Milo – 4 year old male Cross-Breed
Milo is a 4-year-old male Cross-Breed who is looking for a new home once again. Originally rescued from the streets of Cyprus, Milo was adopted as a puppy but struggled to adjust when a new baby arrived in the household.
He was then rehomed to an owner who understood his needs, but due to a change in living circumstances, he is now in an environment that no longer suits him. His current situation is causing him stress, and a new, stable home is urgently needed.
Milo thrives in a calm, predictable home with minimal disruptions. He is seeking a small family unit with previous dog ownership experience, preferably in a rural or suburban setting, away from the busyness of city life.
He is not suitable for a home with children or cats, but he may be able to live with another dog, depending on compatibility. His anxiety can be heightened by an unpredictable environment, so stability is key to helping him settle.
At home, Milo is a relaxed and fairly lazy dog, but he is always ready for an adventure when given the chance. He loves swimming and enjoys spending time with people and familiar dogs.
He is known for his affectionate and cheeky personality, often trying to sneak onto the sofa or bed. Despite his anxieties, he has the potential to be a loving and loyal companion in the right home.
Milo can be reactive when meeting new dogs, particularly if they are overly energetic or if he feels overwhelmed. However, once he has built trust, he interacts well with other dogs and even attends daycare, where he generally gets along with others.
He needs a confident and experienced handler who can manage his reactivity and set him up for success in social situations. His lead manners are excellent, and he walks politely, but he requires guidance to feel secure.
Training comes naturally to Milo, as he is highly food-motivated. He has learned several commands, including sit, lay, wait, focus, eat, leave, and spin. He is also crate trained and finds comfort in having a designated safe space of his own. Housetraining is not an issue for him, but he can be possessive over food and toys, particularly when stressed. This behaviour is manageable with a structured routine and a calm environment.
Milo has had over two years in a home that truly understood his needs, and while it is heartbreaking that he must be rehomed again, the goal is to ensure that his next move will be his last. He is a deeply loyal dog who, with time, patience, and reassurance, will form a strong bond with his new family. He deserves a loving, stable home where he can feel safe and valued.
Milo is currently in London (E1) and is ready for adoption as soon as possible.
