Leo – 5 year old male Terrier

Image
Leo is a 5 year old male Terrier. Sadly, Leo can no longer stay in his adoptive home where he has lived happily for over 4 years. Leo came to us as an 8 month old puppy in May 2017 from another organisation in the north of England. He has a deformed front paw from birth and had been hit by a car twice and came with his back leg pinned. This was later removed and neither have ever hindered him. Leo is a typical terrier with a prey drive. He will need to stay on a lead on walks. Leo would make an ideal companion for someone with a secure garden where he can play freely. Best suited as the only dog in the home. Could you offer Leo that loving safe home for the rest of his life?

She is constantly playing with her 3 sisters and the other foster dogs. She comes to look for affection but does not stay long as she wiggles to seek for more play. She can be a bit bossy and pushy with her sister Amy at times when playing, but stops when corrected. This is possibly as she is very energetic and Amy is very calm and mellow. Milo – 3 month old male Cross-Breed

Image
Milo is an 3 month old male Cross-Breed. He was born from a stray mum in Flacq together with 6 siblings. They lived in an abandoned house, mum was extremely scared and unable to be approached. The person who fed them managed to get all the pups adopted. Unfortunately, Milo was abandoned again 2 weeks later close to the same place, next to a busy road. He was malnourished , scared , full of fleas and wanting to be left alone, crying all the time. It appeared that he had been kept in a dirty outdoor place and not fed at all and was in a poor state. He was taken from his mum at 5-6 weeks only and this made things harder for him as he needed affection that he did not get. He was taken into foster care with one of our fosters on November 23rd at the request of the person who found them originally. Milo is a baby of the pack at the foster home at the moment as smallest one. He likes to be around the fosters but takes his naps alone when tired . He has also got used to having 4 foster s

Squid loves life, he is a very clever lad and is quick to learn, he absolutely loves to run and play and zoomie and is an absolute sweetheart! Squid is happy and takes everything in his stride, nothing really seems to bother him! Squid adores other dogs and loves nothing more than an off-lead run chasing other pointy dogs!! He has fantastic recall and is very quick to learn and easy to train – with food!! Squid will steal your sofa, bed, and your heart, He is strikingly beautiful and gets compliments wherever he goes which of course, he is happy to lap up! Squid is a real couch potato of a dog, he is very quiet and as much as he will walk for miles, he takes some convincing to get out of bed or off the sofa, particularly if it’s cold or wet – and who can blame h

He can be very attached to humans, currently women because men tend to scare him at the moment. Now he has training with a dog trainer a

Adam – 8 year old male Beagle Cross

Image
Adam is a 8 year old male Beagle Cross. He is the happiest boy ever and will bring so much joy to a family. He is a Beagle mix from Cyprus and is approximately eight years of age. We think that Adam ended up in the outskirts of the city after the fire in the mountains in Cyprus which displaced a lot of companion animals. He seemed street smart and confident trotting about the roads on his own, so we think he’s used to roaming about as and when he pleases. Adam found his way literally to the door of one of our rescue partners, and obviously she welcomed him with open arms. He was happy to see people who immediately treated him with kindness and he waltzed in to meet all of her other dogs and cats as though he was an old friend. Adam’s preliminary vet checks showed that he was slightly anaemic but that he was also positive for Leishmania. Leish is a long term health condition caused by the bite of an infected sandfly. It is not transferrable to other dogs in the UK as our weather is

Roxy – 8 month old female Cross-Breed

Image
Roxy is a 8 month old female Cross-Breed. She was abandoned on the streets as a very young puppy. Unfortunately they were dumped in a spot that often gets street dogs a bad name, as they were based between a school and university, and many of the young people frequenting that area have no idea how to treat dogs with kindness. This often leads to problems as the dogs get teased and antagonised. After chasing after a bicycle, the locals decided to put a stop to the dogs roaming about near the school and laid out poison (which is a common form of DIY ‘pest control’) in order to kill them. A local rescuer who had already formed a trusting bond with the street dogs had been alerted to their plight at this point and immediately drove to save the pups from what would have been a truly awful death. Tokyo, Roxy and Dante are now safe, off the streets and in the security of a small scale shelter. It took them a while to trust the new people in their lives and who could blame them. On the str

Ava – 2 year old female Hound Cross

Image
Ava is a 2 year old female Hound Cross She was brought to the pound by a family who no longer wanted her. She was heavily pregnant and if they didn’t want to keep her there was no way they were going to look after her puppies. A few days after she arrived, Ava gave birth to a healthy litter of seven puppies in the shelter, of whom all have now been successfully adopted into homes in the UK. Now it’s Ava’s turn. Unlike her pups who must have inherited their dad’s slim frame and delicate build, Ava is a big girl, around the size of a Labrador. She is incredibly loving, well meaning and friendly, and loves to make friends with anyone and everyone who visits the shelter. She’s very enthusiastic with her greetings and loves to jump up to say hello. She means absolutely no harm and everything she does is in the name of affection. Ava was a great mother to her pups and raised them to be trusting, sociable and confident little dogs. She would play with them, but keep them in check if they

Daisy – 7 month old female Jack Russell Terrier Cross

Image
Daisy is a 7 month old female Jack Russell Terrier Cross She and her siblings were surrendered to a local rescue after their mother tragically passed away during their birth. Because of this the puppies had to be hand reared, and now at the age of almost four months old they’re ready to find their forever homes. Because they were raised by a couple living rurally, the pups aren’t hugely socialised and they will need a patient, understanding family to help them gain confidence. Of the three, Daisy is the most shy. We believe the pups to be Jack Russell mix puppies, although their ears suggest there could be a little bit of hound in the genes. Daisy takes the longest the trust new people and when first meeting new people she can be quite scared. She’s super submissive and will never act aggressively, but she really needs a gentle, patient adopter who can help her gain confidence. With those she trusts she’s so loving and sweet, and when she’s comfortable it’s wonderful to watch her pl
