Minni – 7-8 month old female Dachshund Cross

Minni is a 7-8 month old female Dachshund Cross. She is small size, around 32 cm/8 kilos. She is currently at foster at Burton-upon-Trent DE15. She is looking for rehoming, because her owner’s circumstances have changed and their job schedule does not allow them to take proper care about Minni and her sister.

“Minni is an absolute sweetheart, tender and very much loving personality, friendly to everyone. She is a confident, trusting and very playful girl. She adores sitting on naps and cuddling near the human. When she sits on your lap, she is a true angel. Very affectionate and human oriented. Curious and active little lady. She loves to run around, loves playing with toys and with the other dogs. She is still a puppy and still can investigate things through chewing, while it is already much less than it was before. But still would recommend keeping the valuable things out of her reach.

Minni loves mental enrichment toys. She is a very gentle little princess, but still can be a little mouthy when happily excited. MINNI is a very sporty and jumpy girl, she easily goes over a 85 cm fence and can jump on the table (especially if there is nicely smelling food there). Like other dachshunds, MINNI loves to dig sometimes, so the dog’s sand box with hidden treats will bring her a lot of happiness.

Also Minni loves water, poodles and swimming. In hot weather she loved to use a small doggy pool to get cool. She has moderate food guarding from the other dogs and sometimes from human if to try to take away from her food or treat. But we are working on it and believe if work continues, it can be completely treated.

She also not happy to share new toys with other dogs, but within an hour or so, after she had enough play, she is happy to share. She will best suit as the only pet, or can be another dog if really friendly, will not bother Minni while she eats and will allow Minni to be a little boss sometimes. Not checked for cats (she never saw them in her little life), but most likely not.

She loves to run around in our big garden, where she is free to walk all day long. But she is not very used to walking on a lead, so this needs to be trained. She is housetrained. All day long she spends in a garden with doors open, at night can keep without any accidents from 10.30 pm to 7 am (needs to be fed at least 2 hours before sleep).

Same time she loves to have another nap in the morning after the toilet: as a real aristocratic doggy, she loves long morning sleep. We feed her 3 times a day with dry kibbles which little soak in water before feeding. She loves very soft beds and is crate trained, while we never locked her there and used just as a safe place.

Minni is food oriented and very clever girl, so her training should go smoothly. She is good with all humans and kids. But better for kids over 7 years old, who will not harm her as she is really small, who will respect her safe place and her eating and who will excuse her happy nipping when excited.

We adore our sweet angel Minni and would never rehome her. But the most we wish MINNI to be happy. She needs to be near human and doesn’t deserve spending 8-10 hours alone at home due to change of our work schedule”. She has no health issues. Full vaccination pack (rabies, DHLPP), microchipped. Not spayed (owner should be committed to spay her after the first season and not later than 6 months after adoption).
