Daisy – 7 month old female Jack Russell Terrier Cross

Daisy is a 7 month old female Jack Russell Terrier Cross
She and her siblings were surrendered to a local rescue after their mother tragically passed away during their birth. Because of this the puppies had to be hand reared, and now at the age of almost four months old they’re ready to find their forever homes. Because they were raised by a couple living rurally, the pups aren’t hugely socialised and they will need a patient, understanding family to help them gain confidence. Of the three, Daisy is the most shy.

We believe the pups to be Jack Russell mix puppies, although their ears suggest there could be a little bit of hound in the genes. Daisy takes the longest the trust new people and when first meeting new people she can be quite scared. She’s super submissive and will never act aggressively, but she really needs a gentle, patient adopter who can help her gain confidence. With those she trusts she’s so loving and sweet, and when she’s comfortable it’s wonderful to watch her play in the garden and interact with the other dogs. She certainly finds comfort in the presence of other pups so we’ll only be considering homes with resident dogs to ensure she’s not overwhelmed and has the best chance of settling successfully.

Daisy is looking for a home outside of the city with a calm home environment to help her confidence build as she adapts to a companion lifestyle. She’s a tiny little girl and will remain small in size as an adult too, but once she finds her feet her more active nature will surface so she would like a home with a garden and someone who enjoys the outdoors. She won’t be confident enough for walks for a while we imagine, but when she is we think she will love the opportunity to explore with her new family.

Daisy is an intelligent breed mix and will thrive with some training. This will also improve her trust bond with her new adopters, and we think she will pick new things up really quickly. Once she’s forged a relationship with a person she’s very devoted to them, but she just takes a little time to suss you out and make sure you’re going to be kind to her. Daisy will be ready to travel in January.
