Jerry – 1-2 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Jerry is a 1-2 year old male Cross-Breed. He is a caring, well-trained and happy puppy rescued from Cyprus and currently living in Kingston Upon Thames. Through no fault of his own, he is looking to find a new home. Here is a little about him. Jerry is an adorable puppy with a loving, playful personality. Jerry gets on well with the children in his current home aged 8 and 10. His nature is generally calm so he will make a lovely family pet with the right family by his side. Jerry can walk well on his lead, but being a puppy he can occasionally get distracted! He loves his walks and runs to the park where he can play with other dogs. Jerry weighs around 16 kg at present, so will be a medium size when grown. He is crate trained and sleeps well through the night in his crate in his current family’s bedroom. Jerry has responded well to training and has good recall, of all the expected commands (sit, stay, leave it, bed, lie down, break etc). Jerry is toilet trained and won’t counte

Dora – 2 year old female Retriever cross Spaniel

Image
Dora is a 2 year old female Retriever cross Spaniel. She was found on the streets and dumped in an overcrowded public shelter before being rescued by one of our partners in Bosnia. Dora is a very sweet girl, but her personality is still coming out bit by bit. Dora can’t believe that people only want to cuddle her, and not hurt her, so we dread to think of her experience in the public shelter before she came to us. Despite Dora only being at the shelter for a short period she is bonding well with the volunteers and her confidence is coming on loads. Dora is keen to socialise, and engage with people and other dogs, and she’s loving all the affection that’s coming her way. Dora can be a little bit reserved with unfamiliar people at the start but as long as you approach her gently she will shortly be leaning in for a stroke. Dora is on the smaller side of medium and weighs around 14kg at the moment. She is estimated to be two years old, and she looks like a tiny, curly-coated Golde

Gloria – 4 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Gloria is a 4 month old female Cross-Breed. This stunningly beautiful girl is just the most amazing colour. She is a happy-go-lucky kind of girl who is looking for a place to call home. Gloria loves attention and cuddles and enjoys being cuddled up on her knee. A little reserved initially Gloria soon warms up to people and is a delight to have around. Gloria gets on great with the other puppies and is gone with the cats. She does like to bark at them when they run but doesn’t chase so the new owners will need to work on helping her ignore cats. This little one is four months old so not yet neutered as she is still a little young. She will adapt to family life well and is going to be such a joy to have around.

Bingo – 4-5 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Bingo is a 4-5 year old male Cross-Breed. He came under our care when his adoption through his original rescue failed after only 12 hours. When he first arrived he was very confused having spent 3 days on transport from Macedonia and then being moved again before he’d even had a chance to catch his breath, but within 48 hours he had transformed into the most amazing, happy, friendly boy. Bingo adored people and follows me around everywhere with his big waggy tail swooshing everywhere. Bingo is also amazing with all the dogs here and is obsessed with my little 3-kilo Daxi cross he follows everywhere when he’s not following me. Bingo is clean in the house, crate trained and walks well on a lead, but is quite fearful of his collar being grabbed. Bingo doesn’t react aggressively, but as it makes him uncomfortable if I need to move him anywhere I pop a lead on to do this. Bingo is an absolute joy and just the happiest dog you could wish to meet and will make someone the most amazi

Finn – 10 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Finn is a 10 year old male Cross-Breed. He is fostered in Basildon Essex. He originally came from the Dog rescue shelter in Bucharest around six years ago. Finn was adopted back then and has been a perfect companion in that home until recently. Sadly his adopter’s domestic circumstances have changed recently and he has had to return to our care to find a new home. Finn has been described as a true gentleman in his foster home. He can live with or without other dogs and gets on with all shapes and sizes. Finn lived with cats in his previous home and is also good with respectful children aged eight plus. Finn walks well on a lead and is the perfect house dog in his foster home. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can esc

Lola – 7 year old female Pomeranian

Image
Lola is a 7 year old female Pomeranian. She is fostered in Hingham, Norfolk. She was recently surrendered due to an increase in the family. Lola is a very sociable girl with humans, may bark with visitors at first but then wants a fuss straight away. Lola is used to living with children so dog-savvy kids over 7, have come into a multi-dog pack and are very relaxed with it, not instigating play yet but accepting the other dogs happily, and would be happy as an only dog or a quiet dog. She is not cat tested. Lola is lead and house-trained. On the lead, she can sometimes be barky with some reactive dogs that need further work and training. When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It

Patch – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Image
Patch is a 1 year old male Cross-Breed. He along with his mum and sister, have been rescued in Romania and are living in a foster home whilst they wait for their forever home. Patch is around 20kg in weight, medium-sized, and not expected to grow too much more. Patch is super friendly towards everyone he meets and loves a fuss and a cuddle. Patch would make a great family dog. He currently lives with 10 other dogs so is well-socialised with them and has never shown any issues. Patch has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and fully health checked by the vet. He is currently in Romania still, but ready to travel to his forever home.

Murphy – 5 year old male Beagle Cross

Image
Murphy is a 5 year old male Beagle Cross. He was handed over by his hunter owner as no longer useful to him. Murphy would thrive being an only dog or with another calm dog in a quiet home as he is quite shy, and as he has been used for hunting could not live with cats or small furries. If you show him any affection, he does his zoomies and comes back for more love. Murphy is currently in Spain but can travel. He is full rescue backup provided.

Luna – 9 year old female German Shepherd

Image
Luna is a 9 year old female German Shepherd. She is good with other dogs and better when off-lead due to her working background. Luna is okay to live in an adult-only home. Luna has come to us to find a retirement home after 7 years of service. We are looking for a particular home for Luna, one that has extensive working GSD knowledge, maybe ex-military/police or similar. However, we are not looking for a working home for this girl. Luna has had extensive training, she is skilled at article searching and knows commands such as sit/down/stand/speak. Luna is happiest when she has a ball in her hand and needs a confident and direct handler to get the best out of her. Luna listens impeccably to directions, but might ‘walk over’ the average dog owner! Luna is still very active for her age, although she is starting to slow down. She finds kennel life stressful now and would do well in a home of her own. We would prefer her to go as a solo dog but would accept homes with other simila

Harvey – 2-3 year old male Griffon cross Beagle

Image
Harvey is a 2-3 year old male Griffon cross Beagle. He is still waiting for his perfect, forever home. Harvey is a gentle boy who loves cuddles but still has his playful side. I think Harvey would like to be an only dog where he will be lavished with all the love and attention. Harvey would suit a retired, active person/s who likes to walk. He is a cheeky chappie with a glint in his eye. He is so very loving and loves nothing more than to snuggle up to you. Harvey walks lovely on the lead and with his breeding loves nothing more than a good old sniff. Harvey is currently in Spain but can travel. He is full rescue backup provided.

Briana – 8 year female Cross-Breed

Image
Briana is an 8 year female Cross-Breed. She is a sweet older lady looking for a calm home to settle down in and call her own. Briana was found in a public shelter in Romania but thankfully rescued and looked after in a foster home. Briana is a very happy, low-energy dog who loves people and would be happy to cuddle up. She gets on well with other dogs she has met with no issues. Briana is house-trained and walks well on a lead. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and health checked by a vet. Briana is currently in Romania but ready to travel to a new quiet home where she can be one of the family.

Ava – 3 year old female Griffon

Image
Ava is a 3 year old female Griffon. She hasn’t had the best start in life, she was found wandering the streets with her coat completely matted. Ava after arriving here had 10 puppies, which sadly had fading puppy syndrome and she lost them all. Ava is now ready for the love and comfort she truly deserves. Ava is such a sweet, gentle girl with the longest eyelashes and panda eyes. She is currently in Spain but can travel. She is full rescue backup is provided.

Amber – 3-4 year old female Beagle cross Griffon

Image
Amber is a 3-4 year old female Beagle cross Griffon. She was on the way to the pound with her one surviving puppy and we intervened. Amber took both back to our Farmhouse in Northern Spain- Galicia- please note you cannot visit her in Glasgow as she is on our base in Spain. This is her one surviving pup (which will be in a separate advert. Amber herself will need a safe and understanding family who have either rescue experience or have dealt with a scared dog before. Amber will need to be afforded patience and understanding to be the best dog she can be. Another dog at home may be helpful. Amber will need a safe and secure garden and a home where there is mostly always someone at home. We would prefer a home without children as we think quieter may be better but every application is considered on its merit. She is a beautiful dog but is the saddest we have seen in some time. The lovely ladies caring for her will need you to be able to complete an application form, have a video h

Crash Tested Crates and Carriers To Keep Pets Safe

Image
A crash tested crate or carrier is the safest way to travel with your dog or cat. But most dog crates and cat carriers would not protect your pet in an accident. Here are a few that can.   What Is Crash Testing? An accident is the worst way to learn if your pet carrier or crate is safe. Luckily, the Center for Pet Safety (CPS) crash tests carriers and crates for you. They simulate the conditions of an accident (and no, they do not use live dogs or cats in their tests) to see how the crates and carriers perform. Those that provide the best protection are certified. CPS provides videos and test results on their website . While child safety seats are regulated, the United States has no crash-test standards for pet car carriers. Pet product makers may claim they tested a product. But that doesn’t mean it’s actually safe. Or that it would protect your pet in an accident. That’s why you need to view the test results for yourself.
