Murphy – 6 year old male Shih Tzu Cross

Murphy is a 6 year old male Shih Tzu Cross. He is looking for a new home following a change in his owner’s circumstances.

Murphy is a funny, quirky little guy who enjoys playing games of chase and tug! Although he isn’t the most affectionate dog, he rolls around for tickles and is happy to be petted and brushed by people he trusts.

When he meets people outside of the home he is generally friendly and curious to meet them, however, at home he can be fearful of new people and become anxious, displaying territorial behaviour.

Therefore, he needs an experienced, patient owner who has had dogs before and can manage these situations.

Murphy is a clever dog that thrives off attention, however, he can be anxious when left on his own so needs an owner who is around for most of the day in a home with direct access to a garden.

Murphy is fine with other dogs when out and about so could live with a new dog in his new home (pending introductions). No cats, please.

Murphy has ‘Queen Anne’s Legs’, a frontal limb deformity that gives him a slightly funny gait – see video below.

This doesn’t affect him adversely currently and he still enjoys his walks and has no problem with stairs. He lost one of his eyes due to a cornea but this is fully healed now.
