescuer friend was called to help Cyril a few months ago after he had been hit by a car. Despite being both blind and deaf, Cyril is a happy little boy. He’s happy Little chap always wagging his tail as soon as he senses you there. Eats well sleeps alot. Likes the garden. He was asleep in the shade just now so I lifted him indoors to his soft warmer bed. He’s great at getting around doesn’t bump into things but I think I’d be worried if he went to home with dominant dog, he would be bullied. Cyril needs a quiet and steady home environment with no small children. He has previously lived with cats in Romania. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead.
