Apollo – 6 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Apollo is a 6 month old male Cross-Breed. Apollo is a puppy, rescued in Cyprus who has flown to a foster home in the UK, near Braintree, to help him in his search for a forever family and home. Here is a little about him: Apollo is living in an amazing foster home which he shares with kids, dogs and cats. He is settling really well with everyone! He loves playing with the other dogs and has even tried to play with the cat but having been told no, he simply walks past the cat now. He is housetrained, sleeps well at night and is learning to walk on his lead. He also travels well in the car. He has only been in the country a short while so still has some things to learn. But his foster mum says he learns very quickly and is a very clever boy! Apollo would be very happy to find a home with another playful dog or with a family who have time to play with him. Once everyone is settled for the evening he enjoys his cuddles on the sofa. This boy is going to be a fabulous addition to his ...

Barking Dogs In Hotel Rooms: Tips For A Quiet Stay

Image
No one wants to be that person … the one with barking dogs in a pet friendly hotel. Learn what to teach your dog before you travel together, and tips to keep him quiet during your next hotel stay!   There are a lot of reasons we don’t want to have barking dogs in hotels. Not only is it heartbreaking to think of your dog that distressed. It would also be embarrassing to know that you’re responsible for disturbing other guests. And it could be expensive if the hotel asks you and your dog to leave! Barking Dogs In Hotels Leads to Higher Pet Fees However, the real cost of barking dogs in hotels could affect the entire pet travel community. Some hotels actually stop allowing pets because of the bad experiences they’ve had. Recently, a hotel manager asked to have his hotel listing removed from  GoPetFriendly.com . When I asked why they were no longer pet friendly, this was his response: [Being pet friendly…] has cost us too much in guest satisfaction and in r...

Stitch – 7-8 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Stitch is a large crossbreed aged around seven to eight years. We met Stitch in March during our trip to the Botosani public shelter. In fact, us being there saved his life because he was badly attacked and if we hadn’t intervened the other dog would not have stopped until he’d killed him. He was badly injured but after a few weeks of recovery, he came to the UK. He was pretty depressed and shut down so it’s taken some weeks to get him to a point where he can go up for adoption. He’s still not completely sure he wants to be around people but he is warming up to the idea! He is now enjoying walks, but doesn’t want to go too far as he’s quite lazy and really wants to get back to his bed! He gets on well with other dogs despite his previous ordeal. Stitch will need a home with someone who understands he may never be that dog that bounds forward with a wagging tail to greet them at the door. He’s beginning to be a bit more interested in what the humans in the horse are doing but mostl...

Leo – 4 year old male Griffon Nivernais

Image
Leo is a 4-year-old male Griffon Nivernais. This breed is known for its affectionate nature, and Leo is no exception, as he enjoys being petted and showing affection to those around him. Standing at 53 cm to the withers, he has a sturdy build typical of his breed. Initially, he pulls a bit on the lead due to excitement, but with consistent training, he can learn to walk calmly. Leo is good with all dogs, making him a social companion in dog-friendly environments; however, he needs to be fed separately, indicating that he may be protective of his food. While he doesn’t engage much in play with other dogs, his curiosity keeps him exploring his surroundings. He is not suitable to live with cats, so potential adopters should ensure a feline-free home. Housetrained, Leo is ready to settle into a new home without the added stress of accidents. His love for food means he is always hungry, so his new owner should be mindful of his diet. He does well with older children, making him a suit...

Romeo – 8 year old male Beagle

Image
Hey everyone! I’m Romeo, a Beagle of 8 years, medium size, weighing 24 kg. I was rescued by a volunteer after years spent in the dark in a garage, with my friend Giulio, who has now been adopted. After months in a kennel, I finally found a foster home in the UK, where I am currently with two other Beagles. I’m a happy guy, as all Beagles are, very sweet and playful. I’m good with other dogs and curious to discover new things. Would you like to adopt me and give me a forever family? I will melt your heart with my happiness.

Muffin – 5 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Muffin is a 5 month old female Cross-Breed, expected to be a smaller medium size when fully grown. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Hungary from death row. Muffin is a beautiful little girl; she is cuddly and kind and has a sweet nature. She is very sociable and loves to play. She happily runs around with her puppy mates and loves to mingle. She is kind, cuddly, and loving with people, including children. She is very sociable with dogs and is used to living around cats too. Muffin would be happiest in an active family where she is not left alone for long periods and there is time for her training. She would love to be included in her family’s activities and taken on adventures. Her training and socialisation will need to be continued in her new home, including lead walk and toilet training. She will need to be given time to settle in her new home and get used to her new environment. She could happily live with another dog or dogs and she can also live with cats. Older dog-s...

Benny – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Benny is a 1-year-old medium size boy, a suspected Puli cross. Rescued in December 2023, he was roaming the streets in a very poor state before being brought to the local shelter. Despite his challenging past, Benny has proven to be an affectionate and lovely dog, and an ideal candidate for a family seeking a devoted canine companion. Living in a shelter in Hungary alongside several other dogs, Benny shares a harmonious relationship with the other dogs. His loving nature towards humans is evident through his affectionate and cuddly demeanour, he is friendly with people and loves attention. With a love for company and an ability to walk nicely on a lead, Benny’s sweet and gentle nature makes him deserving of a loving home. Ideally suited for a family that can dedicate time to his training and avoid prolonged periods of solitude, Benny would thrive in an environment where he is actively included in family activities. He adapts well to different living arrangements, either cohabitin...

Orion – 7 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Orion is a 7 month old crossbreed boy who was dumped on a riverbank in the Hungarian countryside along with his 3 siblings. Someone from the public heard them cry desperately and they called on the local shelter to collect them. They were emaciated and in a very poor state, contracted parvovirus and only two pups survived. Orion has been living in the shelter since February while his brother has already been adopted. Orion is a beautiful boy with the sweetest scruffy face that is hard to resist. He has a sweet nature, he is cuddly and playful according to his age. He gets on really well with his doggie mates in the shelter but he’s hopeful that he does not have to be a resident there too much longer… He is expected to be medium size when fully grown. He could be a lovely addition to an active family and would enjoy being taken on family holidays and be included in all kinds of activities. He is an adaptable puppy who could fit in to various family models. His training will need ...
